Angela stared at his stick tempted to do something really stupid. He liked her enough, right? He wouldn't have it against her if she did that? It was his fault for waving it so close to her face. She blushed slightly as a smirk appeared on her face. Suddenly Angela took a sudden bite off of cotton candy Chauncey'd started pointing at her. Winking at him, she stuck her tongue out a bit.

Chauncey smiled a bit as he watched Angela first think about the actions she was going to undertake and then finally taking them. The stick was bait, really, so that smile and the slight rosy tinge to his cheeks were the only evidence that he thought anything of it at all; things would have been different if he it had been done by surprise, but he had been ready and only went back to wrapping more around the stick. "Convenient, right?" he asked, looking over at her from the corner of his eye, similarly smirking as he popped the end of the stick and all the sugar on it into his mouth.

Angela glanced over at Chauncey feeling her blush grow brighter. He'd planned it! He'd one it on purpose! The witch pouted slightly at the realization. "Very..." Angela eventually said, still feeling like she'd been tricked. In silence, she focused on continuing to finish her cotton candy. "Want some..?" Angela asked as she waved what was left of her treat at Chauncey.

Chauncey was a little worried that Angela's silence wasn't just embarrassment, but he was reassured when she asked if he wanted the rest of her candy. He was almost done with his own, but not quite. "You done with it?" he asked. The thought that she was just trying to get back at him did crop up, but he wasn't going to go for it himself. Although he did want to, a little bit.

"Mmm. I've taken a lot from yours." Angela quickly explained her reasoning. Her way of thinking at that moment seemed simple in its innocence. Was there an ulterior motive behind it? Maybe, maybe not. She still had a blush on her cheeks though.

"That's fine," Chauncey said, shrugging, as he finished wrapping a portion of the candy on the end of the stick like he had been doing the whole time. Just as it seemed like he was going to ignore the offer, he suddenly leaned over and bit down, tearing a fair chunk from what was left over.

Angela was almost convinced he would ignore her offer. That's why she almost jumped in place when he finally did take some of her treat. Her blush grew seemingly brighter as she went on to focus on finishing her cotton candy.

He had to wipe a bit of fluff from his nose, having finally ended up with some sticking to it despite changing his methods to avoid it. "We should head for the tent soon. Wouldn't want to miss getting good seats," he said.

"Mhm!" Angela said, finally standing up from the bench. She stretched her arms a bit and grinned with excitement on her face. "Let's go watch some clowns in action, yeah?"

"Lets," Chauncey said, though before joining Angela in standing, he scraped as much of what was left of his cotton candy to the tip of the longer wooden dowel and did his best to cleanly get it in his mouth. He more or less managed. Breaking the stick in half, he stood up, then headed for a nearby bin.

When they finally found the nearest bin, Angela tossed the stick into it and then rubbed her hands a little. "'Kay, let's go~!" She said enthusiastically, before taking Chauncey's hand.

Chauncey headed straight for the big top, and got the two of them through the ticket-line quickly enough; there weren't many people waiting, yet, since it was still early for the next showing at the time and the amusements outside were as much part of the event as the circus itself.

With the ticket-stamping done and finished, Angela pulled Chauncey into the big top tent with a wide grin spread across her face. She was in awe of the sheer size of the thing as she looked around and up. "We should find a good spot to sit down..." Angela said as she analyzed how many free seats there were. Which row would be the best? The lowest one? The middle one?

Chauncey didn't do much analysing, going straight for the second row from the front, around where he thought the 'front' of the performance would be. He didn't have an experience with circuses, but he could see more or less how things were rigged up.

Seeing that Chauncey wasn't wasting time thinking about seats, Angela followed after him and once he picked a spot, she sat right next to him, making herself as comfortable as it was possible on that kind of seating. There was a wide excited green on her face and the view seemed quite good.

There was a while before the show was due to start, so once Chauncey settled in, his attention drifted once again to Angela. He'd usually have been looking at people filter in slowly, since it was more or less the only other thing happening in the tent at the moment, but Angela was more interesting to him in this situation by far; this being the case, he missed someone entering that on a normal day he ought to have noticed.

Angela on the other hand seemed unfocused. It seemed as if she was absolutely unable to choose what to focus on. Thus, she ended up looking at the stage, at the curtain leading to the back of the stage, the entrance, the rows of seats, and on Chauncey. It was clear it was her first time ever enjoying an even such as that and she wanted to absorb the atmosphere of it properly. "This is so awesome! It's like in all those TV-shows and cartoons!" Angela focused as she finally focused her eyes on Chauncey. The grin wasn't disappearing from her face

"It is," Chauncey easily agreed, nodding, though he really wasn't paying attention to what the stage or atmosphere was and wasn't like. He had a look around, sure, and he did choose the seat they occupied now by looking at things close, but now that they were sat down before the show it was all at the back of his perception, whereas Angela was on the forefront. He smiled, rather enjoying the show of enthusiasm, so much so that he almost didn't pay attention to the little voice coming from the row behind them. 

