"Pffffttt..." she said, mildly amused at the topic at hand, "How do you know I'm about on my death bed?"

"If you actually are, then it just shows how bad my luck is with people I want to be friends with." Jay said, patting the quiver at waist. "I told you about my mementos, didn't I?"

"A bit," Phoebe said, her tone softer now as she began to sip at her drink once more. "But don't worry, age won't take me any time soon."

"That's good. Again, I'm glad." Jay said before taking another swig of his drink. "Well, we talked about me a whole bunch. What about you? What are you up to?"

Phoebe paused for a bit, wondering at how much information to reveal on that matter. "Looking for another pet," she replied, vague enough that no one would understand what she meant except for him, not that anyone would be bothering to spy on them.

"Ah. If you need any help with that, I'd be up for it." Jay said, nodding once and drinking some more. "Though I feel like it'd be more convenient if it wasn't a aquatic this time around." He said, choosing phrasing just as vague.

A fake pout met his words but she laughed, "Would you rather it be aerial?"

"Avian." He corrected, though didn't let Phoebe reply to that. "No, it's up to you of course, they're your pets and if you like fish, so be it. I just think that the lengths you have to go to to catch something in the water are much greater than those you have to use for most things else."

A soft laugh and a shrug followed; she was doing a lot of these two things, lately. "I think I've got the aquatic approach covered, for the time being. I think ground or... avian would be better." Curiously, idly, she wondered at the word, thinking that it only applied to things that were actual bird-related. What about bats? Or dragons? Or literally anything that could fly that wasn't a bird?

"Your choice." Jay said also finding that he was shrugging a whole bunch. He took a sip of his drink. "I can only give recommendations as to the kind of creature which might fit. I don't know of locations that might house such creatures, however. You could also go with something that can be considered... multiple things."

"Hmmmmmmmm?" She hummed in geniune curiousity, "What do you have in mind?"

"Well, one of these would be both avian, reptilian and mammalian." Jay said, listing the bits he could remember. "At least. Aerial, too, honestly. I wasn't much thinking about the broader possibilities that some of the animals you have in mind for pets offered."

Phoebe gave him an amused smirk, wondering, still, what he could be thinking of. "What sort of creature would be all three?"

"Should I say it, just like that? Hmm... Just so nobody hears, I'll whisper it to you." Jay said, leaning in closer towards Phoebe's ear. "Griffon." He whispered as he said he would, leaning back. "Though, I guess reptilian isn't necessarily a part of it depending on who you ask. I've never seen one, so I'm not entirely sure."

"Lion bird?" She asked, considering this notion and wondering at how well that might turn out in the future. She certainly could, but they were known to be intelligent creatures, and they could certainly escape far easier than Lady would be able to.

"Lion bird indeed." Jay confirmed, though said nothing else about it for the moment, instead choosing to enjoy his drink.

Phoebe nodded, pulling a notebook out of the bag out of her side. If he were to notice, it was actually the same one that she had used before, though the previous pages had been torn out and discarded at some point since the event. Now, she wrote out the single word across the top line a few pages in, a mental note to do some research on the monster type for future reference. She discarded the topic after that, returning the notebook and pen to her bag. "Other than that, I've mostly just been... well, at school. They're on holiday now, so I mostly have free reign. Dreamer's spending most of her time at the libraries."

Jay looked at what Phoebe was writing, though finding that she was simply noting down the name of the creature looked away before she even finished writing it. "So you're spending your time in the drink?" Jay asked, teasing, though considering he was doing the exact same it would seem a little bit hypocritical. "Ah, you could also look at hippogriffs." He said afterwards, remembering the existence of the other kind of half and half creature.

"Hey, I don't have much else to do besides research," she teased, sipping at her drink as if to punctuate the words. "But that's what Vivian is doing. She wants to pick what we fight next, since she just needs any old monster soul for a while."

"I'd go with a kind of creature that is weak and lives in groups, for efficiency." Jay said, though the advice was obvious enough when someone was looking to power up as soon as possible. If anything is fine, then you might as well be quick about it.

She toyed with the idea a moment, wondering if she could capture a number of monsters at once. Perhaps, she could find several small ones that could gang up together. It was worth a thought. Were pixies things that actually existed, or were those myths? "What sounds interesting to you?"

"I don't know. It was a suggestion, but not my choice obviously." Jay said, shrugging, drinking up the rest of his drink, whichever glass it happened to be. "Speaking of interesting, though, d'you want to go and do something other than getting drunk?"

She shrugged, downing the rest of her drink before casting him a soft smile, "If you want? I don't much care one way or the other!"

Jay produced some money from within his quiver and placed the documents from the counter inside it. Standing up from his stool, he stretched briefly. "How about walking for a while to start with? Maybe something will come up."

Phoebe nodded without hesitation, paying her own tab and sliding off the bar stool. She didn't mind wandering, and as such, didn't really care one way the other about transforming out of her current horn form. "Lead the way," she offered, gesturing to the road ahead of them.
