Stirling, AlastarGender/Sex ✗ Male
Age ✗ 220
Appeared Age ✗ 20
Species ✗ Wraith
Weapon ✗ None
Orientation ✗ Alastar doesn't care much for people. Male or female.
Weapon ✗ None
✗Physical Appearance✗Alastar stands at a height of 5'9" without his horns or shoes added. When these are equipped he is roughly 6'5". Quite the jump, I'd say.
His skin is the exact opposite color of the shade he find himself encased in, as it is pure white. It's unnatural to say the least. Hell, he could make an albino look tan.
Ala's eyes are a sight to behold. When calm, resting, or weak, they're a subtle blue that reflects warmly off of his black markings. Almost giving him a sweet look rather than an intimidating one. at a powerful stage, they're a striking yellow. His pupils are always very small when outside. They're only dilated in the darkness, which tends to be quite often considering that is his most preferred lighting.
Ala has slick, ebony hair. It is very thin and goes down to just above his shoulders.
His palms are regular sized for any male, but his fingers are quite long. When agitated the come down to a point, forming two layers of claws on each finger.
It is not uncommon to see black ooze dripping down his face or chest, it tends to happen whenever. Though he does have moderate control of it.
On top of his head are two ivory horns that jut out at long lengths. They are both two feet long and have their own magical quality to them. If one is chipped, it will regrow. So yes, they have regeneration abilities as well as healing abilities. He has been rumored as a unicorn in human form numerous times for this, but he puts those rumors to rest by removing the witnesses' eyes and tongues if they call him that. That was a joke. Sort of.
✗Clothing and Accessories✗More often times than not, Ala goes shirtless. It makes it easier to deal with the near constant flow of black that pours from his chest. If he gets cold, or wants to hide the hole in his chest, the monster throws on a black cloak. He also wears simple black pants since that does seem to be this era's 'style'. The cloak he wears is similar to that of a Grim Reaper. It's long in the sleeves and the hood covers his face almost completely. The front is covered in a void-like armor, most things that touch it become stuck or soon become engulfed in the black ooze.
Now that we're done with the boring clothing part, let's move onto the accessories! To start off I'd like to describe the obsessions he has with small things. He carries them around in a small leather pouch which is kept in his body. Whenever he wants it, he just reaches into the hole in his chest and pulls it out. Inside are small bones, carvings, and earrings. Whenever he comes across something small, he'll just add it to his collection.
✗Personality✗Silent - Alastar is known to be quiet. For many reasons, really. He's a mute, which makes mingling pretty much impossible. The only way he can successfully communicate is via telepathy. To do which, he must establish a bond with the communicant. This process is explained in 'Miscellaneous'.
Quick Learner - Alastar has been known to pick up on things rather quickly. Even though he's been an outcast from modern society for decades, he could create a hacking system if given some time and entrance to the nearest electronics store. Maybe that's over saying it. More like he could create a blog. His quick learning was what helped him to become such a great healer.
Perceptive - He's also known to be very thorough. Alastar has very sensitive insight and can make the most out of any given situation.
Volatile - One wrong move and Alastar will become your enemy. He's very sensitive when it comes to sarcasm or jokes, mostly because he doesn't really know how they work, despite his quick learning.
Gentle; Precise - Due to him many years of surgical and medical practice, Alastar is very precise, even gentle. When patients were nervous, he'd easily calm them just with his touch. It's not uncommon to see even animals taking a liking to his gentle nature. On occasion even birds perch on his horns. And no, he's not a Disney princess.
Patient - Alastar has learned to be patient when dealing with the sick. Since he has learned this, he has grown to tolerate many people.
✗History✗Alastar's birth was a silent one. No matter how many tears the small baby wept, he did not make a sound. His parents, fearing something was wrong, took the advice of the midwife and sought out a doctor. They were told their son was a mute, lacking the ability to speak. His parents ended up leaving him there with the doctor, saying they could barely feed themselves let alone provide for a cripple. The doctor pleaded with them to reconsider, but to no avail. In the end he decided to take the boy in as his own.
Alastar was a well behaved child, helpful and dedicated to following his adoptive father's footsteps. Which, of course, was learning how to treat the sick and injured while studying the human body. By the time he was a teenager, Alastar was rather talented in the healing arts and was an amazing apprentice. Soon enough, he started helping on the more important operations such as mending broken bones and even amputation. At fourteen, he began saving peoples lives. Though he began to notice some of the people they saved were nothing but lowly criminals. How distasteful.
There was one occasion that they had helped a man that was injured by a guard, he was wanted for robbing a house and injuring a small boy. Alastar had argued with his father not to take in such a foul human, he was lectured, and ended up taking the man in anyway. Though when the man finally recovered, the criminal escaped in the night, knowing that he'd get turned in. The mute had followed the criminal and assassinated him. It was so simple, almost too easy.
Soon enough the mute began sneaking out at night, killing those who he decided had too much darkness in their hearts. People that had no place in the light of this world. One fateful day, he was summoned to the doctors office. When he stepped in, he noticed a middle aged couple and a small boy were also in there. He was told that they were his parents and brother and that they needed
his help to save the boy's life. Alastar became disconcerted over being asked to help a family that had
abandoned him. How could they stand before him in such a way? Caring for their
second child, but abandoning their first... How repulsive. He walked up to the small boy kneeling in front of him. The weak boy gave a brief smile at Alastar, who did not return it. Suddenly he attacked, injuring the small boy before being subdued by the three adults. He managed to fight back, and in the process he nearly killed his mother. He fled into the night, but not before the doctor had alerted the guards.
