The ringleader watched as their dark weapons fell to the ground, writhing, as they all attempted to get the fiery snakes free of their body. A few of them had the presence of mind to transform, but whether they did or not, it didn't stop the few meisters that would have otherwise been fighting back with their own weapons from treating them to a menace or two; at least those that were able. The ringleader floated to the ground as if suspended with wires and looked to their assistant who happened to fall near the entrance from which the platform went careening outside, and was now armed with one of the dark weapons rather than a tablet. He ran towards the ringleader, the sword that the dark weapon near him happened to be training behind as if ready for a strike. And the ringleader stood there and waited, looking between the assistant and Angela who floated in the air.

Chauncey, at this point, was locked in a fight with a few of the other dark weapons that were posted along the edge of the arena. He was zooming in and out, striking at the weapons while avoiding the counters, but it didn't make it easy to take them down. The fact that they were weapons meant that they could at least somewhat block the heavy strikes of Aruna's weapon form, and they weren't exactly incompetent either. They were doing their best to try and encircle Chauncey, though the shadows which he used to augment his movement made that more than difficult. Still, it was enough that he couldn't easily get enough speed to simply smash through their defences.

The dark weapon that had been attacked by Angela was more than aware of the flashy way she flew into the air and was paying attention. He spun around and, assuming perhaps that there was something solid in the middle of the magic, tried to swat the fireball away from himself as he also moved in the opposite direction of that movement.

The moment the dark weapon touched Angela's fireball, it exploded engulfing him in bright hot flames. The explosion of the magical projectile was so loud it was well heard in the whole tent. With a smirk, she looked towards the assistant, before pirouetting herself higher into the air. As she did that she once again muttered her mantra - "Wing... fire... firewing!". At the end of the maneuver, she stretched her arms to the sides. Two flames suddenly surrounded both of her hands completely engulfing them up to the wrists. However, it didn't seem like the witch was getting harmed by them at all - it was as if she didn't even feel the fire.

"Fireballs!" The witch exclaimed, her powerful voice echoing through the tent. The flames on her hands started forming streams and started forming five fireballs that hovered around Angela. The witch pointed one of her hands at the assistant. One of the fireballs shot out towards him at a great speed. Mere seconds later she pointed her arm at him once more, shooing one more fireball at him. Afterward, she waved her arms sending the remaining 3 projectiles at the dark weapons that were approaching her and Chauncey.

The assistant wasn't even slightly bothered by the flames being thrown his way, or at least so it seemed. Moments before the first ball would hit, the assistant threw the demon weapon straight towards the ringleader Jamblee, then suddenly shot up in the air. Apparently, the magic that allowed Jamblee to land so softly didn't only apply to them, and it wasn't just an aid for landing. Both the fireballs were now heading for nothing. The ringleader proper, even as the blade careened towards them, stood and looked up to Angela. Suddenly grinning, they threw their arms up and shouted out once again as if to an audience. "Change one for another! Sleight of Hand!"

Angela would find herself in the exact same place as Jamblee had been before, with that same dark weapon heading straight towards her. Her own fireball too, though that was less of an issue.

The dark weapons fighting Chauncey had enough leeway to see one of their comrades explode and die right then and there, the first obvious casualty of the fight. They knew they had to dodge, and so they made distance between where Angela threw her fireballs and themselves; they guarded themselves as best they could all the while, but it left Chauncey to do as he wanted. He managed to get out of the slowly encroaching block to his movement and picked up speed quickly, then with a sudden change in direction, headed straight towards one of the dark weapons and spinning Aruna around and out as he headed on past. The impact to the middle of the blocking weapon's crossed arms was enough to send those same arms crashing into his chest with a sickening crunch, making for a collapsed rib cage and sending the near-dead weapon flying towards what would be Chauncey's next target.

In her situation, Angela had mere seconds to react. While what the assistant and Jamblee did was quite surprising, Angela's first reaction was to flap her wings with great power, which propelled her up, out of the way of the weapon. That movement caused the air around her to throw all the dust from the ground flying with her. At the same time, she did a downward slash gesture with her hand, sending her fireball straight at the dark weapon she'd just managed to dodge. So, if it got close enough to the dark weapon it would explode throwing it off the course. Even if the fireball missed, the weapon would fly underneath Angela's feet, missing her legs by mere centimeters.

