| Name (Melrose)Gender/Sex: Trans-male Age: 19 (and is, as of very recently, biologically immortal) Species: Vampire (resisting) Love Interest: (N/A) Orientation (Sexual/Romantic): Not really interested in being in a relationship, especially with a non-immortal Weapon: N/A Appearance: This thin teen has white hair that glistens in the sunlight like snow. Because Melrose's body has few defenses against the sun, his skin is olive everywhere that is typically exposed to the sun like his arms face and neck. Underneath his clothes though he pasty and pale. At five foot four inches Melrose is a shorter than average. From under his well kept, snow white hair, Melrose's bright green eyes glare at the world portraying just as much contempt for it as he thinks it does for him. Behind his lips, Melrose has a pair of sharp canines, and behind those an almost as sharp pair of premolars. Personality: Melrose has an affinity for simple things; plain shirts, long slacks, and maybe overalls; one scarf, shined dress shoes, and maybe some hair gel. Regardless of what it is Melrose will go through the minimum amount of effort required to get a task done. If he could have things his way he would almost never leave the comfort of indoors. Melrose understands that this is impractical though and is often compelled to action by the thought of later inconveniences. He will also forsake his lethargy if he witnesses great injustices that he knows no one else can take care of, but even in those situations it is rare for him to be without seeming at least a little apathetic. A major reason for his behavior is because Melrose feels that he is morally inferior as a being, and projects that onto others as he assumes that those are others' true feelings under what they display. He doesn't really care about the morality of others or the rules set by society. As long as he can do what he thinks to be right he will be satisfied. Though he refuses to own one, Melrose loves canines and has much more positive, outgoing relationships with them than with people, even if they are simply people who can change into canines. Personality Quirks: - Taste for Longevity:
Maybe because of his relatively simple life so far, extravagance is often seen as too much to Melrose, and when he is forced into more lavish circumstances he very passive aggressively rebels. Despite his disdain for extravagance though, or maybe because of it Melrose often buys things for very high prices because they are advertised as being incredible durable. He finds himself lured to things that will stand the tests of time with him, and thinks that all of those pretty things that people hoard that will slowly fall apart are nothing more than over priced novelties. - Slow to Trust:
As someone who has seen what happens to those who are too quick to trust, Melrose is slow to put his faith into others, and he will provide them with just enough rope to hang themselves. He gives people just enough trust to accomplish a goal, but if, when it comes down to it, they are incapable and he really wants the goal accomplished Melrose will be ready to step in. That being said there are few things Melrose cares enough about to actually do something like that. Melrose will not often follow people he does not trust fully, but when he does he often will give the appearance of obedience to make his life easier. - Large Ego:
When Melrose gets himself dedicated to a goal somehow, he typically finds himself many steps ahead of those who would seek to outwit him. He knows that he has this advantage over most of the populace and it will often get to his head, and this is the sole factor of many of his failures. Though he lacks skill because he is too lazy to practice, and he has talent, great forethought, and raw power to back up himself up most of the time. This combination is what leads him to underestimate tasks, more often than not, because it is easy to forget what failure is like with a track record like Mel's. - Easily Bored:
Even after finding himself dedicated to something, sometimes it is still easy for Melrose to get bored with it and stop giving effort. The way he sees it he has the rest of his eternity to try harder, and if it takes too much effort to accomplish now it may just be easier altogether to do later. History: Roughly one and a half years ago I was an ordinary person. I lived an ordinary life. I graduated high school, had applied for three colleges, and I was gonna get a masters degree in five years. Roughly one and a half years ago, plus or minus a day, I was bitten by a man and only managed to escape because of a passing monster hunter. Don't expect any extraordinary feats from me because, while I am totally a vampire, the sunlight makes me no better than any of my peers. The second my debt to society is absolved, I'm out. I simply want to live out my eternity in without anyone being a pain in my ass. - Vampire Shtuffs:
Soul Count: 0 Miscellaneous: Direct skin contact with sunlight or bright lights temporarily prevents Melrose from accessing any abilities that he has gained from consuming souls. He can though partially regain those abilities temporarily by consuming some of the soul wavelength of another creature. He is stronger and faster than the average human from his vampirism. His vampirism prevents him from sleeping. He has tried using both drugs and magic, but he has yet to find something effective. He resists his vampirism's call to drain humans by always surrounding himself in light. He can't turn others yet. Melrose's insightful intelligence is more keen to a very well honed imagination and a good understanding of many topics. Melrose can use his knowledge to, in a moment, imagine various situations that might play out. He uses his knowledge of behavior, history, and various sciences to weed out possibilities that are unlikely and replace them with new possibilities. Due to a lack of experience with magic, these predictions are a little less accurate in that department, but even when magic is involved he can count on his insight and mind to help guide him out of almost any sticky situation. Since this ability is not supernatural it is not guaranteed to be accurate, but it may be that simply because Melrose puts so much faith in this talent that it almost never fails him. - Soul Room:
This large room is well lit by little stars that litter the walls and ceiling. At the back of the room there are two, 25 foot long pews that perpendicularly meet the walls. They are facing one another and are separated by an equally long, four foot wide rustic, dark brown, wooden table. in the center of this table there is a large circular pit that looks like a shallow, one foot in radius dome was crafted into the table. From it 4 one inch deep by three inch wide canals run from it to the middle of each side of the table.
