Plenty of time to spend on sketching... (open)

Yume sat by herself in the corner of the cafetaria. She took that spot so she felt like she wouldn't bother anyone by sitting there. She had lost track of time and was fixated on the sketchbook in her hands in which she was drawing. Then flipped over the paper to start over as she frowned at what she had drawn. The tea that was besides the sketchbook was completely forgotten and had turned cold. She had a free day from work anyway today, and the doodles she made during class had motivated her to draw. Most of the people didn't bother with her because she was not responding anyway. She wouldn't even look up from her work if someone went to sit at her table if there was no other place to sit down. Her left arm was in a weird position as if she was hiding what she was drawing. Eventually she lifted her pencil from the paper. And just stared at the drawing with a motionless face pencil resting on her lips seemingly thinking.

    While going through the line and ordering his meal Grey had thought he noticed a familiar face in the corner of the cafeteria, but when he strained to investigate the person behind him delivered a snarky one liner. With an audible sigh Grey finished getting his food, and proceeded to the table where the mysteriously familiar face was hiding. He would quietly seat himself across from her, and wait for her to finish staring at the paper in front of her. His head was tilted a little bit and he showed his lack of awareness of social 'dos and do nots' as he leaned forward a bit and watched her waiting for her to notice his presence. The more time that passed the more he would lean forward. He wouldn't go more than three or four inches though.

Yui had not been paying attention to the silent person that sat in front of her. When he was really close she realized a presence. When she looked up their faces were about four inches apart. Her face was still neutral.
"... Do you need something?"
She asked after a long silence of staring.

    Grey leaned back to a more normal posture. "Japan, yeah? You were with Xavia?" While both of his questions were worded like statements he sounded hesitant enough for them to definitely be questions. Grey hadn't really come over here for any real reason. It just ate at him when he couldn't remember something. Grey would then stab his fork into his incredibly boring plate of food, that was made so that he would consume just enough of the essentials, and then he would take a bite.

"Uh, yeah we were in a team over there."
Yume took a sip of her tea and grimaced when she realized it had completely cooled down. She had forgotten about her drink again, but decided it would be a waste not to drink it. So she just kept with it. She put her sketchbook and pencils away in her over-sized coat.
"I am her weapon after all."
She wondered what the guy wanted from her. Probably a favor or something. Somewhere she hoped it wasn't talking. Because she wasn't really good at that. Her mind went to think over possible things that could happen. Her face appearing blank as she trailed of in thought.

    Grey took a drink from a glass holding some weird concoction of drinks he mixed together to maximize the efficiency of his vitamin and mineral in take, there was no way it could taste good. Grey didn't exactly like the sound of being someone's weapon because it sounded to much like ownership. "Then, perchance, has she left her weapon in the cafeteria?" He would then, rather dispassionately take another bite of food. He wasn't here to probe her he just wanted to get to know her.

Mental facepalm. She worded it wrongly once again.
"Xav is second year student. So we're not really in the same classes... "
Yume waved dismissively.
"I usually have to be at work by now, but I got the day off. So I was working out some ideas for drawings which popped up during classes. The cafeteria was the closest place to sit down. Just didn't want to bother anyone else..."

    Liquid concoction that Grey had made was swiveling  in his hand as he rocked the cup back and forth in his hand. He would finish it while Yume was talking before asking her another question. "You would rather spend that time alone with just your thoughts then?" Grey poked at his plate with his fork again.

"Uh... I'm not that talkative, so I might not make the best to talk with anyway... And I tend to trail off in thought very easily, even during conversations..."
She finished her cold tea.

    "So Yume, do you think that you are a skilled doodlist." Grey was trying out the training the professor taught him to try and make Yume comfortable. It is very possible though that Grey was much too blunt with his approach. He came over here to make conversation, and he thought that he was willing to try and talk to Yume. If Yume did trail off then he would probably just sit there and just finish his food.

Yume shook her head.
"Not that great. Just good. I just can never create that image I have in mind... Just like doing it as a hobby though."
She was holding the empty disposable teacup, pushing the plastic teaspoon in the cup making it bend slightly until the tip was leveled to the edge of the cup.

    After a bite off of the dull plate Grey would would speak up again, "These 'good doodles' of yours, what do you do with them." Grey would casually eat some more of the food from the dull plate in front of him. He began to make stronger eye contact to show he was actually interested in Yume's response.

"I just showcase them on a website when I am satisfied with it."
She didn't notice the gaze as she was still looking in the teacup at the bent spoon. Her finger slipped off the spoon making it launch out of the cup into the air. She was still staring at the cup as the spoon was sent flying flying. Only to look at the spoon when it landed on the table.

    After finishing the last bite of food from his plate Grey watched as the spoon catapulted out of the cup and onto the table. " Other people showcase 'good doodles' on this website?" He went back for another bite and was mildly surprised that he had finished the plate.

"Yeah. They do. Most of them are professional artists though. They use it for exposure to do commissions and such. They really know how to advertise their work..."
Yume was resting one arm on the table with her head propped on her hand. Absentmindedly turning the cup in her hand.

    "Then it is your dream to be a professional artist, not a hobby doodler?" It wasn't often Grey got someone to talk to him this long without him getting frustrated. It was rather relieving actually. Grey fidgeted with his plate and fork periodically to line them up better, but for the most part he mainly focused on maintaining eye contact with Yume.

