If There Could Only be a Chance [Pho & Lani]

Location: Academy Halls
Date: During the school year (before Formal and Abduction)
Time: between afternoon classes (Fifth and Sixth periods out of Seven)

Joseph really didn't have any interest in the U.S. History class that he'd just gotten out of, albeit he had technically just skipped out on the last fifteen minutes of the class. He wasn't even from America; why should he care about the country's history? He shook his head as he walked through the halls, hands in his khaki pants' pockets as he walked. His eyes were anywhere and everywhere but directly ahead of him and he really couldn't care any less.

Ikaru walked through the halls of the Academy, hands in the pockets of his black leather jacket over his crimson t-shirt. He took one of his hands out of a pocket to smooth the beanie on his head and smiled. However, as he did so he was turning a corner and he ran into someone who didn't seem to be looking at where he was going. Ikaru managed to regain his balance with one hand before using his other to steady himself before looking up. "Sorry man. Didn't see you there."

Joseph stumbled instantly, barely reacting in time to catch himself with a hand on the wall before looking up at the boy he'd bumped into. He straightened himself, fixing his tie and jacket before responding. "Er... apologies." His eyes scanned the boy up and down, and there seemed to be a level of distaste in both his expression and his voice. "You're another student, I take it?"

He watched as the other boy looked at him, apparently sizing him up and frowned when he showed distaste, but pushed that from his mind. "Yeah...I'm a meister. Ikaru Tagani." He put his hand forward, putting his other back in his jacket pocket. "So...you new around here or have you been here for a while?"

Joseph shook the hand, though his own returned to his jacket quickly. "I've been here a couple of weeks, now." He shrugged, though he seemed more than a little disinterested. "I'm a weapon, a Beretta Stampede Deluxe."

Ikaru nodded, noticing the disinterest of the boy and wasn't exactly sure what he thought of it. "Well then, a bit of a late welcome to the DWMA. I'm a meister...been here for a little over a year now."

"Cool," he said before shifting on his feet a bit and shrugging. He let out a sigh after a while, shaking his head and pushing his hair out of his face. "I suppose that I sound rude... my apologies. I'm not exactly.... used to not being at a boarding school." He nodded down the hallway, towards the mission board. "You're partnered, I assume? How good have you done?"

Ikaru smiled and shrugged when the other boy apologized saying, "Don't worry about it...was a huge change for me as well. Not to mention the fact I was moving to a different country..." He chuckled and crossed his arms, looking towards where Joseph nodded. When he heard his question, Ikaru put a hand behind his neck and laughed a little nervously. "Well actually...I used to have a partner be he seems to have gone missing. So...haven't really done official missions. Need to find a partner...although, I have taken care of some problems with a regular weapon. Though there have been some close calls..."

He raised a brow at him, curiously, "Where are you from?" Joseph wanted to ask about the missions as well, but finding another foreigner had his attention. Bearing in mind that he was British, which most people generally didn't find unusual really at all, he was still curious.
