The light of golden sun rays shone through the snow covered leaves of the Appalachian mountains, there was a odd silence in the forest though, as if a snow storm had passed through the area, but it was no snow storm that had passed through but something far worse. In a meadow were the remains of countless innocent victims of the forest, Deers, Moose, Bear, Squirrel, Bird, Wolf...nothing was safe from whatever had ran through this forest, there were shattered tree's and blood everywhere and the further in the more carnage there was, corpses that were torn apart hanging from tree's, blood splattered amongst the forest floor, once pure white snow now tainted with the scarlet red of death. Soon it was obvious that animals were not the only meals of the creature in these woods, human remains that were hardly recognizable were in the snow, torn to shreds and eaten, the souls were still intact though, dangling in the air, uneaten by whatever was here.

The trail of destruction soon led to a nearby cave...and inside wasn't the growls or grunts of a vicious beast but instead the loud sobbing of a child, the sound echoing against the walls of the cave and sounding out into the forest, it was up to whoever found this carnage to brave the cave and find the child within...or be sane and run while they still can.

Though not typically one to leave from the comfort of his home some rather unfortunate circumstances led Mel to the Appalachian Mountains. He been out here for a little over two weeks wandering trying to forget the pain he felt in his heart that was weighing him down. So he hiked and hiked until the cold numbed his feelings until his sense grew a little more numb, and before he knew it he had wandered upon something surprising, something gruesome.

Whether it was from the mountain wind or the emotions cascading into them, his eyes was filled with tears. Making it hard to determine what the make up of the gore was that lingered in the broken trees. He followed its path wiping the pain from his eyes as a headache began to form behind them, and when he reached the cave he heard a voice that reminded him of his own childhood. He couldn't help but respond.

"Hello," he called out softly, at first not quite able to muster up the will to shout, the quiver in his voice revealing an emotion that had plagued him more in the past month than any other time in his life. He swallowed and cleared his mind a little more before yelling this time with his voice clear and sturdy. "Hello! What's wrong?" His survival instincts, that typically would have made him nope out of there faster than five nuns in a drug fueled, snuff film shooting, were quite to his pained mind. He walked further in far enough to greet the crying voice in person with a kind wave.

The seocond Mal said hello, the crying stopped and the sound of moving could be heard from the inside of the cave as whatever was in the cave seemed to try and move further away from the entrance. The closer Mal got the more dark the cave got, soon though he would reach the end of the cave and in a single corner was two burning red eyes, each staring at this man with great sadness and fear in them. The white fur on the creatures coat seemed to bristle and shutter the closer the man got, then suddenly the hunched over creature began to speak, it's voice that of a young child and it's appearenced matched that. "P-please leave this place!" called out the child, she still had tears streaming down her cheeks and....there was blood coating her entire body, her fur caked in it. "Warn the people climbing this trail! Tell them that there is something up here! D-do whatever you can to stop me from hurting them! Please!! You have little time before it wants out!"

Mel looked earnestly into the bright red eyes. His feelings were straight forward and simple as his mind began to be distracted with the hear and now. He had received the fear in the childs voice poorly and couldn't help but want to alleviate the feelings that she was having. Mel approached the girl, held his hand out in front of her, and formed a tiny, electric blue ball in his hand. The lukewarm ball of plasma would illuminate the room and, hopefully, provide a momentary distraction. "Hey Bud. Hold this for me pretty please. It'll scare away all those spoopy monsters for a bit."

The young man would throw his hiking bag off of his back and onto the ground. "What is it 25 out here." Though he wasn't dressed for the temperature he ovviously was aware of roughly how cold it was as he shuffled tgrough his well organized bag, taking out his snacks (a variety of dried jerkeys and some swiss chocolate), blankets, water and some tools as he looked for his portable gas stove. He wouldn't seem to mind if wandering eyes or hands interacted with the objects That were being placed on the cave floor. In fact he almost expected it.

"Ah, here we go. This'll bring warmth." Mel pulled out an 8" by 20" metal gizmo with two burners. The little ball, no bigger than a marble, would not last very long. After ten to twelve seconds it would dissolve into a little bit of static. Leaving a small tingle in its holders hands.

Lilebella stared at the bright ball as it was pushed her way, she let out an animal like hiss and she quickly jumped back, falling over her tail. She stared at it a bit longer before she reached out and tested the heat, she then slowly reached out and grabbed the ball, she then held it close to her body and let it illuminate her, showing off her child like features, the wide eyes and puffy cheeks, she stared at the beautiful light with wonder and put it in her scarf, giggling happily as it heated up her chest. "It's so shiny and cute!! Can i keep it?" she asked the young man, not understanding what he meant by 25 out there, she simply shrugged and squeezed the ball close to her body.

She paused when she smelt beef jerky and quickly looked to the food and then in an instant every single bit of it was gone and the small girl was gulping down the remains of the food in an instant. Once done she let out a loud burp and whipped her mouth with one of the blankets and reached for the ball only to find it was gone. "Nooo!! M-my ball!" she cried out, patting at her chest before bursting out into tears, not even caring about the heater or the fact that she ate all this boy's food in one sitting.

As the child began crying, Mel's head panickedly snapped up as his mind raced for an idea, but not before it stopped for a moment, completely in awe with the fact that every piece of jerky he owned had been consumed. Internally morning his chew food, he sighed and let his mind figure out how to assuage the crying child. His arm darted towards his bag, as he looked almost unsure about what he was going to grab as his thought process hadn't completely finished before he acted. He pulled out a Walkie-Talkie ad popped the 9-V battery out of it. Of course none who lived were quite so clever as the Amazing Melrose Melbourne. He was trying something that he hadn't ever really needed to try or thought of trying before, and he cupped his hands over the nine volt battery. "Hey, try this one." This time as Mel opened her hands an electric blue figurine of a smiling girl was laying in her hand. While to a small child's imagination might allow him or her to impose their own image onto the figure, Mel was thoroughly unimpressed with the genericness of the figurine. Even still he did his best to smile like he had crafted man from dust. typically it was Mel would gave the constructs their energy, but by using a battery he should have been able to extend the lifespan of it by at least a few hours. If he was lucky maybe even a day.

Mel seemed, maybe surprisingly, to not be inquisitive or bashful about the child's form. Since he couldn't easily tell if she was unclothed, Mel would remove his coat that would be much to large for the little monster, and set it down beside her. He sniffled a little bit, maybe from the cold or maybe from sadness, as he thought of how his twin sister used to invade the bathroom when he showered to use the bath tub on the other side of the room. She knew nothing of privacy and had no modesty, claiming things like "If you don't like it then you don't have to look," or "What's the difference between this and looking in a mirror," and Mel didn't even really like looking in mirrors when he was naked anyways. Regardless, at this point in his life between his own circumstances and his sisters, he was rather numb to the form of a person's body, especially that of a child.

Mel tapped the top of his sternum. "My name is Mel. Can you do two things for me." He held up one finger and motioned to the coat. "One can you put on this coat?" He pantomimed how he would do it before holding up two fingers. "Two. Can you tell me your name and how you got here?"