"You two should kiss..." It said, though the quip wasn't said in the unaffected tone that was most recognisable with it, but as an afterthought and in a worried tone instead. The owner of the voice clutching tightly to her chest a bag, though pressing only on the side opposite of the pocket usually inhabited by Snickers, was looking pale and glancing around as if there was something really quite wrong.

Angela jumped hearing that suggestion. At first, she looked back with an embarrassed look on her face and a small blush on her cheeks. However, her brain quickly clicked as her mind refocused on the tone and the general behavior of the person the voice belonged to. Soon, the blush was gone and Angela frowned somewhat surprised and perhaps even a little confused. "Hey, how did you know we..." Angela said at first, then shook her head. "Nevermind. Is something wrong?" She asked.

"Disgusting people. Disgusting feelings," Aruna said, still watching as people filtered into the seats all around the middle arena. She wanted to put a stop to things right away, really, but nothing happened yet. She wasn't even entirely sure, yet. These people weren't quite like what she felt from the one Kishin Egg she felt, but they were so close... They were close to that, and to the weapons she felt every day. And there were plenty. It looked like she was about to voice some of these thoughts, but people dressed in the various outfits you might expect from circus performers started coming inside as music started playing. Something or other was about to start, and Aruna was worried enough to simply shove the bag she was holding towards Chauncey.

Who, listening silently to the girl after his initial surprise and embarrassment, caught it without problem. He knew right away what was inside, and he knew what it meant. "Gotcha," he said, and bent down to deal with the package.

The first two of those who just entered were wheeling in a raised platform with a ladder, and right behind them was someone who looked to be the ringleader as well as an assistant. This assistant was holding a tablet, hunched over it in a manner that was just as strange as it was protective of the device. The way he was holding himself made his small frame looked smaller yet. The rest were just what seemed like general staff, but there was just something off about all of them. A few faces in the audience were already creasing their brows at them, though as if something or other was stopping them from quite seeing. Once they were all in position around the edge of the ring, the ringleader climbed up to the top of the raised platform and spoke out. They looked just as strange as the rest, and the way they held themselves, nor their looks, quite let you put a finger on whether or not they were a man or a woman.

"Ladies and gents! You may call me Jamblee!" The ringleader spoke, spinning around on the spot atop the platform, grinning a little too widely for comfort. Arms splayed out, scanning the audience, while the assistant worked his way up alongside the ringleader. "Beautiful people of Death City! You are now hostages! Release! Swap like for like: Sleight of hand!"

This feeling that was nauseating for a lot of those unfamiliar with it was unmistakable for those that were; teleportation magic, or something very similar.

"I wouldn't act rashly if I were you... There are still preparations to be made, you see, and your safety depends on them!"

Angela listened to Aruna and bit her lip while frowning. Since the girl was a shaman, it was a clear sign to the witch that her worry and her words meant something bad could happen. When she saw the bag in Chauncey's head she whispered towards the two - "What's with the bag?" Though a part of her started guessing. If she was right then Chauncey was more than ready to fight.
Seeing what was happening in the center of the tent put her on high alert - something was really off about everything. There was this weird sense of danger in her heart as if she got herself into a trap. Unable to properly determine the danger made her feel paranoid as her mind started brutally reminding her that no, she wasn't Aurora and that she was nowhere near as good as her sister in fighting the bad guys.
The real hell would begin when the ringleader finally spoke. Hostages? Release? What was that all about. Only when they got seemingly teleported with the whole tent Angela understood. That's when her anger finally started manifesting. How dared they kidnap them? How dared they disrupt her date? What were they planning?
"Our opponent is a magic-user. I suspect the ringleader. What he said sounded suspiciously like they were dropping the protection, then used their mantra and finally a spell..." Angela whispered to Chauncey. With her fists and teeth clenched she could barely stop herself from dropping her own Protection and just jumping straight into combat - she was waiting for the right moment

"They are," Aru quietly confirmed. She seemed to be looking a little worse, now that the entire arena was filled with anxiety and worry. 

"Now! All of you meisters and weapons no doubt in the audience. We do not want anyone that can arm all you good people, as that would be most troublesome!" The ringleader spoke, their voice alluding to what they were just as little as their appearance itself. It was at about this time that a few weapons started transforming, though this was met simply with the ringleaders magic. "Change one for another! Sleight of Hand!" They shouted over the growing din, and clicked their fingers towards every glowing transformation before it could complete. Each of those clicks made the transforming weapon disappear to instead be replaced with a partially transformed Dark Weapon. It was evident that that is what they were, as they were in the audience and brandishing their weapons towards those nearby, threatening to cause harm if anyone were to try anything. 

