Weapon Form: Raphael takes the form of a scythe. The handle is perfectly straight, and about 7 feet long. The blade itself is slim, although very sharp and strong. The handle extends a little past the actual blade, and a small cross piece set diagonally is set at the very end. The handle itself is made of a light metal yet highly durable metal.

Love Interest: Eww, cuties! Girls are gross!

Appearance: Raphael is only 5'3". He wears a gray, slightly ratty beret, a variety of loose fitting shirts from long sleeve to short, and loose fitting pants. Occasionally the kid wears shorts. He wears scuffed up skater shoes. He has tangerine eyes, a nasty smirk as if the whole world was a joke, and dusty blonde hair.

Personality: Raphael, to sum him up, is a brat. He has a very crass personality, and a attitude to go along with it. He has no problem putting down anyone he doesn't like, and used to be a bit of a school yard bully before his weapon powers were discovered. At the DWMA he has a problem excepting that there are people that are stronger than him, and that he has to be a team player in order to utilize his powers to their fullest.

In short, this rascal would be much happier going it alone. So how did he end up in the DWMA? Well even he doesn't know the exact reason why, but he found himself there on a whim one day and discovered Kai, who he later became partners with. Despite the fact that they are polar opposites they still feel a certain empathy towards each other, seeing as how they are both orphans.

In battle Raphael has a tendency to yell at his partner for any dumb moves he may make. This leads to a lot of friction in battle, and messes with his soul resonance. On the other hand he's also quick to come up with odd but strangely effective ideas, many of which have saved his and his partners bacon on countless occasions.

History: Raphael has been an orphan for pretty much his whole life. Presumably someone gave birth to him and dropped him at the orphanage, but since as far as he can remember he's always been alone. Even before his weapon powers fully realized he always felt different from his fellows, which drove a wedge between himself and any potential friends he could have made.

Growing up he was a major school yard bully, constantly getting into fights. Sometimes it would be to save other kids from stronger bully's, and others it was for the shear joy of fighting. If his aloofness and bad attitude weren't enough to scare the other kids off, his general anger towards the world in general and his fellow kids in particular did the rest of the job quite well.

He was adopted eventually by a single parent, Kens'e Furan. The man turned out to be drunk, and eventually Raphael ran away from home to live on the streets. He discovered his powers soon after, in a particularly bad fight that almost cost him his life. He spent the next year or so terrorizing his local neighborhood before having the epiphany that lead to him joining the DWMA. "What am I still doing in this place?" he'd thought. "I have so much more I can go and do!"

Choosing day had found him in a bad mood, for he'd only recently discovered the need for a meister, but he found Kai towards the end of the day. The two hit it off, having found they had similar backgrounds, and have been partners ever since.

Alternate forms: When Raphael is not fully transformed he uses his right arm to create the blade portion of his scythe. He is not limited to this limb and sometimes switches as circumstances demand but he is only fully proficient in the use of his right arm.

Soul Resonance: When he and his partner do ATTEMPT soul resonance Kai spins the scythe at rapid speed. Lightning will rise out of the ground and into the center of the scythe before traveling along the weapon. If the witch hunter form is successfully achieved, Raphael will stop the scythe with the weapon parallel to the ground with the blade pointed into the air. It will be glowing with the collected soul energy, but only actually releases the witch hunter form, a elongated blade with a mouth like shape carved in it and a massive eye were the blade joins the handle, when he slings the weapon over his shoulder, the blade angled away from him.
