Together again (Jt and Prof.)

Aimee looked down at Sora, with an look of being obviously wounded by Sora's tone. She couldn't justify any anger, like she so liked to do however. Should have... minded my manners... Feeling hot in the face, Aimee grabbed a lock hair again, and began to run her fingers through it. She could sense the animosity she had created in her partner. Opening her mouth to speak, she makes a weak squeaking noise, that results in her stroking her hair faster, and more roughly.

Sora:. . . I had a rubber duck that squeaked like that. His name was Todd. Me and Todd were the best of friends and would go anywhere together. I don't remember what happened to him though. I think I just stopped playing with him around the third grade, though I don't really know for sure.

Aimee stopped stroking her hair, and her arms fell limp to her sides. S-she just going to leave then? She had finally found another meister, and she had scared her off like all the others. "I-I-" Aimee began with a few sniffles. "I'm not ready to stop playing yet!" She begged, falling to her knees, and shakily hugging Sora.

Sora starred in surprise, not knowing what was going on. Plus, the yelling really didn't help Sora's migraine right now.

Sora: Hey, hey, hey. What are you talking about. Stop playing what? What were we playing?

Aimee gripped Sora tighter with the question. "I-I won't be like Todd I promise." She gave out a few sniffs before finally tearing up. "I can't find another meister to be my partner, let alone a friend. I'll try harder to be like the other students, I promise!" Digging her face into Sora's shoulder she began again. "I just need a little more time to adapt is all! I'm not used to this... I'm not... I'm not Todd..."

Sora: Uh. . . Your still going to be my weapon, Aimee. I want to talk about it, but your kneeling on my stomach, and I want to change out of my urine Pj's and underpants. And please don't yell, Aimee, I'm right here. Plus, my head is killing me.

Aimee quickly retracted herself, blushing, and still wiping the flow of irrational tears from her eyes. C-can't do anything right... I talk to loud, I step on my meister, I invade her space, I insult her drinking even though it's only happened once, and the one thing I can be compared to is a squeaking chicken. You're lucky she's staying with you for now... Was that-. Third person. She shook her head once more.

Sora got up, then gave a small before going into the shower. After a quick shower, she sneaked back to her room, were she put on her normal outfit. She then went into the kitchen and got her and Aimee a bowl of cereal. She set it down and waited for Aimee to sit.

Aimee walked slowly down to the kitchen table, her cheeks still moist. Sitting down, she straightens her posture, and places her hands in her lap. "W-well, good morning to you." She states properly. She was certain her flaws came from her lack of manners.

Sora: Okay, first thing, stop acting proper. I know your not perfect, I know you will say stuff that will embarrass us. So, say it and stop acting like a stuck up, uh, jerk. Second, I want the truth. What do you think of me?

Aimee looked down at her now clasped hands. I-I'm a jerk?... She now gripped her dress, preparing to attempt a response. "W-well, I think... I think that you're the kindest person I've ever met. You're so close to being infallible, that you must be perfect. I also know that... You deserve better than me as a weapon partner. I want to be- I want to be like you." Aimee continued to keep her eyed averted from her partner. "I-I'm a jerk?"

Sora: No, it's the hang over talking. I don't mean it, Aimee, and you are a great friend. You don't have to be perfect, just be you.

Sora grimaced a little at the cheesy line, but it was how she felt.

Sora: Now, another question. Let's say you had an sibling who was loved more by your parents then you. Now if something bad happened to them and you could stop it, but ruin the small chance to that you would be loved, would you?

Once more Aimee reached for her nervous lock of hair. O-oh no, she's testing me! I don't know though... That isn't true. I know the answer. "I-I suppose I would save them. She makes my parents happy after all, not me." She responded with a break in her voice. Aimee shifted in her chair a bit, in an attempt to compensate for the nauseous feeling she had.

Sora: I. . . I-I didn't save him. . .

Sora laid her head on the table, not wanting to see Aimee's reaction.

Aimee stopped stroking her hair when the revelation finally hit her. Wrong answer... She thought looking toward Sora, who was no longer facing her. "I-If I understand correctly, that would have killed you in the process?"

Sora: Not exactly. I'm the freak of the family, as the rest the family has normal healing abilities. My brother was a prodigy in the family, until he was in a car accident going to a friends house that rendered him mentally retarded. My parents weren't there, and I didn't fix him. They didn't like it very much, and I ran away 2 years later. . . I can still heal him, if I chose to, since everyone else's powers don't heal after like a day while mine doesn't. . .

Aimee rubbed her dress out, being unsure of what to say. "I-I'm glad you didn't." She spoke, unsure if she'd said the right thing. "He made a mistake. I don't want you to suffer from it." She continued on with a quiet tone, unable to lock eyes with Sora still.

Sora: It wasn't his fault, his friend's mom was giving her a ride. I should have healed him, I should heal him. But with everything that's happened to me, I can't. I just can't. . .

Aimee couldn't help but wonder what had happened to her lately, but surely it was rude to ask. Then again, hadn't Sora said that being polite was what had made her a "jerk" in the first place. she couldn't bare the thought of taking the risk, even still. She simply stroked her hair again, for a while. "B-but wouldn't that give you his damage? You would end up the same as him..."

Sora: Yeah, but it would have been the right thing to do. . . Was it fair to take away his happiness for my own selfish reason? I didn't even have a happy life, as I ran away and lived on the streets. There are only a couple of reasons I have for thinking that choosing this was worth it.

Aimee looked down at her untouched food, feeling more unsettled now. What right did her brother have to trade his happiness for Sora's. She deserved it too. In a way Aimee related to the feeling. Occasionally she couldn't help but think that her parents wer using her to fulfill their own pride. that however was a completely different situation. "There's nothing selfish about what you did. You went to find your own happiness. The kind that your family wouldn't afford you."Aimee took to her hair again. "S-so... What are the reasons?"

Sora: Well, honestly, it's you and Misa. Even if Misa is her, the both of you have done so much for me that I just can't pay you guys back. I also had a boy friend a couple of years ago, but I kind of had to leave him behind. He was really nice, even if he did like to wrestle with me a lot. . . So, did you have any boyfriends then?

M-me? Aimee thought with a flattered blush, before hearing the question. "W-well, my family didn't let me speak with boys... It's inappropriate." She looked up to Sora, and smiled. "S-so you wrestled huh? How is it you make contact with people so easily?" Aimee thought out loud.

Sora: First, I got used to it with my brother and him. Second, how is it inappropriate to talk with boys?

Aimee slouched as she found that the question did nothing to avert Sora's attention. "W-well... there are a lot of reasons. A lady shouldn't be traipsing around with just any male. She's supposed to speak to keep only the company of her co-workers, mentors, and the one's approved by her family... and... I'm... supposed to have an arranged marriage." Aimee looked off into space, to make sure she couldn't see Sora's gaze. "It makes sure that our wealth stays in the appropriate hands."