On the other side of the room there is a three tiered, Gothic, stone fountain. Each tier of the fountain has a bowl holding a dark red liquid that is half as wide and half as deep as the the one below it. The bottom dish being about five feet wide and a little over a foot deep. this fountain looks as if it was crafted long ago, but was still somehow amazingly well preserved. Hovering just above the fountain is a stone carving of the smiling moon. From its mouth old, dark, thick blood slowly drips onto a statuette of a beautiful, winged woman in a dress who stands on top of a platform in the center dish. the platform is small and is located in the center of the dish. It is just wide enough for the small statuette to stand upon and just tall enough to keep the small statuette above the lip of the dish. The statuettes hands are raised in front of her face and cupped together where they catch the blood dripping from the mouth of the moon. Abilities: Abilities | Description | Soul adsorption | - Melrose consumes souls via blood:
Melrose can slowly drain a soul dry through a victim's blood. It is not necessary for him to drink it only to touch it, and it must have recently been in the victim's living body no longer than one minute prior. It takes a little over a minute to completely consume a regular human soul with this process and requires most of Melrose's focus (taking increasingly longer for stronger souls. For every post that Melrose adsorbs a victim's soul wavelength he can revert a minor injury on one part of his body back to its previous state (a busted lip would revert back to the lip's normal state). In light this ability works half as fast. Melrose can suck the wavelength or magic from things without souls that still have wavelengths or magic through touch while in "Beastly Form"(so long as they don't originate from him). For instance, he could fee off of a clown or a magical tool. While in "Beastly Form" his human form will heal, but not the beastly one.
| Electricity Manipulation | - He can use electricity make things out of plasma:
Melrose can utilize electricity to create lukewarm plasma in the shape of, no more than, two simple swords. Swords made with this ability won't dissipate as long as Melrose is in contact with them. The very next post they fade into electricity unless they are in contact with another source of electricity. While in "Beastly Form", Melrose cannot create swords, but he can instead numb things that are directly touching his claws.
| Vampiric Growth | - consuming souls makes him stronger:
As Melrose consumes magical or mad souls his vampire abilities gain strength, assuming the soul belonged to a kishin egg that had consumed more than 30 souls, a witch, or a magical monster. the soul consumed must have had an ability similar to one Melrose has to be used with this ability or else it is ineffective. i.e. a soul with elemental powers would go with the Electricity Manipulation ability. He can smell and track anything that he can consume in this way. (unless they are soul protected or covered in water.
| Beastly Form | - Melrose changes into a were-wolf like creature:
Since his curse comes with therianthropy, Melrose can, almost instantaneously, take on aspects of a wolf and can choose to up to double his height. This form has superior strength and speed when compared to his human form. When he reverts back to human form, he reverts to the condition he was in just before transforming.
- A Pic:
|
- Soul Breakdown:
Ten monster/kishin egg souls = one witch soul. Ten witch souls = one kishin soul One kishin egg soul= One dark weapon soul One Witch soul = (99 souls consumed) dark weapon 1 Kishin soul= 2 Death scythe level dark weapon
Melrose rapidly restores injuries that originate form non-magical harm. Injuries from a supernatural source (from a flick from a kishin egg to the spell of a witch to a holy flame), silver, or soul wavelength based attacks cannot be healed by this ability. Once Melrose has reverted back to human from his "Beastly Form" in a thread he must use soul adsorption for at least two posts before he can activate it again. It is also a little bit painful. These things combined with the inconvenient appearance of the form often cause Melrose to not bother with it unless it is a last resort. Not to mention how much it tires him out. Melrose cannot be recorded on the visible light scale with cameras and he has no reflection in mirrors. Weaknesses: - Classic vampire weaknesses:
Bright light and sunlight make Melrose almost human reducing any extra abilities gained from vampiric growth to their most basic forms. Running water is the bane of Melrose's existence, and even in forms as simple as rain moving water eats away at Melrose's flesh like acid. He can spend 2 minutes completely exposed to rain before falling unconscious one minute after that death is imminent. This only effects area's in direct contact with water, moving water is still deadly to him nonetheless. If he is in sunlight or really bright light the times he can be exposed double, but when was the last time you saw it bright outside while it was raining. Melrose also won't enter someone's home (not house home, there is a difference) without their consent (spoken or unspoken). He can, but he won't.(more like a quirk than a weakness)
Have You Read the Rules?"Come with me, overwhelming power and madness awaits"
