Lead the way he did, walking forth with his hands folded behind himself; the, strutting along like he owned the place was an apt description. "So, except for drinking and research do you enjoy doing anything else in your time off?" Jay asked, looking sideways and down towards Phoebe.

She shrugged as they walked, hood down since her horns were well covered. "The Monster reasearch takes up a lot of time." Phoebe admitted without care or guilt. "I don't have many hobbies."

"Hmm... That's unfortunate." Jay said quietly, more so to himself than to Phoebe. "Well, catching monsters does indeed sound like something that would keep a person busy. Especially if every time is like Lady. It's not, is it?" He said, now actually talking to the woman next to him.

She offered a shrug, "I hope it's not. Other than hunts, Lady's the only monster I've caught."

"Oh. I guess I just assumed you were at it for a while. Maybe it wasn't too bad, if I got that impression?" Jay said, shrugging in turn. "Say... Would you like to grab a bite to eat, somewhere?"

"Food sounds good," she said, nodding in agreement. After the alcohol, food would certainly help keep the risk of a hangover at absolute minimum. "Do you have any sort of preference?"

"Food has changed enough over the last 230-ish years that I've had to get used to not being overly picky." Jay said, gesturing ahead then. "I have a feeling you know more about where one might get something to eat here in the City, considering that the bar I tried to visit in the first place was closed."

"Sushi?" She asked curiously, wandering off in that direction before he could answer.

"That works." Jay said, though he was already following her when he did so. "I hope you aren't chosing fish because I'm an eagle man." He joked after a moment.

There was a pause as that realization hit her, but it was quickly followed up with her shrugging and proceeding onwards once more, "Actually, joking about Lady gave me a craving."

"I'd have reckoned that handling her food would have been enough to put you off for at least a human lifetime, if it's anything like what we fed her." Jay said, hoping that the reminder itself wouldn't be enough to put her off; sushi did sound good right about now.

"Pfffft," She said, laughing as she shook her head, "Do you realize how many various animal forms I have? I've had far worse cravings than oriental, raw fish."

"Yikes. I've seen you as a ram, but I can't quite imagine the fear you'd strike in grass." Jay said, slowly moving his head back and forth in a mock gesture of morose thoughtfullness. "Personally, I've looked at a hamster weird, but a lot of what eagles find to taste good probably isn't too terrible for a human either, as long as it's cooked."

"Wait 'til you walk around and your stomach growls at the sound of cricket chirping." She joked, shuddering a bit at the reality, now; to be fair, her extinct form could it pretty much anything, though.

"Well, I'm glad I don't get any cravings from the eagle species that are opportunistic predators." Jay said, though looking rather put off by the thought of eating crickets. "That means fresh carrion. I'm glad that it doesn't happen. Very."

"I know how that feels," she said, shuddering at the thought and gagging. Closing her eyes, she waited for her stomach to settle back down before she continued walking, still shaking her head at the idea.

"We should probably stop talking about weird cravings, now." Jay said, after seeing her reaction though once she started walking again.

"Mmm..." She agreed, trying to shake the thought away as she opened the door to the location in question. "Your choice where we sit. I have no preference."

Jay went ahead and sat down off in a corner. When it came to eating or drinking, it was either in a corner where he could see everything going on or where he could most quickly get refills, depending on how he was feeling. Now the reason was slightly different in the fact that there were fewer people and it was somewhat quieter, but it didn't change his choice.

She followed along after him without question or reason, not minding his choice. Sitting down across from him, she took a look at the menu before her, opting for sushi and either rice or noodles, deciding to find a way to make a meal out of some combination of the two. "What are you getting?" She asked him, finally.

He named off a number of the different kinds of sushi on the list, opting to simply go with the sushi and not with much else. "Say, you think they have any sake?" He asked her, looking over the menu to see if the option existed. Apparently, he wasn't quite done with drinking.

She laughed, reaching across the table to flip it over and show him the drink options on the back.

"Oh!" Jay said, looking fairly sheepish following the reveal. It passed fairly quickly, and he added some of the aforementioned alcoholic beverage to his order.

She merely got water for herself, not wanting to mess with her pallet in lieu of spoiling her food.

Now that they were simply waiting for their food, Jay found that he sort of had little to talk about. He leaned back in his chair, looking in the general are of the rest of the restaurant, under the pretence of looking to see if someone was bringing their food along. Really, he was just trying not to stare at the witch across the table from him.
