The Hatter and The Hare?! (Mature)

He readied the axe. "Then please, give me a good t-" He was cut off, a large hole appearing in his head. He fell backward, his bodies crumbling into black dust that was whipped away with the winds. Aiko stood behind Asuka, her hand morphed like before, the barrel smoking.

Asuka nodded, "Good shot."

The landscape shifted yet again, and they were in a closed Atrium. The ceiling, a glass panel with metal filigree designs, shows a cloudy sky. Snow falls, twisting into different shapes, sometimes forming images. In the center of the glowing room hangs Sylas's soul, a modestly sized ball of white, perhaps 15 feet in diameter. It blazes with determination and compassion, but is marred by an ugly black crsytal, branching from the center. A small child-like Sylas appears next to them. "See why he said you couldn't take it out? Why the bad man was so sure he'd still be around?"

Asuka knelt next to him, "All souls bear scars and flaws young one. Each learns to live with their own."

He looks up at it. "But it's so big. Doesn't it scare you, knowing that's inside him?"

She shook her head, "I have faith."

OOC: That's what she said.

OOC: ....Dammit

He smiles, vanishing. Aiko lays a hand on Asuka's shoulder. "We shouldn't tread here longer than necessary...Let's see if our work did any good...."

Asuka nodded, following Aiko.

When they return to the room, Sylas is sound asleep in the chair, smiles slightly. His hand covers one of Beyril's.

Asuka nodded, smiling, "Thank you for your help. Rest easy, friend."

Aiko nods, yawning as she walked out of the room. "I'm off duty until tomorrow..." Sylas lightly squeezes Beyril's hand in his sleep, mumbling something under his breath.

Asuka sat down, closing her eyes, but still listening to the two.

Sylas stirs a few hours later, turning his head and checking on Beyril.

Beyril slept peacefully and soundly, smiling lightly in her sleep.
Asuka remained awake, watching silently over the two.

Sylas turns his head, looking around the room. He shivers lightly before drifting back to sleep.

Asuka chuckles watching them sleep

Sylas stirs in his sleep, reaching a hand to lay it back over Beyril's.

When morning broke, Asuka had brought breakfast up for them both. Beyril stirred slightly in her sleep, waking with the sunlight.

Sylas slowly opens his eyes, sitting up. "Morning..."

Asuka smiled, bowing her head, "Good morning. You slept well enough."

Sylas nods, slowly standing and shaking his head. "I....am going to take a shower...I'll be out in a few..." With that he leaves, grabbing a change of clothes and heading into the bathroom.

Asuka nodded, leaning against the wall so her field kept Mad Sylas out.

Sylas stayed in the shower, leaning against the wall and sighing. He ran a hand through his wet hair, contemplating.

Beyril woke soon after, and Asuka fed her while she was waiting for him to get out of the shower.

Sylas came out of the bathroom soon after, dressed simply in a t-shirt and pants, runnning his fingers through his hair.
