Of Thieves and Mayhem (Private: Lani & Sniper --- T)

Weekly shopping was a common thing for the strange duo who, as far as people could ever tell, did not talk much... at least not to each other. For the boy, the younger of the two, this was by little choice of his own. In particular, this boy was mute. The strange, almost otherworldly girl beside him, however, seemed not to mind, a slight bounce to her step as she swung the shopping bags at her sides. Despite his continued insistence, she regularly refused to allow him to carry anything on the grounds that, "If I need protection then I need you unhindered." Begrudgingly, he always accepted.

Still, it seemed a little much, this time around, with her carrying not only food for them, but for their countless pets --- including the snake. Additionally, she was repeatedly insisting on visiting various other stores and buying something for nearly all of them (or at least window shopping long enough that it drove him mad). There was little else to do, however, as there was little point in ever arguing with Leila --- one way or another, it seemed that she always won.

In a busy shopping district, it is easy for items to go missing without anyone's notice. For a hungry street rat, this fact keeps him feed. A young man with a cocky, "I can take on the world," look in his eyes, prowls the shopping district for his next meal --- unpaid by him, of course. This is nothing new for him; after all, he has been living this way all his life, searching for his target, taking what he wants, and giving nothing back.

Scanning carefully at everyone in the shopping district, measuring up the difficulty of each target, the young man spots a duo: a very quiet young man and a girl who is carrying more than she should be able to. The young man whispers to himself, "Bingo! You're my next meal ticket, lass. Time to get to work."

After they'd somehow managed to cram everything into about five bags, it seemed more than a little obvious that Randy was fed-up for the day and ready to return home. Can a shopping trip pass where you don't decide to purchase the entire district?

The girl's eyes seemed to narrow just slightly even as she laughed, a strange, random sight to any onlookers, I suppose that it could, but it is not like I lack the funds or like things won't get used.

Randy's eyes rolled as he scanned the crowd, idly people watching as they made their way back towards their apartment. You could feed, bathe, and house the homeless with the amount you spend on pets alone.

after deciding the best method to relive his target of their possessions, the young thief begins to move quickly towards his target. He bumps into them while at the same time quickly and swiftly grabbing what he could from any open pockets or bags. With out her noticing he says "Sorry Lass, my bad," and continues on his way. Another job well done by him.

Leila stumbled, blinking repeatedly, having been distracted in conversation with her roommate. Looking back, she cocked her head to the side, voice on her breath as she began to stutter out an apology.

Randy, however, was in nowhere near the same mindset as her, eyes narrowing as he shifted his arm. In moments, hardened bandages had wrapped around the young man's ankle, and Randy tugged them back, despite Leila's unintelligible, frantic protests.

Ceri fell forward with the confusing thought of, "how?"

As he hit the floor, face first, all the items he had just acquired flew from him and landed around him. there was a camera, a candy bar, and oddly enough a can of cat food.

With the job a failure now the next step was the escape but with his ankle tied this would be tricky.

Randy's eyes were still narrowed as he stayed put, dividing the bandages of his transformed arm and wrapping both of the thief's ankles, dragging him closer as Leila set down her things and grabbed the ill-begotten spoils. "How did you manage to get this?" She held the camera close to her, more confusion in her eyes than even the hurt, and far surpassing the anger. "I don't understand..." A pointed look from her partner had her eyes going downcast as she realized that it was yet another reprimand for her "head in the clouds" mentality.

"Umm..." Ceri was confused by her pure innocence and completely forgot that his ankles where still tied up by the punk who ruined his work. "You where being robbed lass."

Her face fell upon being proven right, though it was hard to tell with her gaze already downcast. "But why...?" She said back, understanding the occurance though not the motivation behind it.

Greed, was all Randy shot back at her, though he quickly silenced his thoughts within the connection as Leila's dark eyes rose and narrowed at him, seeming to accuse him of far more than just simply speaking.