At this point, Alastar's options were numbered. He could give up and face the noose or escape into the vast expanse of nothingness that surrounded his village.
Escape was definitely more pleasant.
The mute dashed through the desert for what seemed like hours. He held up in cave for days, living only on the puddles of distilled water and lizards that had crawled into the cave at night. With nothing but darkness to keep him company, Alastar slowly went crazy.
While in this cave for so long, Alastar developed Dissociation Identity Disorder.
For days he would stare at his reflection, moving his mouth with no sound emitting.
Slowly his mind deteriorated, and his eyes grew large within the darkness. His skin grew ghastly white as he stayed there for days upon weeks. He would venture farther into the cave, growing accustomed to it's darkness.
Though it wasn't long before dark entities found refuge in his mind.
Deep within the darkest corners of both the cave and his mind, a dark entity kept watch. The shell of a man stumbled across several runes engraved into the walls on one of his patrols. They were written in some sort of... dead language?
A black ooze dripped from the inscriptions and found their way onto Alastar's legs, to his abdomen, into his mouth and finally into his blood stream. There was no scream or struggle, just utter and peaceful darkness. He could drown in it happily.
Though his death wish was ignored, and he woke up hacking up a black liquid. It tasted of nothing and had an oily texture. His cave was no where in sight, it would appear he was spawned in a different location. Suddenly, he writhed in excruciating pain as his hands gripped onto his head. Blood pounded in his ears and skin splitted, peeling back. He panted with shaky hands reaching towards the source of the pain, blood pouring down his face. Horns had grown where the pain had once been. Coughing violently, Alastar tumbled to his feet and walked straight. There was a voice... it urged him on. In the back of his head, there was a whisper.
"Straight forward, never back." it murmured, and Alastar obeyed. Why was this happening? He didn't know, so forward he walked.
It wasn't long until he came across a village. It was sickly and filled with crime. The monster collapsed just in front of the village gates. An old woman was the one to spot him and nurse him back to health, claiming that he was a spirit in search of rest. In return, Alastar healed the village one disease and criminal at a time. Villagers called him a 'god'. The wraith soon became the hottest topic among village gossip. The Healing Wraith. Even with all the fame he conducted, Alastar found himself staring at him reflection and wondering, why did his parents abandon him? They could have managed a strong, mute child easier than a weak, diseased second. Little did he know, that his parents were only following tradition. How sad was the tradition of a Wraith's hierarchy.
✗Miscellaneous✗ Communication Process ✗ In order to establish a bond, one must come in contact with the black ooze that seeps from Alastar's chest. That, or Alastar must recite an incantation in the dead language he has come to learn.
Wraiths ✗ When a pair of wraiths give birth to their first born, the child is usually given up. The firstborn wraith is known to be the most difficult to manage considering they're the most powerful. Most wraiths have some sort of deformity, Alastar's being the inability to speak.
Entertainment ✗ Ala loves observing people in their daily lives. Reality TV is one of his favorite hobbies along with cooking, which he is strangely good at. Well, that along with creating herbal remedies.
If you ignored his odd obsession with purging the world of It's faults, he'd be a reasonable ally.
Longevity ✗ The black sustenance that sloshes around Alastar's body runs nonstop and reproduces rapidly. It's not quite like blood, either. The ooze is filled with its own vitamins that make the body more durable. This is what keeps the mute alive. That, and wraiths are known to live for an extended amount of time.
Seriously like a Unicorn ✗ Like many beasts in folklore, maidens have been offered up as sacrifice to Alastar in the past. This mainly happened when the wraith roamed the forest in his true form and someone saw him. They would immediately un back to their village and cause a panic. So they offered up a virgin in order to calm him; what was it with virgins in folklore, anyway? Regardless,
unlike many folklore beasts, Alastar has never eaten one. Instead he teaches them the healing arts and sends them away.
✗Abilities✗✗Abilities✗ | Description |
Supernatural Durability | Alastar's skin, supported by the black sustenance, allows him to withstand harmful strains on the body such as crushing weights, impacts, pressures, and changes in temperature. |
Umbragenesis | Alastar can create, shape and manipulate darkness and shadows. By itself, darkness is mostly used to cloud everything into total darkness, but by accessing a dimension of dark energy it can be channeled to a variety of effects, both as an absence of light and a solid substance: one can also control and manipulate the beings that exist there, create constructs, teleport one's self through massive distances via shadows, etc. |
Night Vision | Alastar can see in a dark or dim environments as though it were well-lit. |
Unholy Transformation | In this form, Alastar's power are greatly enhanced and are able to manipulate powerful dark forces with ease. However, in this form, he is highly aggressive and very quick to anger, making him a threat to anyone around him as well as himself. |
Cell Regeneration | Alastar can restore biotic organisms to their optimal health, curing damaged or withered organisms, wounds, broken bones, low vitality, and poisoning whether it's affecting himself or another being. Though Alastar may potentially heal any form of bodily damage, the patient must be alive and their soul must be in tact, even if hanging by a thin thread, in order to be healed; once the patient has died, it would transcend healing and would require resurrection instead. |
✗Weaknesses✗Base of the Horns - If you grip the base of the horns on Alastar's head, he will go limp. You heard me.
Limp. It will only be temporary and he'll definitely cut you for touching his horns.
Water- Alastar absolutely
detests water. One time he entered a lake and it turned completely black in a short series of minutes. Though he
can use it as an escape route if escape is necessary.
