Undead Confederate: Range Wars (MISSION)

Rowan stared at the statue. "I don't think I'll be turning back anytime soon. I have a mission to complete. And when I do, my weapon will have started his journey to becoming a death scythe."

'Wait so she is doing all this for my sake?' Cal thought to himself but let that thought trail it's way to the back of his mind and addressed the statue "...so yea...I don't know what you mean by mental faculties...but I lost pretty much all my memories just around a few months ago before ever finding out I was a weapon person thing...but I can tel you one thing I don't like being told what to do...so yea I'm not turning back."

".......Very well. Thou art doomed. "

Suddenly, one of the orbs arced electricity at the statue.

"Hmm? Very well. The will o' wisps have asked me to aid thou. So, I shall permit the asking of any three questions. Thou are still doom'd, however."

Rowan turned to her weapon and whispered in his ear "What are we going to do Cal? I don't know what to ask that thing." She stared back up at the statue, then returned to looking at Cal "And I really don't believe it when that says it's going to aid us."

"Well I doubt if we ask for three wishes it will go along with that," Cal replied back in a serious monotone whisper "same goes with asking it to answer a paradox...actually that could work due to the fact he wouldn't be able to give us an answer... but hey three questions before death how about first question is 'what is the weakness/weak spot of that thing we are supposed to kill?', second if my paradox theory doesn't work 'what is it's weakness/weak spot?' and as for the third..." Cal paused to think "...if my life was on the line I would have asked about who I am but I can leave that for another day if you can think of a third question that would be of benefit to us great...or yea know we could just leave and he wouldn't be able to kill us because we still didn't get the answer to the questions we never asked....but now I'm curious why would those wisps want to help us?"

Rowan looked up at the wisps "I'm wondering that as well Cal. Something's screwy about that, I can tell you that much."

A bead of sweat went down the side of Cal's head "...Do you want me to be sarcastic or are you really going to keep pointing out the obvious?..." he stood up straight and fidgeted with his gloves "...but either way we need to find out what's up, if your too chicken to ask the questions if we even are going to ask any I don't mind being tortured...I mean doing the public speaking..." he stated in same type as whisper as before

"I canst hear thou, you know. A requirement of being a speaking statue is excellent hearing. And thou pose more harm to me than vice versa. After all, thou doth possess movement. I lack it. And unless thou serveth the revenant, thou art in no danger from the Will O'Wisps."

Rowan yelled up at the statue "We are in the middle of a discussion here. Please just give us a moment to talk." She turned back to Cal, "I don't know what ideas are going through your head, but if you have any. Anything will help."

"If we're gonna pose a paradox upon it, we're gonna need a good one. My idea is this: Could god create a rock so heavy even he couldn't move it?" Rowan said grabbing her head "Even thinking about that one makes my head hurt."

Cal was now looking confused "Why do the will o wisps want to help us...it makes no sense...." he then took notice of Rowan's suggestion "..what? oh yea sure lets use that...so that and asking what the Undead Confederate's weakness is we got two questions....so we still need a third......"

"We're gonna need to brainstorm pretty hard on this. But I know we can come up with something." Rowan half smiled "Let's do this."

"That's an interesting idea Cal. I'm stating to wonder why as well."

Cal turned to the statue "I wish to talk to the will o wisps directly and not to you, for I have a question for them that doesn't concern you for it is not one of the three questions we have chosen for you." He demanded in a tone and manor similar to a king demanding respect that seemed out of character for him...but fitting some how.

"...No. The Will O Wisps are unable to converse directly with those not a Will O Wisp or speaking statue."

One of the Wisps arced electricity at the statue.

"They wish to inform you that should you not hurry and ask, your questions will not be answered. Which would be very, very bad."

Rowan looked at Cal "We better do something fast Cal."

Cal turned back to his meister "we are set on two of our questions...the last one depends on two factors

1: can we put all faith in our paradox and are we ready to fight this thing if we have to
2: or do we want to find out the will o wisps motives for helping us....." He looked at her "It's your call Rowan, as I said I can't trust myself with the final question as I would possible blow it on trying to find out about my past."

"I really don't know Cal. I'm just as confused as you are." She said to him "I'm wracking my brain just to make a decision."

"Should we just ask why the wisps want to help us? Or should we ask what's the statues weakness?" Cal asked his meister "these are the only questions I can see that would benefit us unless you want to ask how the statue is going to kill us."

Rowan held her head. "I don't know Cal. I'm very confused at the moment."

"I'm just not sure what to do. Cal. One side of my mind is fighting the other."

Cal sighed as he looked worriedly at his meister he sighed as he spawned a light barrier at thigh level and sat down on the floating panel of light "Sit down Rowan...." he would force her to sit down if she didn't "..look your well being is more important than asking three stupid questions anyway.....so sit down and talk to me...I'm not just your weapon you know, I'm your partner and I don't know if you see me in the same way but your also my friend and the closest thing I have left to a family...." he looked her in the eye as his fear for her was masked over by concern and determination "....so sit down...talk to me...and get your head straight....as the wisps said in there own way don't rush ourselves we got all the time in the world...."