"Change one for another! Go fuck yourself!" Angela taunted, before chanting her own mantra- "Wing, fire, firewing". The ringmaster's magic was seriously getting on her nerves with his stupid cowardly magic. It made Angela wish she had Aurora's spell set instead of hers. Suddenly, the fire witch used her flaming wings to shot herself towards the assistant, seemingly without thinking. As she flew, she grinned widely and cast a "Fire element weapon enchantment"! What weapon? Well, martial artists and boxers consider their own fists their weapons, don't they? Suddenly, the flames surrounding Angela's hands started burning brighter as she clenched them into fists. It seemed like she was going to punch the dude in the face.

Jamblee floated back down to the ground as Angela dealt with the weapon flying in her general direction, and watched as the fireball hitting it did nothing at all. It was a weapon, after all. Jamblee wasn't all that happy about Angela coming after their assistant, however. "Swap like for like! Sleight of Hand!" they shouted again, and the assistant was replaced with a dummy made to look almost exactly the same. This dummy fragmented into fiery bits as Angela punched it, but it was just a dummy. 

"How very vulgar of you! Most unfortunate that you wouldn't just let things happen, but, alas, we shall be back one day! Show's over, boys and girls! Go nuts!" Jamblee called out to everyone within earshot, and out the front of the tent. "Swap like for like! Sleight of hand!" they called, just as another comparatively large group of corrupted individuals filtered in through the entrance to the tent, the very same that Chauncey had sent the platform through. Of course, the ringmaster Jamblee disappeared and left a dummy in their place, having decided that the plan was very much ruined and there was no point in sticking around.

Chauncey was rather too busy to pay attention to what was happening outside of his little fight, however. While Jamblee was busy with prattling on, Chauncey had managed to follow the dark weapon he had struck in the first place to the next victim who was sent sprawling from the impact. Instead of stopping to take care of it, Chauncey instead continued moving forward and took aim. Using Aruna's weapon form like a golf club, he sent shards of skull towards the face of another of those who had previously been bearing down on him. Even as they disappeared due to the death of their owner, they were enough of a distraction for Chauncey to close the distance and hook the curved scythe-like knife at the back of the head of Aruna's war-hammer form around the neck of his next target. This ended in a quick decapitation and left Chauncey with enough time to survey the situation. That made 3 for him, so far, with one directly by Angela. She was the one who made Jamblee back off, however.

He saw that the weaponless meisters who were by design near each of the swapped-out weapons had managed to finish off all the dark weapons in the audience with few casualties. He couldn't quite see how many it was, exactly. The audience by and large seemed fairly panicked, what with a large portion consisting of civilians and NOT students both. Not that Chauncey could do much about it, as he also saw the inrush of additional enemies.

The moment Jamblee swapped their assistant for a dummy and Angela punched it into bits, she let out an annoyed growl as she launched herself towards the magic-user. Sadly, he'd managed to disappear, so instead, she just destroyed his dummy in the process. Seeing more corrupted souls pouring into the tent, Angela flew up towards the center of the tent as fast as she could. Chauncey and the meisters from the audience were doing a fairly good job, but more enemies could easily change the course of the entire battle. There was no time to consider her options, she needed to at least slow new opponents down before blasting them into nothingness.

"Wing, fire, firewing..." Angela chanted and charged her magic. "Fire creation!" The witch shouted, raising her arms up in a theatrical fashion. Suddenly it was as if her whole body combusted, getting engulfed in flames she herself created. She wasn't getting damaged by the fire though, after all she was the fire witch herself. "Wing, fire, firewing!" Angela shouted the mantra angrily and pointed her hands towards the newly arrived corrupted enemies. "Fire manipulation!" Suddenly the flames around her started forming a fiery vortex extending down towards the ground. The air and dust in the near vicinity started spinning along with the newly created small tornado made out of the terrifyingly hot fire. The vortex started moving towards the corrupted souls, the dust moved up by it would blind them and the hot air would slow them down before the tornado hit. Meanwhile, Angela started chanting her mantra once again, getting ready to bombard the escapees with her fireballs

Both the dummies being smashed likely made sure that Jamblee nor their assistant would be able to come back. That was all well and good, but rather sizeable group of new opponents were about as big an issue. As soon as they all saw Angela wreathed in fire and chanting spells, not being the untrained, stupid sort of opponent, the group scattered in most every direction they could. Few were caught within the tornado, and there were a good amount that transformed and let themselves be wielded by their comrades. This group wasn't all dark weapons, unlike the first. The transformed weapons easily led those that wielded them through the dust. There were a couple that choked on the heated and dust and could barely make headway away from the fire. 

