Character Name: Byron “Judge” Ashford

Age:15
Gender: Male

Weapon? Leonard "Leo" Maturin
Love Interest: None.
Appearance: Scaling at about 5’10” and 190lbs, Byron is constantly wearing dress suits of a variety of colors, and is never seen without a green bowtie. He always wears an old silver watch, even though the clockwork inside of it is busted. He has light green eyes with silver pupils that are rarely seen due to his sleek black hair that hangs down over his eyes. He doesn’t have much muscle on his body, but he has a well-toned body. He is Caucasian with very few physical features besides a slash-like scar across his left eye, which was obviously put there due to a blade type weapon. A majority of the gash is covered by his bangs though.

History: Byron never had the choice of a “good” childhood. He was raised into a family of poverty, due to his father constantly spending the little money that they had on alcohol. Byron’s father was a weapon, a very skilled one at that, but he wasted the ability to use his powers by getting intoxicated daily. Byron was forced to become a pickpocket to provide for his bed-ridden mother at age 8. His mother had come down with a severe case of Tuberculosis. As Byron got better at being a thief, he started to steal from bigger objectives such as businesses and houses. Byron had no friends around to help him, he always pushed people away. He was too ashamed of being a thief and for having such a disgrace of a father. Byron became a part of his local church, where many affluent people went. He only planned on stealing from one tithe from the church in his last attempt to collect money for his mother, and planned on immediately quitting burglary After Byron believed that everyone had left, he rummaged the church for the tithes. He was caught in the act by the church’s pastor, Andrew Driscol, known as Father Andrew. Ashamed to have been caught stealing from the church, Byron instantly handed the money over. Father Andrew convinced Byron to make up for his sins by having him make a prayer for forgiveness and promise the pastor and god that he would fight against the people who sinned and did wrong in the world. Byron’s mother passed away the day before his 11th birthday. This impacted Byron’s life tremendously. The only person he was close to at such a young age had passed away, meaning he had nobody there for him. Byron was infuriated at his father, instead of his father using the money to save his mom, his dad drank the money away. Still providing for himself by working for the church, Byron started to save up his money so he could run away, and never see his hometown again. The only memories Byron wished to keep was of when his grandfather was alive. Byron’s granddad always loved him and his mother, he provided for them because his father wouldn’t, he truly loved them. A few weeks before his grandfather passed away, he gave Byron his Silver watch. On Byron’s mothers and grandfather’s side of the family, nobody was seen wearing gold jewelry. The only person Byron had seen wear gold was his abusive, and drunken father.
One day, Byron’s father finally gave him the push to snap. Byron heard his father over the phone. Byron saw his father holding his silver watch in his hand, his father was trying to sell Byron’s watch to a stranger so he could use the money for more liquor. Infuriated, Byron sprinted towards his father and tackled him into the wall of their house. Byron had hit his father so hard he managed to make them go through the wall. Byron’s father turned his arm into a scythe and slashed at Byron’s face, leaving a deep gash across his face. Byron’s eyes started to get darker with each swing he threw at his father. As they attacked each other on the concrete sidewalk, Byron’s eyes were completely black with no trace of any other color. He stared into his father’s eyes and pressed his hand against his father’s chest. Byron’s pupils became visible again but they were silver. His father began to scream and then his father cried “ I’m sorry.” Byron felt his father’s heartbeat stop under the palm of his hand. Byron stood up, not knowing what happened, took his grandfather’s watch from his father’s lifeless hands, gathered the things from his house, and he got onto a train and headed to Death City, where he planned on having a better life. Byron looked at his watch and saw that the glass was broken and decided not to have it repaired, so he could remember the extent of his power. Byron’s eyes changed back to white and green but his pupils stayed a shiny silver, and they never changed back. Every time Byron looks back at his old life, he has no remorse, he still keeps the promise he made with god and Father Andrew, and doesn’t plan on breaking that promise. Byron eventually came across the DWMA, and joined hoping to become a powerful meister, possibly finding a worthy weapon to partner with. He started going by the name Judge. He started to occupy that nickname after his first time going through the slums in death city. Killing individuals that have caused despondency in the lives of innocent people. A nickname he despised but never disagreed with. Every time he came across a person that was even suspicious in the slightest he would test them to see if they were worthy of living or they were “guilty” enough to be killed.

Personality: Byron grew tired of being pushed around just like he had been as a child. After feeling how pushing back felt, he began to enforce his own form of “righteousness” upon people that unfairly treated others. Knowing what it feels like to get tyrannized, he refused to let others feel that way. His outer shell was very hard to crack, Byron refused to get close to others. He did not talk much, he only spoke in actions unless pushed to his limit. Inside, he was abnormally nice considering the hell he had gone through growing up. Very few have gotten to see that side of him, two of which being his mother and grandfather. It was difficult for people to get that close to him, everyone that has gotten to that point has died, but never at Byron’s hand.
Miscellaneous Information: Byron has a hatred for gold. He despises it and thinks it to be inferior to other precious metals. Byron refuses to let anybody touch his grandfather’s watch.
