The Hatter and The Hare?! (Mature)

Asuka hugged him tightly, "Physically, everything looks normal to me. If you want to go to the hospital, though, I'll take you."

He shakes his head, leaning into her hug. "I just...I just...I don't know what I need, or what I want...I don't want to be afraid anymore....Don't want to be like I am..."

Asuka nodded, "Stein struggled for a long time, too. Provided, I don't think he could physically see his as another person, but still. Everyone has a part of themselves they fear, and learning to cope with that is part of life. It's not easy, ever. But it's the truth of it."

Sylas shakes his head. "I'm sure Stein's madness couldn't make him writhe in pain on the floor..."

Asuka hesitated, then nodded, "True...."

Sylas pulls away from her, laying back down. "I'm a timebomb, Asuka. There's no hope for me..."

Asuka shook her head, "I wouldn't say that, and you continuing to say that is not helping things."

He sighs, closing his eyes. "I don't have a better word for me. It'll just continue for the two of us. Whenever you aren't around, they'll be here. And they'll wear us away until we're husks they can move in to..."

Asuka nodded, thinking, "I'm trying to do all I can, Sylas... I truly am."

He opens his eyes, looking at her and managing a smile. "I know, Asuka. I know you are, but....there are some things you just can't help....some peoples you can't help..."

Asuka's hands started to tremble slightly, "I see..."

He closes his eyes again. "I had a dream about him. Before I woke up screaming, I saw Asura..."

Asuka sat more rigidly, [color=red]"Oh?"

He nods, the color draining from his face. "I...I don't remember what I saw, exactly. Fire, lots of fire, and....I think I saw myself...I was laughing..."

Asuka shook her head, "Just a dream, then. That's not you, nor will it ever be."

He nods, taking deep breaths. "Y-You should get some sleep..."

Asuka shook her head, "I slept plenty at the hospital."

He nods, starting to pull himself out of bed. "I want to check on Beyril..." He gets on his feet, stumbling forward before bracing himself against the wall.

Asuka held out her arm to help steady him, "Careful..."
There was a loud clattering from Beyril's room.

Sylas pulls away from Asuka, moving while using the wall to support him. He walks into Beyril's room. "Beyril, are you alright?"

Beyril sat in the center of her bed, staring at her arms. She was dressed in nothing, but had a blanket wrapped around her. Her walls and the ceiling were covered in crude, etched drawings of screaming faces, fire burning, and the kishin eye was drawn in blood above her bed. Her arms shook, long cuts down her wrists and on her palms. Her body was covered in drawings with her marker of the kishin eye, as well as symbols unknown to either of them. She shook, "Sylas? What's happening? Please, I can't see." she turned toward his voice, her eyes white all the way across, and her pupils and irises gone.

Sylas pales, turning to Asuka. "Get Aiko. Now!" He half ran, half stumbled, sliding next to Beyril and wrapping her protectively in a hug. "Beyril, I'm right here. I promise, I'm gonna help. I'm gonna help you as best I can. Asuka's getting someone who can help." He craddled her body, rocking her slightly. "Beyril, on my life, everything will be ok..."

Asuka nodded, running to get Aiko.
Beyril's hands shook, "Why is it so dark? Sylas, I can't see anything."

He takes her hands, steadying them. "It's going to be fine, I swear. It's only temporary. We'll get your sight back and everything will be just fine..."

Beyril's eyes started to form tears, "Sylas, I'm scared..."