Chauncey watched the situation while he could still take anything but fighting into account, while rolling backwards away from the newest wave of enemies. The number one thing he was concerned of was the audience, who, while being slowly led out the other end of the tent by a few meisters that took the risk to check things were fine on that side, were still more or less stuck within it. There was also the tent, the top of which was quickly collecting all the hot air which Angela's various spells generated. He had no doubt in his mind that it would catch fire soon, which would be trouble. Making Angela chill out, however, he also thought would be folly; for the moment he turned around to pick up some speed once again.

What Chauncey probably didn't take into consideration was the fact that Angela could put out any fire she wanted at any time. The real question was - would she be even able to do that while in the heat of the fight? Her sway was tucked away for too long and that sudden attack only made it fuel Angela's rage quite effectively.

When her fire tornado engulfed its victims and burned them so much they were out of combat. Angela used her magic again. "Fire manipulation!" The witch exclaimed. The fiery vortex started separating itself into thick flame ribbons, which took the shape of big snakes made out of the fire. Gesturing her hands to the sides, the 6 fire snakes flew towards the audience. Their role was the protection of civilians. So, the moment any of the 6 snakes got itself close to a corrupted soul, it would wrap itself around the body of a hostile creature and just like at the beginning of the fight, start burning their flesh - though that time the burns would prove more severe due to the size of those snakes.

"Wing, fire, firewing. Fireballs!" Angela chanted her mantra and spell. Five fireballs formed up around her using the flames around her body as a source that created them. Once again she gestured her hands towards the audience, shooting four of them towards the hostiles that were getting dangerously close to the innocents. The last fireball she shot towards the corrupted individual that was the closest to her.

As the tornado split into those burning serpents, the aftermath of the spell was clear to see. A few deaths, about three souls at first glance, and many more injuries besides. There were a fair number of eggs incapacitated, but some managed to get up nonetheless. The scattering of the enemy forces was effective enough. None of the eggs were really focused on the crowds as of right now, on account of the angry fire witch hovering in the air throwing burning hate in their general direction. A couple of those that only just arrived made the same mistake of attempting to sway the fireballs away, leaving another two dead, but the rest weren't stupid. They dodged and they put their all into that. It lowered the amount of casualties on their side but slowed them down in their efforts. Any dark weapons dropped by those who were caught in Angela's magic transformed and continued there attack. There was also the issue of one of the eggs, holding a large pike, who managed to come out with charred and blackened clothing but very little damage otherwise. Through spinning his weapon and his own resilience, despite being almost at ground zero, he was mostly unscathed. He looked to be keeping back, for now, but his eyes were firmly set on Angela.

Chauncey was still biding his time as Angela pelted the attackers with fire, basically as far back as he could get. Their enemies were rather quickly filling up the arena, though between Angela and the work meisters who were still keeping people organised were putting in, not quite as fast as people were leaving it. Taking note of the situation once again, he decided that about now was the time. He quickly pushed off and picked up speed, twirling Aurna's weapon form in one hand to his side and front. As he approached the nearest opponent to himself, he made sure to only twirl Aruna's form in a vertical fashion rather than horizontal. It was a faint, though, and as Chauncey saw his opponent put up his own weapon to block the vertical strike he quickly switched the twirling to be horizontal. With jump and spin on his own axis, the combined momentum of the strike turned his enemies head to a fine red mist. Upon landing, though, he was pretty firmly within their ranks. With another small push, while turning his skates sideways, plus a little help from Aruna's shadow manipulation, Chauncey flipped in the air, sailing between a pair of strikes aimed for his upper body and legs. 

The landing wasn't so great after that manoeuvre, as he couldn't quite complete a full rotation, landing on his shoulder and having to roll all the way around to get back to his feet in a crouching position. It all left him with a relatively sparse amount of momentum.

Angela was less than satisfied with what was happening on the battlefield. They were getting severely outnumbered and their opponents seemed to start getting the upper hand. Taking two new developments into consideration - the uncertain position Chauncey was getting himself into and the fact that she'd spotted an opponent seemingly resistant to her fire magic only made things worse. Her bombarding tactics didn't slow them down as much as she'd have liked.

