A New Beginning (Open)

June slashed her katana, cutting down a man without really wanting to look. His body fell to the ground as his soul floated out of it. "That makes... four, I think...." She muttered, trying to keep up with the number. Dispite her change, she still felt a little gross about doing this. But she was getting more used to it every day. Being careful not to ruin her nice, white, coat, she reached down and stuck the ends of her fingers in the man's wound, dipping them in the blood. Soon, the entire person was drained empty as not a single drop remained on June's fingers. It should be enough to keep her going for a few extra weeks, unless something happens.

Finally, the new Kishin Egg grabbed the man's soul as his body finally dissapeared. An area of exposed skin just above her breasts opened up with tiny thin needle-like points poking out from the area as June shoved the man's soul into her body. She could just eat it, but she wanted to make sure Zeph had a few as well. So she had only been eating every other soul, saving the two she wanted him to have in the safest place she could. Then, the opening closed back and sealed itself shut without leaving a single mark to indicate it was there.

"He better appreciate me for this.... They feel so wierd when they're trapped inside of me like that." June shuddered slightly, trying to keep from thinking about how the souls she was storing were still human....

Her blade felt heavy in her hands as June cut into someone's leg. The bodies of three other men were a short distance away, their souls already collected. She glanced away as she started to bring the sword down, but quickly sensed something wrong! The man started to pull out a knife to try and cut her arm. Without thinking, she focused her yellow eyes on him as she moved her arm to dodge his blade, forcing herself to watch him die.... Knowing he died by her hands... witnissing the unavoidable proof.... It wasn't that bad, really....... Before someone else showed up, she collected his soul as well and made her way to a nearby allyway. As long as she didn't get any blood on her she could still fake innocence for what she was doing.

Argen was prowling through the streets of death city. He was in search for souls. Not souls to eat, but souls to dedicate to his research. He noticed a girl as he walked through the night. She looked normal, but after seeing her kill those men and eat their souls, he knew she was something else. He followed behind her as she walked into the alley. He was curious about her abilities, and he also wanted to know why she was doing what she was. He slowly approached the alley with a defensive attitude. "Excuse me...?" He said to the girl as through his scarf.

June shuddered slightly. She could just tell from his smile he wasn't any ordinary person. But, as far as she could tell, he appeared to be unarmed. Which didn't mean much, but at least it was less likely that he'd be able to do much if it came down to it.
 
"I'm going to guess that doesn't stop you. Only Kishin Eggs and the insane walk around at night alone and completely unarmed.... But I guess you don't understand that, do you?" She brushed a few stray strands of her white hair over her left ear, turning to the side to make sure he saw the katana on her side and putting her hand on her hip. June couldn't help but smile slightly. "I'm actually hunting for Kishin Eggs. So, I'd pick my next few words carefully if I were you."

"Excuse me...?"

The former meister turned around slightly supprised. "Uhh, hi! Is this guy a friend of yours? I'll just take a moment to finish our little talk and I'll be out of your hair. Sorry!"

Argen looked around. "Him...? No. I have no idea who he is. L" he said as he stood up straight. "I don't careuch for him either." He muttered to himself as he have the creepy looking guy a disgusted glance. "I was just wondering... Why are you out here killing people. Not that I'm against jr, I was just wondering. You don't seem like the killing type... You were innocent one weren't you?" He said curiously and almost vaguely as he looked into her eyes. "Why al I asking this...? Why am I wondering about her...? I always mind my business, that's my way of life..." He thought to himself.

"Hmm?" June turned around completely when the man started talking, staring at him blankly with her yellow eyes. What? How did he know? "Uhh... I......" She tried to speak, not sure exactly how to explein it. Finally, she sighed and leaned against a nearby wall.

"It's pretty... complicated.... I don't think I completely understand it myself...." The Kishin Egg blushed at mentioning the words. It was painful to admit that her big answear to why she left the DWMA could be summed up as 'I dunno'. "I just lost control and, well, one thing led to another, but.... I don't know, it just feels right. Like I was always meant to be this way...."

Argen paid the albino no mind. He didn't care to much for him. To Argen, the guy was just in the cut. "She's unsure... Possibly in denial. Maybe she's trying to relieve herself of something...?" He thought, trying to decipher the girl's emotions. "Why are you out here...?" He asked her as he slowly walked towards her. "Are you killing these people by choice..? Is it choice or are you trying to convince yourself about something...?" He asked her curiously. "I don't mean to pry, but I've never seen that expression. On your face... It's different." He said to her. Kataro was the one who was good at figuring out emotions. Argen never liked to talk to people. He must've been in a good mood or something.

Her eyes closed in frustrationa as she could feel her face turn red. Why did she have to absorb the blood today? If she didn't, then her face wouldn't have showed what she was thinking so easilly! "Weak willed?!" June shouted, venting her frustration from blushing so easilly. "If my partner was here I could smear you across the pavement, you know! But even without him, I could take someone as crazy as you. My father made SURE I was prepared enough for that."

Closing her eyes again, June swung her head to the side away from the laughing man. Whatever, he didn't mean much at the moment. "If you don't mind..." she started, talking to the more respectful of the two. "Why do you even care about who I was? It doesn't matter anymore."

"Will you please shut up!" Argen said angrily. This was probably the first time he yelled in his entire life. "How much more incompetent could you be...? You're so... Annoying." He said as he shook his head. Then he turned back to the female. "I don't know why I'm asking these questions. You just seemed interesting..." He said with a slight shrug. Then he focused his attention back to the idiot. "I'm sorry about my outburst. You were just irritating is all... Could you just... Leave?" He asked with a blank expression.

