Homecoming

Sylas bites her ear lightly. "Its ok...we're both ok." He said it with complete conviction, even though he knew it wasn't exactly true.

She giggled, peering up from within her hair, "Boo." she giggles again, hiding her face.

Sylas frowns mockingly. "That's not fair. I can't use both of my arms..."

She just laughs, trailing light kisses where there were no bruises, "I love you..so much." She said in between kisses.

Sylas runs his good hand through her hair. "I love you too....I'm sorry for leaving you behind."

"It's okay." She whispered, "You're home now. That's all that matters."

Sylas smiles, kissing her. "I love you, Dowan..."

"I love you too." She smiles back at him, and it seems like time freezes and her heart stops. It was like the first time they met all over again, where she fell in love with him the first time. She kisses him gently, "I love you so much."

Sylas wraps his good arm around her, deepening the kiss. "I wish....I wish I weren't weak....that I'd come back to you undamaged..."

"But you came back. You always come back." She gives him light kisses, breathless and light headed. "Promise me you will always come back to me."

Sylas kisses her again. "I promise, I will always come back to you. Always, Dowan..."

"Always." Dowan leans her forehead against his, "Forever."

Sylas pulls away slightly. "Dowan...things are going to start happening. People are going to start acting unreasonable...promise me you'll stay safe."

Dowan feels like the breath is knocked out of her, because the reality of the danger hits hard. Sylas was unable to help her, and she was pregnant. And there as no way either one could guarantee each other's safety. "I-"

Sylas brushes his nose past hers. "Until I'm back in fighting shape, at the very least. Then I can defend you again."
