Visiting Hours

Rose walked into the Infirmary, nodding to Nygus. She walked through one of the curtains to the bed where Kyllic lay. She felt a pain in her heart and she stopped several feet from the bed. He looked....peaceful....dead kind of peaceful. Her soul frantically searched out for his, and she breathed a sigh of relief when she felt it, calling out to him. I'm back, and I brought a friend...

Beyril sat near Rose, but still far enough back to give them space. Beyril being as sensitive to wavelengths as she was, could feel the two reaching for each other, as though they were communicating mentally, like a weapon and miester do during battle. She lowered her own wavelength so it would not interfere.

Rose reaches further towards him. Can I come in, Kyllic?

Of course you can. He pulled her soul toward his.

Rose felts like she was dropping, and then crashed hard into the ground. She looks around for Kyllic, standing and rubbing her behind.

"Hey love." He smiles, reaching for her.

Rose takes his hand. "Where're the kids?"

Kyllic blinked, "I don't have a clue." He shook his head, almost as if to jolt his memory.

Rose hugs him, tears welling up in her eyes. "K-Kyllic...I feel so alone....You're in here, Sylas and Dowan are gone...What do I do?"

"Believe me, I wanna be wherever you are. I just don't truly know how to get out of this." He said, kissing her tears away.

Rose smiles lightly. "I believe you...You'll find a way, you always do. Do you...want me to stay? Or...should I go...and leave you to your work?"

"Stay-"

"There is another option. Its one that my aunt and uncle did when he was dying," Arcadia said quietly,"but if one of you dies, so does the other."

Rose looks over at her, startled. "Arcadia, don't sneak up on us, ok?" She spoke gently, more than she had ever to anyone else.

Arcadia bowed her head slightly, "Sorry, mother. As I was saying, there is another catch-you'd still be stuck with Zeth. "

Rose tilts her head. "Arcadia, I still don't know what you're talking about. Can you please explain?"

"Linking your souls together, of course."

Rose thinks for a moment. "How would we do that?"

"Well, you first have to pull away and step out of his soul. Then you just....link yourself. Its a personal thing. But you intend to save him, so it should be easy."

Rose shivers. "Are you saying that if I don't, he might not wake up?"

"That's exactly what I'm saying.' Arcadia said bluntly.

Rose looks at her daughter, then laughs. "You're so much like me that it's scary..."

Arcadia smiles, "Why sugarcoat it. That's why you fell for dad, right?"

Rose walks over to her daughter, picking her up. "So, I'm probably not gonna be seeing you for a while, am I?"

"Probably not." Arcadia nods burying her head into the crook of Rose's neck.

Rose kisses Arcadia's forehead. "So, are you going to miss me?"