The albino frowned for a moment, before his smile returned. "Alrighty then. Hope you two have a lovely night. Hehehehahahah" He said to them before leaving.

June rubbed her forehead, still a bit frustrated at the man's insults. Finally, she turned back to the man who was talking to her. "I'm not that intresting, really...." She said, trying to act modest in front of the strange older man. It was probably best to keep from telling him too much, anyways. She wasn't sure how dangerous he was. "But... I don't know, you seem like someone out of the ordinary. I don't really know why, you just feel different. Just who are you?"

Argen stood there blankly for a moment. He began to look back on everything he had ever done. "I'm..." He said said as he thought about. "I'm no one really. I don't play a part..," he said vaguely. "My name is Clyde. Well... That's not my real name. I don't give out my personal information to people I don't know." He said as he scratched his jawbone. "But... What is it you're trying to accomplish by killing these people? I mean... I have nothing against ruthless murder. As a matter of fact, I need some souls for a project I'm conducting. But... You seem like you don't want to be doing this... It seems like you care about life itself..." Argen assumesd. "Caring... Why do I care... I've never been interested in anything but my research... I don't know. Maybe I was poisoned." He thought to himself.

OOC: I'm surprised I was right! What Argen was saying was just me guessing! My powers of perception emotional are at their highest level!!!

She stopped to think a little bit before speaking. She still didn't understand why he was asking her so many questions, but this was stuff she really needed to figure out, anyways. What would her mother think of this? She'd hate it.... It actually felt good to realize that fact. For once, June wasn't going out and doing what her mother wanted, she wasn't doing what Lord Death or the DWMA wanted. She was doing what SHE wanted!

June finally took a few steps twords the older man with a determined look on her face, finally believing she had a purpose. "I want to prove something to myself. I want to overcome my fears and lead my own life, to better myself in my own way. I don't want to be anyone's pawn or force myself to live up to their expectations, I just want to be me and find my own path. Even if it's not right and it ends up killing me, at least it would have been something that I've followed through to the end!"

The Kishin Egg turned around and walked a few steps back. "Just the fact that I managed to leave the DWMA.... It's the biggest thing I've ever accomplished. I've made it this far and, even if I could, I won't turn back and be that weak, fearful, person I was before......"

Hearing someone coming, June turned twords the entrence of the allyway. There seemed to be a woman with crutches and a cast walking by. But... who in their right mind would go out at night in THAT condition? If she ran into a Kishin Egg or something, she'd be completely screwed.... June's new instincts made her want to attack because of the woman's wounds, but she forced herself to resist it. While she might be a Kishin Egg, even she had limits on killing people in a shape like that.... Then, as she moved further and June could get a good look at the woman, she finally recognized her! One of the people that tried to make stay with the DWMA!

"Uhh, hand on a moment, Clyde, I need to have a word with this woman." June walked over to Julia, her yellow eyes slightly reflective in the darkness of the allyway. "What the heck do you think you're doing?!" She shouted, trying to get her attention. "You can't just walk around like that, you'll get yourself killed! Please just go back to the DWMA or something before someone else shows up.... There was a guy here barely 5 minutes ago that I'm pretty sure was a Kishin!"

"I don't know...." June casually mentioned, shrugging her shoulders. "Maybe I'll die, maybe I'll end up teaching them to be more prepared against less forgiving people? It doesn't matter what happens to me, just that I tried as hard as I could."

Her tone shifted as she put her hand on Julia's shoulder. "But you... please, just go back to the accademy and find someone to escort you. It's just not safe, anyone could just grab you and force you to be a part of their dinner or some wierd experiment. You'll never make it home in that condition!

"Don't worry about me June." Julia said, "But you've earned this warning. Leave town tonight, for tomorrow the search will begin. If you stay here you will surely die." Julia said, "I guess I am kinda a traitor now." she giggled at the irony as she walked back into the night. "Call me if you need me." Julia said as she pointed to the paper with Julia's number she put in June's hair.

"Disgusting...." Argen whispered as he saw a butterfly land on June's shoulder. He let out a sigh and walked over to June. He stood next to her and watched as the other girl left. "So... You've made a decision." He said without looking at her. "It only goes one way from here... Down. Trust me, I know how this process works. First you're happy that you've made your choice and you feel free, then after a while, you start to wonder if its the right choice. Then someone close to you gets extremely disappointed about what you've been doing... After that, you make a choice again. But the second choice is the one that sticks with you forever. The one that become the only thing that keeps you going." He said as he placed his hand on June's shoulder. He let out a sigh then stretched his arms. "I'm gonna be going now..." He said as he turned and began to walk away. Argen felt something that he hasn't felt in many years: Interest, and care. It had been a while since he ever cared about something or wanted to do something. It felt weird to him. "I'll make sure I never do that again..." He thought to himself.

Ever since the fight with June, Drake had gone out to look for her. Not to fight, but to talk. he thought he could sense her soul nearby in an alley.He walked towards the alley, not sure of what he would say. He felt sympathy for her, wanting to be alone but then him and Nora going in and fighting her. Maybe they wern't so different after all, because they didn't mean to fight her, it just happened. But she still needed to be punished for murder. Maybe if he could convince her to come back to the DWMA, Lord Death will go easy on her punishment.