"Hey i know what you thinking but i'm not a bad guy, honest. But, a guys gotta eat and you had more than plenty to spare." With his smart aleck nature kicking in "Although, i didn't think you guys would be eating cat food."

It was the last comment that had her eyes narrowing, the can buried into the pet supplies bag as she returned the solitary can. "Thomas is fickle with his food." She said, voice flat but harsh enough to make Randy wince. It took a moment of him gesturing for her attention for her to realize that clarity would probably be necessary, "We have several pets, and Thomas is a stubborn, fickle old fool of a cat." Another pause followed as she tried to defuse her temper, and digging through another bag, she grabbed an apple and tossed it over to the boy, his hands having never been tied. "When was the last time that you ate?" The look on her partner's face quickly turned to exasperation as he appeared to groan, palm flying to and against his face as his eyes rolled. I did not mean literally feed the homeless, Lei,

Who says he's homeless? Maybe he's just hungry.

Stealing only for food?

...maybe he has a bad job. I can check with the shop-

Are you going to bathe him, too?

...I'm pretty sure a grown man can bathe himself, Ran-Ran.

Looking and the girl and boy with a confused look Ceri took a bite of the apple the girl had thrown him and responded, "just know." When he finished his snack he coughed to get the duos attention." well seeing how both parties are now satisfied, you guys with your stuff and me being feed, i would say its time to part ways."

Randy's eyes had narrowed at the smart remark but Leila merely sighed, "Do you want dinner?"

Ceri just look at them like they were crazy and asked "you do realize i did just try to rob you you, right?"

"And I make too much food and have a snake that won't let you out the door with anything of 'his.' Wherein lies your point?" Randy seemed none too pleased, but was powerless to do much of anything one way or the other.

"Well it's not the first time I've been threatened for action a may commit." Ceri extended his hand, "but a free meal is a free meal. I accept your offer." giving the boy with her a smirk, "Now if you can ask your boyfriend there to release my ankles then we can be on our way."

"Partner," she corrected, offering a nod to Randy. The boy's eyes narrowed, though her need not say anything in order to make his opinion known. Slowly, he untangled first one leg then the other, retracting and reforming his arm immediately afterwards. "Follow along, then! I'm Leila, by the way." she extended her hand, groceries on the ground, "And that's Randy. He's mute, so don't expect a lot of conversation out of him. That's what I'm here for!"

And you talk enough for the both of us anyway...

As his legs were set free Ceri thought about making a break for it, after all now that he knew what kind of people he was dealing with it would be easy,but before him a hand offered to him by one of the most innocent looking individuals he'd ever seen. This act of kindness towards him by such a person caused him to rethink his next action. He accepted her hand and gave her a grin, "I'm Ceri, so whats for dinner."

She grinned wide at him, strange black eyes still retaining that same innocence despite their coloration. "What are you in the he mood for?" The girl had a knack for cooking, even ethnic food --- a trait much appreciated by her partner.

...chicken?

He thought for a moment then said, "Beef."

A grin followed as she set about leading them both towards the house, bags retrieved and lining her arms. "Pick a country." Randy made a gesture that looked akin to a snicker, a smirk on his face. This was an interesting can of worms, though a rather unwise one nonetheless.

"anythings fine." Ceri memorizing the area as he followed her. "so Leila was it? Do you often invite those that rob you for dinner?"

Leila shrugged, "I'mma two star DWMA meister with a bandage armor partner that pulls no stops. I've mastered several martial arts and have a reputation seeming like a bit of a venus fly trap."

Randy gestured with his hands, and she repeated: "Few would dare."

Ceri with bit of defeat in his voice, "Ah, DWMA students, that explains a lot." he now looked around hoping to avoid further conversation on the topic.

She glanced over at him, eyes rimming in grey as she tapped on her soul perception. "What's your weapon form?" Randy stiffened, putting himself more obviously between the two.