"It's your turn, little one, tell me, who's hiding?" The ringleader asked of their assistant, who finally looked to the audience, checking it and his tablet in record speed. Every time he saw something of note, he'd point it out in the audience and the ringleader would swap someone out for another of their own Dark Weapons. It was working just fine, up until the assistant pointed towards little Aruna. Chauncey whipped around to get ready, but in the end, nothing changed. 

That is, besides the until now ever-present, all-too-large grin on the ringleaders face. "What makes you so different!?" they screamed, now suddenly raging that something didn't go quite right. 

Chauncey quickly ran what was happening through his head. "Different, huh? Swap one for another? Man, it's almost too easy to work out..." he said. Apparently, that was enough for him to stand up and reach backwards towards Aru, who transformed into his hand.

Angela watched the scene unraveling before her eyes with sheer disgust and anger. Another magic user wishing to do harm and she was probably the only DWMA aligned magic-user in the area. The worsening state of Aruna was also a great source of concern to her. At that point, it was clear to her that the ringleader's magic could be extremely troublesome. If she'd learned anything important from Ms. Coon back in the academy, it was that a magic-user with trickster-style magic could prove dangerous even to other witches. "Mmm, what, Aruna couldn't be swapped because of what she is, hm?" Angela quickly responded to Chauncey.

In response to the dangerously escalating situation, Angela frowned and took a deep breath. Whispering she started dispelling her Soul Protection. "Soul Protect... cancel" She whispered, releasing her soul wavelength from its magical concealment. Being aware of the potential scale of magic the ringleader could use made her feel more cautious before making plans to engage him as she knew that once the proper fight starts, she won't be able to stop herself.  Releasing her witch wavelength, mixed with the rage boiling inside her already put her into the destructive mood as the sweet voice of the sway inside her head started whispering, encouraging her to burn the whole place down with a few well-placed fireballs.

Suddenly an idea sparked inside her head and Angela started whispering her mantra over and over again as if she was charging something really big. "Fire creation... Fire manipulation..." Angela muttered as a spark appeared underneath her shoes. The spark started multiplying into other sparks and then they all started slithering on the floor like small snakes made out of fire. It was clear they were headed towards the Dark Weapons in a sneaky manner

First off, Chauncey jumped straight up into the back of the row of seats in front, balancing easily as he watched the ringleader fume. He pointed the head of Aruna's form right towards them, and gave them a grin of his own. "You're shit outta' luck, 'cause it looks like we're rocking the perfect trio to take your souls," he said, before jumping right into the arena. With his skates now on his feet and Aruna in hand, there was nothing except perhaps Angela that was more agile than he was within that tent. Crouching down low, he leaned forward, holding Aru in one hand near the head of her weapon form. The shadows beneath his feet turned into something akin to starter block and helped him to shoot forward right towards the base of the rather rickety looking platform that the ringmaster was perched on top of along with their assistant. 

Not that the ringmaster was going to sit there and take it. "Fallen curtain!" the ringmaster shouted, and this was seemingly some sort of password, as each of the Dark Weapons within the audience seemed about ready to either make their way towards the arena or to start exchanging their hostages for the souls they no doubt desired. The ringleader, having had done that, jumped backwards from their elevated position mere moments before Chauncey swing Aruna's hammer form and struck the legs of the platform and sent it tumbling in a heap right towards the entrance. He didn't know where they were keeping those that were actually supposed to be running the circus, but he did know that the entrance of the tent would at this time be relatively clear of people. He, of course, had no idea that they had been transported anywhere in the first place.

Chauncey's epic entrance caused enough of a distraction for the weapons not to notice the flaming snakes getting close to them. Angela grinned widely hearing the enchanter words, taking it as a signal to unleash fiery hell upon those damned souls. Still secretly controlling her flames, Angela stood up and rested her foot on the back of the seat in the first row. "Death yeah!" The witch exclaimed enthusiastically as a wide grin spread across her face. Muttering her mantra through her teeth Angela focused all of her magic. "Fire wings!" The witch chanted the name of the spell, her voice echoing. A pair of bright angelic-looking wings sprung out of her back, immediately launching Angela towards the area.

Hovering above the ground, Angela chuckled and snapped her fingers. Suddenly the flaming snakes jumped towards dark weapons that were attempting to kill the audience members. The snakes that were able to wrap themselves around the dark weapons' limbs started mercilessly burning through their clothes. Flames of rage burned in Angela's eyes as she clapped her hands with satisfaction. "Wing, fire, firewing!" The fire witch started chanting her mantra and then aimed one of her hands at one of the approaching dark weapons. "Fireball!" Angela shouted, shooting a soccerball-sized fireball out of her hand.
