A challenge?

Kyllic was in love with his meister. He hid it with taunts and sardonic comments, playful bickering and side glances. He had no idea how she felt. But he loved her.

Not that he would tell her that, anyways.

But...

What would be the harm?


She was like an animal. She fought the people she loved.

Which gave him an idea.

"Rose." His meister looked up at him, "I challenge you to a contest. But this one isn't physical. We're going to pit our souls against one another, and the first person to break the lying game is the loser. We're going to lie to one another, not verbally, but soulfully. But, if you don't think you can do it..." He goes back to his book curtly.

Rose's eyes widen. She would never decline a challenge, however small or....weird. She stood abruptly, looking over at him and grandly exclaimed. "I except your challenge, Kyllic McAllister!"

Kyllic half smiled as he stood up, walking over to his meister. His body shook when he touched his forehead with hers, a glow over coming them. They weren't human. They were souls.

Ask away... His soul snorted, waiting. He would win. Her heart and this challenge.

Rose's soul, simple aside from the outline of her hair and a small flower in the shape of her namesake, tilted slightly. It's your challenge. You should go first...

"You are envious of your brother. True or false?"

"False." Her soul answered immediately.

Instead of answering, he shows her an image. True

You want what he and Dowan has, and that makes you envious. True or false.

False. Her soul thought for a moment. You wish you had a normal life, yes or no?

No. He answered immediately, you have feelings for someone, yes or no?

Rose thinks for a moment again. No. You have feelings for me, yes or no?

No He felt light. He was getting directly to the point, you have feelings for me, yes or no

Rose's soul falters slightly. N-No....

If his soul had eyebrows, they would be raised. As such, his soul says, "I love you. Do you believe me?" He detaches from her, letting cold air distance them. This was a test. If she said yes, she would be lying, if she said no, she would loose. He would win this one, and he would win her heart. He says nothing, letting distance be a force.

Rose looks down at the ground, then back up at him. He studies him for a minute before wrapping her arms around him and kissing him.

His arms automatically wrap themselves around her, holding her tight. He did it. He won! His soul felt victorious, but he just smiled genuinely. "I win." he said, capturing her in another kiss.

Rose tightens her arms around him. "Shut up and kiss me..."

He does as she says, picking her up in his arms. I love you

Rose feels weightless in his arms. I know...

I think I have waited for you for years and years. His hands run through her hair.

Pulling away, he touched her forehead. "You are really beautiful."

Rose blushes, rubbing her nose against his. "You think so?"

"Of course." He murmurs, smiling at her.
