Quoth The Raven, "Nevermore"?!

Sylas stares into her eyes, and Beyril hears the sound of cackling. "He's a slow learner, this one..." A second Sylas steps out from behind the first, laying a hand on the shoulder of the first. The first makes no notice of this at all, still staring into Beyril's eyes. "Yeah, he's losing himself a bit in your eyes. Or rather, the thing in your eyes. If I'm lucky, I'll be doing all the talking, hahahaha...."

Beyril shook. Looking over to the second Sylas, "T-there's two of you..."

The first Sylas continues to stare into her eyes. The second simply laughs. "Yeah, he's still mulling it over. I don't think he heard you..." The second brings a finger up to his mouth. "Shhh, don't tell him about me. I've been waiting for him to lose his attention so I could come out..." He walks in front of Sylas, clapping his cheek several times. "He's so adorable when he's confused..."

Beyril backed up against the balcony railing, "W-what are you?"

The second Sylas laughs, smiling wide. Wider than one would assume a normal person could. Or rather, like one infected by the madness would smile. "I'm him. Well, I'm him at his core. I'm his madness..."

Beyril suddenly became very afraid, she sunk down onto the ground covering her head with her hands, "Stay away! Please, please, don't hurt me!" She cried, trembling and scared.

Mad Sylas laughs, waving a hand through her head several time. "Couldn't if I wanted to, deary. Really, I have to thank you. You distracted him long enough for me to get out..." Sylas shakes his head several times, looking down at her. "B-Beyril...Why are you on the ground...and why is that....thing in your eye?" Mad Sylas laughs. "Aaaaaand he's back. Took him long enough. Too late, though. I'm already free...."

Beyril pointed to Mad Sylas, "There's two of you. I came to find you because I thought you could help me figure out why Asura's eye is in my eye, but the other you won't leave! Please, Sylas, I don't know what's going on!"

Sylas whips around, and Mad Sylas waves at him. "Hello love, been awhile..." Sylas pales. "You...You're supposed to be locked away...I built a special cage just for you..." Mad Sylas laughs. "You should know, love, that you can't keep a good madman down..."

Beyril shook, "You see him too?"

Sylas shoves him, then right through him. Mad Sylas laughs. "In the words of M.C. Hammer, can't touch this. And now that I'm free, you're stuck with me..." Sylas grumbles, turning back to Beyril. "Dammit...We'll have to deal with him..."

She stood shakily, "Is he- this, my fault?"

Sylas shakes his head, showing her his eyes. While the Kishin eye is not a prominent in his eyes, wit is there. "It's been happening for a while..." "That it has, love. I've been slowly squirming through the bars of the cage, and now I'm out..."

"Why us?" She asked fearfully.

Sylas leans against the railing, and Mad Sylas simply sits in the corner opposite Beyril, chuckling to himself. "I've seen Asura, and you resonated with Lexi, his daughter...that's why..."

"So this all goes back to Asura... Why Asura? He's been dead for years." She seemed confused.

Sylas sighs, stuffing his hands in his pockets.Mad Sylas laughs. "He doesn't want to tell. I'm sorry love, but you aren't gonna have a choice on this one..." Sylas sighs again. "You're right...Beyril, there's a new Kishin, and he's attempting to raise Asura. He's attacking anyone with a connection to Asura...that now includes you, and I've been a target for a while..."

"So there's now a kishin after me?" She swallowed hard, "I'm a dead man..."

Sylas offers her a hand. "Stick with me, Beyril. I'll keep you safe, I promise. You're my student, it's my job..." Mad Sylas laughs at this. "Deary, you and I both know what happens if this new kishin succeeds. Don't act like you can save this girl when you can't even save yourself..."

"There are other people trying to stop it, right? It's not just us?" She asked nervously.

Sylas nods. "There's 3 other Death Scythes, Stein, and Dowan, and another meister. There's also Maka, Kid, and Black*Star...."

"They brought down Asura. Surely this one wont be as difficult..." She reasoned.

Sylas nods. "That was our reasoning..." Mad Sylas starts laughing, doubling over. Sylas looks over at him. "He's going to become annoying very quickly..."

Beyril nodded, "He scares me..."

Sylas nods, watching him. "He scares me too...I've done my best to keep him under wraps, but now...."
