SERP'S How-to Create Original Characters!

Hello and welcome to Soul Eater Roleplay! If you're here, chances are you are new to at least SERP itself, if not roleplay as a whole. In which case --- thank you for choosing us! This guide is specifically designed to help you create your own Original Characters here! Singular bold letters in a word are used to show you the term's acronym; bold and underlined words, in this thread, represent links.

1. Read through ALL of the rules. This includes both the Site Rules and Character Rules. This becomes increasingly more relevant when you get to your character sheet, as there is a very specific answer required for the question on it.
   
   Alright! You've read the rules! So, now what?
   
2. Now, it is time for you to decide what Type of Character you would like to create! As a new user, we require that your first character(s) be either a regular DWMA Meister or Death Weapon; this means no evil starter characters.
   
   Picked your character type? Good! Now, onward to the next step!
   
3. Next, you must find your appropriate Character Template. Click on the appropriate sticky, and then copy the blue code at the bottom of the template post.
   
   Copied and ready? Alright!
   
4. Back out of that page and go to Character Creation. Select the corresponding Type forum, and create a new topic. The TITLE of the new topic should ONLY be your character's name or code name (I.E. Soul from canon could have his named Soul, Soul Eater, Soul Evans, or Soul Eater Evans). Fill out the character sheet accordingly, removing areas such as the Image and Other/Miscellaneous if they are not used. Abilities can be added as well, and we encourage you to use a table for them, the code of which is found on the Kishin (Egg) Template and Monster Template.
   
   Need help with specifics or ideas for your character? Ask another member, or if you're really not sure, a Staff Member! Our names are in Blue or Red and have an @ symbol at the beginning! We are always eager and willing to help.

5. You wait! Boooooooo patience! Yeah, I know. A Staff member will come in and approve your character (or request that you make changes, which are REQUIRED), and then you are good to go!

6. Make or join a DWMA thread! Note that literacy is required for roleplay; no chatspeak allowed. This in mind, grammar and spell check your posts before making them, and try to have everything at high quality. Although time consuming, this helps you improve as a writer and reflects well on you in general. We also reccomend that you list your characters in your Signature and create a Character Log.
