Adrastea's Request

Adrastea roamed down the hall toward the death room, fidgeting with her hands and the ends of her hair as she walked. She looked nervous. She was nervous. My future here is depending on what he says... I'll do you proud, dad, just please, spirits, let me in... She arrived at the center, a large open area that didn't seem like it was possible to even fit in the building, "L-Lord Death..?"

Lord Death sat on his knees, lifting a cup of tea to his mask and sipping from it. He heard a voice ask for him and stood, waving to the girl. "Heya, hiya, how ya doing!?" He looked positively bizarre, and his voice was too high pitched compared to what one would expect from the Grim Reaper himself.

She wasn't sure how to react. This is the Grim Reaper..? He almost sounds like dad when he's trying to be silly... Regardless, she bowed deeply from the waist, "Lord Death! My name is Adrastea Arcane and I'd like to enroll in the DWMA!" she spat out, the words all tumbling from her lips at once.

Lord Death leaned forward, his eye holes growing into slits in an apparent attempt to look closer at her. "That's a neat looking soul you've got there. Part Witch? And a bit of weapon thrown in!"

Her hands tensed a bit, fists clenching, "Yes... My father was a weapon here many years ago. And my mother..." she swallowed, "Well, I'm sure you can guess that much."

Lord Death pulled back, whipping out one of his comically oversized hands and stroking his mask as though it were a chin. "That's pretty interesting... Wouldn't be the first case though. So, you want to join my academy, yes?"

She nodded, "Yes, I do. I've been having... issues controlling my own abilities and powers. I need to join the academy so I can continue hunting down witches. I can't keep going the way I have been. My powers on my own are too disruptive."

Lord Death turned around for a moment, before spinning back around just as suddenly, now with a stack of papers in his hands. He gestured her over to the low table, setting the papers on them. "We have some forms and such to fill out, but after that you'll be free to have your first class tomorrow."

Adrastea jumped back in surprise, "Wha- so... You mean I can enroll? Even though I'm a witch?"

He held up a finger. "Half witch. And besides, you wouldn't be the first witch to enroll here. Contrary to popular belief, witches can be good. They just get a bad name from the unfortunate amount of bad done by other witches."

Adrastea took the stack of papers with trembling hands, "Alright... You won't regret this, I promise!"

Lord Death began to pull various papers off the pile. "Here's your schedule sign up, Health and insurance. Basic stuff..."

She nodded along, skimming the papers with her eyes to make sure she understood what she'd need to have to fill out, "I'll get these filled out as soon as possible."

Lord Death gave her a big thumbs up, his eyes becoming small arches. "Fantastic! We're glad to have you!"
