Gory Games

A few years ago, there existed a University just for those of the more... evil nature. It was soon abandoned when the concept became too hard to manage in practice; after all, most people that wanted to rule the world wanted to do so alone. What happens, though, when rumors fly that something, somewhere, is hidden deep in the ruins of the school that once was, something powerful and dark. Would anyone dare to hunt it?

Achima gazed up at the large, dilapidated building in front of her. She had stayed with her most recent contact, Cipher, for long enough to make sure that he was able to sufficiently start a soul smuggling system. It wasn't long after that deal had been set in place that Achima had heard the rumor of a former university for kishin eggs that taught them how to hone their skills. Her interest peaked, she bid her deal demon goodbye and set out to find out what she could about this old academy.

Now, as the kishin egg pushed through brambles and pricker bushes to get to the door she had spotted, she understood just how abandoned it was. Achima found herself dripping black blood from several cuts on her arms by the time she stood at the door, but it was worth it. The blood sucked itself back into her body and healed the cuts while another tendril stretched out to settle itself just underneath her feet. As she entered, Achima used the tendril to walk on, avoiding even setting a single foot on the rotten wooden boards that looked like they were seconds away from collapse. It was dim inside, but there was enough light that she could make out ancient looking decorations.

Really, the building hadn't be abandoned more than a decade, if even that long. However, the jungle had been hungry to reclaim it's area, leaving the building in the state that the Kishin Egg now found it to be in. Light filtered in from cracks in the walls and doors, from smudged glass surfaces once fashioned into windows. It wasn't much of a sight, now, certainly not one for sore eyes, but it was there, still standing, however well it could manage to do so. So far, it seemed to be that Achima was alone, though, in truth, she really had no way of knowing that.

Some options lay before her, now:

In front of her were stairs leading to the left and to the right, the space between them destroyed, meaning she would have to take one to get to one side and the other likewise, unless she could bridge the gap. Between these stairs were more leading downwards, though they didn't appear stable. On this floor, there were winding passages on either side of her, as well as more that went behind the stairs. Nothing in any direction afforded her any indication of where the treasure may lay.

Achima observed these options impassively, the black blood covering the surface underneath her feet quietly plit pliting as she studied the building. Part of her wondered if anyone even knew this building existed, and if so, who? Regardless, she was relatively confident that she could overpower them.

She hummed quietly before heading for the stairs. Pausing, Achima sat down at the edge of the stairs to examine the crumbled part a bit better. She knew that the black blood underneath her likely needed a surface to adhere to in order to do what she wanted it to, which ruled that out. As far as anything else, she was unsure. Narrowing her eyes and standing up, the kishin egg began to carefully make her way down the stairs. Once she got to the gap, Achima attempted to evaluate the height.

She decided that she would be alright if she just jumped, and so that's what she did. The floor trembled under the impact, but did not give way.

The level she was approaching lacked any sort of light, natural or otherwise, shrouding the space in a color that seemed darker than black. It was almost suffocating, almost palpable. Without a way to see, however, she would never know what was there until she bumped into it.

Achima didn't do anything for a moment, freezing in place. She realized then that she had no possible source of light in the area, and quietly cursed the fact that she hadn't thought of such. Carefully, she began to walk forward with her palm outstretched. When she hit a wall, Achima began to follow it slowly. She couldn't help but let out a small scream of surprise when she brushed against a spider web. The creature luckily wasn't there, and she let out a sigh of relief.
