Starwitch. o3o

Kaimana was born, a bright young baby girl, to her two mothers on the islands of Indonesia during the later 1500s. She grew up in moderate poverty, her mothers raising her the best they could, moving from town to town to avoid confrontation by those who detested their quirky actions, declaring them to be "witches." Little did they know. They finally settled down in a small English town, only a little away from Bath. She wasn't allowed to go to school, and wasn't allowed out of the house often. However, there was one thing that allowed Kaimana to get her regular daily interaction. A young man, who visited her everyday at her window. Now, keep in mind, at this point, she was about the human equivalent of the age of 18. So, despite their intentions starting off as innocent, they eventually ended up meeting everyday in her room, to muck around. One day, this lead to Kaimana's mother walking in on her and him, y'know, playing a bit too much. She was forbidden to speak to him and for him to come to the house. At this point, the relationship between her and her mothers soured greatly, and they began arguing and arguing and arguing to the point where it was almost on clockwork for them. After one particular argument, Kaimana had had about enough. She left her mothers with the few possessions she owned, mostly clothing and a nice smooth stone, and managed to sweet-talk her lover's parents into letting her live there. She lived there for years, while starting to notice things about her husband, like how he didn't seem to age. He had the same smile, the same eyes, the same general being. But she wondered if he noticed the same thing about her. Even at this point in their relationship, she hadn't told him that she and her family were witches. It was kind of hard to tell someone without being killed. So she swallowed her pride, and finally decided to tell him, despite what his fate could be. Kaimana set up a date, and under the starry sky, she spilled the beans. To her surprise, he replied with telling her that he was also a witch. That day caused their relationship to draw closer and tighter. Eventually, a century afterward, they were "wed" on that date. (Even though the ceremony was false, so they weren't legally married to each other.)

Fast forward, 2 centuries. Kaimana and her husband, at this point, lived together and worked together. Due to them being literally unable to find a job that would take them both, they decided to combine their expertise. Despite Kaimana not being allowed to go and enter a school, did have two witch mothers that managed to hoard hundreds of books and manuals which she read constantly to refrain from boredom. Her husband was raised by engineers and had a good head on his shoulders when it came to mechanics. They put their heads together and attempted to create an invention that they could sell door to door and make enough money to pay for their home. It took months, but they finally managed to create a worthwhile prototype they could create copies of and market, and it was stolen from them as they slept in their pisspoor apartment. They weren't deterred and kept at it, but they had nothing left in them. Nothing would come together right. And that's when they got the call of a lifetime. A friend of theirs they had met years ago was calling to say that he could offer them a job, and a place to stay, in Hawaii of all places. They sold what they could to scrounge up the money to afford the trip and, with some issues and problems caused by transportation, they finally arrived to Hawaii. They were hired to fix the pools and other things at hotels for tourists, and would get paid rather well for it. It was maybe only 20 years later that Kaimana adopted a young child to live with them in this house, which they had basically converted into a lab. Her husband was somewhat against it, it was, after all, a dangerous place to keep a kid. But Kaimana kept the young girl in spite of his complaints. Only a few years into the child's adolescence, she ended up having to experiment on the young girl to save her soul, ending up splitting her into two halves, one which ran away and partied crazily, and another which grew up like a "normal" teenage girl.
