Appearance: Astrid is 5'6 in height and weighs in at about 137 lbs. Astrid has purple hair that reaches down to her shouder blades. Astrid has caramel colored eyes. Due to Astrid's involvement in taekwondo and basketball, she has put on some muscle and a very well defined build. Because of Astrid's somewhat lazy habits, Astrid usually leaves her hair loose and doesn't style it up in anyway, and also refuses to wear makeup, comfortable with herself and the way she looks.

Astrid can usually be seen wearing an extremely long but slim fitting white basketball jersey that falls an inch or two below her hips. Astrid wears black athletic short shorts, but you can't see them because of the length of her basketball jersey. Red and white hightop basketball sneakers are her choice of footwear. White gauze is wrapped around her left hand and arm to conceal severe burns.

Personality: Astrid is a rather carefree and lazy individual. This all comes from Astrid's nihilistic view of life. Because of this, Astrid is also a procrastinator, often putting her tasks and responsibilities off till the very last minute, depending on the importance of what it is she has to do. If something is extremely important, however, she'll force herself to get a jump on whatever it is, no matter how much she hates it. If something is of extremely little importance on the other hand, Astrid may just not start the task at all.

Astrid is also what you would call a tomboy. She shuns dresses, skirts, makeup, flowers, chick flicks, and girls night out. But she absolutely LOVES fighting, mud, cars, action movies, sports, and a night out with the bros.

Astrid can come off as crude and a bit aloof, but she never intends to hurt people's feelings. She just doesn't care what you think about her, bro. Astrid speaks her mind freely, uncaring of the repercussions that may come with what she says. If Astrid is attracted to a guy or girl, she'll also tell them directly, but may come off as a bit pervy in the process of doing so. Around old people, she is respectful, but she hates little kids. Astrid also prefers the company of "geeky people", claiming that they're a lot less dramatic and stressful than the "cool kids".

History: Astrid was born in Seattle, Washington. Astrid was raised by a widowed father, having lost her mother to complications during her birth.

Astrid was born into a relatively wealthy family, where she got everything she wanted as a child. Everything was well for her, despite her mother having passed away before she could get to know her. Because of her mother's death, Astrid grew twice as attached to her father. Her father on the other hand, was a bit indifferent to her, slightly placing the blame for her mother's death on her. Astrid's father knew that it was wrong of him to think that way, but couldn't help it. He loved his wife dearly.

Astrid had everything she wanted at her fingertips, except for her father's love and affection. Everything else mattered very little to her, all she wanted was to feel loved and appreciated by her father. This pushed her to pick up hobbies and interest that a man could relate to, in hopes that it'd bring her and her father closer. Basketball and Taekwondo were her two hobbies of choice. Astrid abandoned all girly and feminine activities and interests.

Countless nights and days were spent at either a gym, dojang, or the library. Astrid would work herself as hard as she could to become the best in her academics and athletics. Astrid proved to be a natural at both Taekwondo and Basketball, having been speculated to represent the United States in the olympics for one or both of those sports one day. Astrid also became a model student at her school, becoming the top student in all her classes. And all of this at the tender age of 9.

Despite all of Astrid's accomplishments, popularity, and achievements, her father remained indifferent towards her.

Eventually, Astrid grew tired of working her ass off to impress someone who wasn't even paying attention. At 12 years old, Astrid had already become a black belt and was competing in basketball at high school level. She abandoned all this, feeling that there was no point to it anymore since she hadn't broken through to her father with any of it.

By high school, Astrid was flunking in all of her classes, dropped out of taekwondo and basketball and simply stopped putting effort into anything that she did. Astrid was being sent home early from school every day because she was said to have been disrespectful to her teachers and stopped doing her work. She didn't care though. None of it mattered.

Her father finally realized what he'd done to make her turn out the way she did, and deeply regretted it. However, he decided that it was too late for him to make a change in her life, so he sent her off to live with her grandmother in Death City in hopes that her affection would be enough to make Astrid return to her old self again.

Upon arrival, Astrid hadn't changed her way of thinking and still believed her life had no purpose. Initially, there were no monumental changes.

One day however, when Astrid was out buying some groceries for her and her grandmother, a gang of armed thugs went into the store, attempting to rob everyone in there. Luckily, a Weapon from the academy happened to have been there. To Astrid's luck, he happened to be a bo staff, a weapon she'd used before in her Taekwondo training. The boy shouted at anyone in the store to wield him and take out the thugs, but nobody stepped up. Out of desperation, she used him and defeated all the thugs in the store. After this experience, Astrid learned of her meister capabilities, and decided to enroll in the academy.

Astrid's goal is to find out if she really does have a purpose in serving Lord Death, or if she really is just useless after all.

Miscellaneous: Astrid's burnt arm comes from a dare that went wrong while she was in high school.

Went to private school until she moved to Death City.

Astrid had become a 7th degree black belt before quitting Taekwondo.

Astrid rarely communicates with her father anymore.

Astrid moved out of her grandmother's house and into an apartment, but still visits her frequently.

Astrid has a bit of an identity issue.
