Quoth The Raven, "Nevermore"?!

Sylas nods, still staring at the sketchbook. He walks to the door, opening it. "G-Goodnight, Beyril...or, good morning." He walks out the door into the other bedroom, leaving Beyril alone with Mad Sylas.

Beyril looked back at Mad Sylas, "Uhm... Aren't you going?"

He chuckles, walking his finger up her arm, and she can almost feel the light touch. "Oh, but I find you much more interesting. See, I'm already well acquainted with him. I want to get to know you..."

"I'm uh.. Not interesting at all, I promise." She squirmed slightly, goosebumps raising on her arms.

He chuckles, walking his fingers back down. "That's not true...How about you tell me all about yourself. I'm just like him, only a little less....inhibited..."

"We'll, uh... I lived on my own for a while. I'm 17... I play guitar and sketch a little..." She tried to seem relaxed

Mad Sylas continues to walk his fingers up and down his arm. "Go on...more detail, preferably..."

"Well I didn't always live alone. I just kind of got forgotten. My mom and dad were great people, they just never had time for me. So I took care of myself. It's always been just me." She mused, suddenly sad and lonely.

Mad Sylas sits next to her, wrapping an arm around her. "Mmm, that sounds rough...You seem pretty strong..."

Beyril didn't try to get away, she just sat there, staring ahead of herself, looking lonely.

Mad Sylas grins, leaning his head on her shoulders. "Forgive me for not being able to provide more...worldy comforst, such as bodily warmth and such...Perhaps things will be different someday, and I could truly comfort you....See, I'm not such a bad person..."

"Then why did Sylas lock you away?" she asked coldly, her words like ice, reflecting a part of her hidden away. She was always so warm and bright, it was hard to believe such a dark cold person existed beneath that.

Mad Sylas grins, stepping behind her and starting to knead her back. "He did it because of her...Because he didn't want to scare her..."

"I think it was because you were something about himself he couldn't control. Dowan loves Sylas. All of Sylas." she argued, but didn't try and move away from his touch.

Mad Sylas kneads deeper, and Beyril can somewhat feel his touch. "You may be right, but he hasn't always come out on top. I gave him a little present. His eyes..."

Beyril jumped up, facing him, anger burning in her eyes behind the kishin brighter than her flaming hair, "You did this? You marked him, and me? You've ruined everything I've worked so hard for? Why shouldn't I kill you now?"

Mad Sylas laughs. "No no, the Kishin marked you. I only changed his eye color. Gave him a gift. Those eyes, and yours, eyes infected by madness. They're sharper than normal eyes. If you can avoid Saca, those will be a boon. If Saca dies, they might change back. I don't know. I'm not your madness, I'm his."

"So you want him to come after us, though? What will you gain if we both die?" she remarked, still furious.

Mad Sylas laughs harder, falling back on the bed. "N-No no, again, I didn't mark you. That was Saca. I just changed Sylas's eyes. He marked Sylas because Sylas has seen Asura, and you because you...Ah, so that's what you did. Resonating with his daughter. Not a smart idea..."

Her anger subsided, "I didn't know who she was. And I didn't know anything would come of it. I was just participating in a training exercise."

He continues to laugh, though it starts to subside. "I-It's alright, Beyril. I think you'll be just fine. Now how about you sit back down?"

Beyril remained standing for a second, then tentatively sat back down.

Mad Sylas comes back behind her, starting the knead her back again. "There we go...Calm down....Relax, you're safe for now..."

Beyril didn't speak, but her shoulders seemed to relax ever so slightly. She looked at the clock, "I should get to sleep..." she mused, but her actions didn't seem to reflect any intent to sleep.

Mad Sylas hooks his chin over her shoulder. "Wouldn't it be more fun to just stay awake...with me?" His fingers dig deeper, and Beyril can now really feel his touch.