"I don't really know what I want... There are just too many interesting things to do..." Drawing just is something that is fun to do once in a while I guess... I am not that dedicated to actually do anything with it yet... And then this other option came by to be a weapon and fight. I never really thought about actually fighting before. Somewhere it still feels a bit... Unreal.
Her mind was drifting off to what she expected things to be. Her eyes staring forward as if she looked right through grey. Her head still resting in her hand.

"I guess that is something only time can tell." As Yume began to day dream, would pull his weapon cas onto the seat beside of him and then pull out his wakizashi, a bottle, and a rag. Grey would put some oil on the wakizashi then wipe it with the rag upwards then downwards and upwards again in a circular pattern repeatedly the flip it over and do the same until both sides glistened enough where hus face could be seen clearly in them.

"Mhm..."
Answered Yume absentmindedly. She was thinking of things she could do in life, imagining being a game designer... Biologist... Superhero...
"Pffft--!"
She covered her mouth with her hands as she imagined the last one. Having a bit of a silent giggle.

A singular pea glided from one side of the room to the other. Many of the students who saw it went silent as they followed the pea as its beautiful are took it at least 80 feet.

     Grey would set his sword down back in his case. Grey began to think about his recipe he used for his fl- there was a small thump as something hit Grey in the back of the head. The students who watched the pea go across the room went silent awaiting Grey's reaction. a single person raised a fist and gave a quick "woo". Very calmly Grey reached and felt the back of his head feeling the mashed pea. Emotionlessly he stood up and headed for the cafeteria's line as the lunch lady simply walked away shaking her head.

    Grey grabbed a handful of little tomatoes that were roughly the size of his flash bangs. The guy at the other side of the lunch room knew what was coming next, so he flipped the table over he was at to use it for cover knocking over all it held. Students began banging their forks and knives on the table as Grey threw a single tomato it landed where the table would have hit the ground right before splattering into the kids face. "FOOD FIGHT!" someone yelled as a pie was thrown at someone else. Grey booked it back to the highly defensible corner where Yume had been sitting.

From the corner of her eye Yume saw something moving her way, in an automatic reflex she caught it with her hand in a fast movement though it fell apart as soon as it touched her hand. Snapping out of her thoughts confused she realized she just caught a flying pie. She licked her hand off and while she looked up the entire cafeteria had turned into a battle field. Her eyes were wide in surprise at the sudden noise of shouting people and flying food. This was a complete waste of food in her eyes as she watched in horror how delicious things splattered on the floors, walls and tables. She crouched under the table when more food came her way. From below the table she watched food soaring though the air. It was surprisingly fun to watch, but she decided to stay out of it as she didn't want her coat to get dirty.

    Grey was a bit annoyed by this whole situation, even though it was his fault. He just wanted to get back at the jerk who through a pea at him, but then it turned into this all out food fight. It would be nice if he could find a way out of this annoying situation, but he couldn't look over the table without getting hit. Grey then remembered His wakizashi had just been waxed and. was. on the other side of the table. Grey's shadow rose from the ground and became a copy of himself then launched itself over the table. it was a sight to behold there were meisters using baguettes as swords and carrots as daggers amongst the chaos. The clone barely managed to get the case over the edge of the table before he was covered in fruits and Grey dispelled it.

Yume was still watching as food was flying around from underneath her table. She then saw Grey dashing to the table while another one stayed in coverae. Wait... There were two Grey's now? Yume looked to and fro each of them in the short time that the clone had dashed over to her table. She heard a clattering sound and turned around to see what it was. It appeared to be a clean sword. Probably he wanted it to stay that way... Yume carefully slid the sword closer under the table as to make sure no food would fall on it.

     Grey looked over from his place of cover behind the table and gave Yume a large awkward smile and two thumbs up. In the center of the room there were two meisters that seemed to be rivals going at it with one another. One of them had a lollipop in her mouth and her hair seemed to blow in the wind as her hands twitched over the bananas she had tied to her waste as if they were pistols. The other half of the rivalry was a mesiter who had a scarf tied around the lower half of her face and a headband with loose straps both of which were also blowing in the wind, and those who had been watching them earlier would have noticed that the meister had managed to make a loaf of bread disappear up each of their sleeves. Either out of respect for the duel that was about to happen or out of fear for the high-star meisters there was an aura around the two meisters that was free of flying food scraps.

    At least until the two meisters attacked each other with wavelength enhanced food items. From the gunslinger slices of banana flew out of the bananas as she held them at her foe like guns. From the ninja star shaped pieces of bread flew at each of the slices of banana and for a solid six or seven seconds the food items exploded against each other until both meisters were out of ammo. Then the gunslinger punched their hands into two large oranges that flew nearby using them as boxing gloves, and the ninja grabbed a baguette, wielding it like a katana. The two charged at each othe and were lost in the food fight. Grey watched with envy as a person opened the door to the cafeteria, had a tomato fly past their head, and susequently leave with a, "Nope."

Grey seemed happy she secured the sword's cleanness. She just grinned victoriously seeing she satisfied someone in a good way. In her mind played a little victory dance with silly music. She watched as two meisters stood eye to eye when her focus went back to reality. They were going to do a showdown. When they started attacking each other with wavelength enchanted food projectiles she was glad she didn't participate in this food fight. It would've been really unfair since she couldn't do that kind of thing.
To be honest, she was starting to question her usefulness in actual battle. All she could really do was turn into a weapon. That was all there was for her. She swallowed the sad thought that came with that and she just kept a blank face. Crying in public was not her thing. Though her thoughts kept nagging her on it on how she didn't deserve to have a partner if she couldn't even cover up for herself. Stubbornly she tried to shove the thought away by thinking of something else. But it was hard as soon as her mind was onto something.