Almost as if she'd wanted to attempt an experiment Angela started charging her magic again. "Wing, fire, firewing. Fireballs!" Chanting her magic once again, five more fireballs appeared around her. The witch pointed her finger at the spike guy sending two his way. Right afterward she sent one more into the group that was too close to her date just to slow them down.

That's when she decided to attempt a maneuver. She circled around the area and then dived down towards the corrupted individual that was the closest to Chauncey. Getting dangerously close to their opponents she dropped one of her fireballs to the floor, making it explode at her feet as she flew by. She had the final one in her hand and holding it tight she smashed it into one of the corrupted guys, before propelling herself towards Chauncey. Doing a backflip she landed right next to the enchanter and his weapon. In doing that she also used the pike guy's allies as cover

"Do you guys know how to do a chain resonance by any chance?" Angela asked the weapon-meister pair while looking towards the dark weapons and kishin eggs approaching them.

The pike wielder, knowing full well that impacting the fireballs would make them explode, quickly launched a one-two strike at each of them as they got into range, then just as quickly jumping back while rapidly spinning his weapon. Whether it was some sort of ability or if his skills were just that good, it kept him safe from the fire. He rested the weapon over his shoulder as he saw Angela shoot off towards his allies, though didn't look to be even a little interested in entering the fray quite yet. 

Chauncey jumped up from his crouched position and brought his legs in while in the air to dodge another strike that had been aimed for his body. As he landed, he twisted around and threw a backhand slash with the back of Aruna's weapon form towards one of his enemies. That enemy judged correctly that he needed to get out of dodge, but in jumping back from the attack would find nothing but death. Aruna, in the middle of the slash, changed the length of the blade to it's full, proper extent. It was somewhat thinner than expected of most scythe-type weapons, but the length was all there and the heft came from the hammer section it was still attached to. Chauncey pulled the attack in, slicing his enemy cleanly in half, then followed through towards the next attack heading towards him to deflect it. 

The ball of fire blossoming into an explosion nearby was also a welcome distraction, since those closest to it had to get themselves out of dodge. It forced them to make the fatal mistake of taking their eyes from the one they ought to have been fighting. Holding Aruna's now-scythe-shaped weapon form in a backwards grip Chauncey bent his legs and sprung out towards one of those enemies; hooking the blade around him, he jerked his arm forward ending another enemy once more. Springing away so quickly was also in good timing, as more attacks whizzed past where he had just been. 

The Kishin Egg who happened to get dive-bombed by Angela as she headed over towards Chauncey certainly wasn't ready for the witch to switch so quickly from long to close range and was thus blown away. 

With Chauncey showing that he wasn't just any old one-star meister who had never collected a soul for himself, having had done little but training for a nice long while, their enemies went on the defensive. The fact that Angela landed nearby was no less a reason to be on their guard. 

Chauncey, at Angela's query, shook his head. "We've trained basics a crapton. Barely manage one ourselves," he said, trying to be brief. "Gimme resistance and go nuts," he then added, just as some of the enemies around them started to slowly approach, watching mostly Angela.

At that point, Angela wasn't too surprised that the pike guy managed to survive her strike. His sole existence on their battlefield changed the situation in her head. Despite most of their opponents turning to defensive, they were still outnumbering them quite significantly. Of course, Angela didn't doubt in their skills nor that they would eventually win the fight, but the longer it lasted, the more annoying it was getting. Having their date turned into a battle certainly wasn't the best feeling ever.

A chain resonance would be nice, but since they wouldn't be able to achieve it, she had to just rely on good ol' combat methods. She made a mental note to ask her father to invite Chauncey and Aruna for a resonance training session after that was done. Well, at least she could do some good on the ground since the bombarding tactics didn't seem to work anymore. "Fire invulnerability!" The fire witch cast the spell creating an invisible field between her and Chauncey. "Stay as close as you can..." She told him before clenching her hands into fists. "Fireballs!" A new set of flaming balls of suffering spawned around her, with two directly in her hands and the remaining three behind her back. Using her wings she launched herself towards one of the kishin eggs with a wide destruction-crazed grin on her face. She aimed to hit the asshole with her fireball-coated fist, then launch herself towards the next target.

If the eggs were doing anything, it was dodging that fire. Nobody wanted to be burned alive, least of all by someone that could probably turn up the heat extra hard if you pissed her off. Which they were fairly sure they already managed. The egg that Angela launched towards jumped out of the way straight away, but now that Chauncey had the same resistance as Angela, Chauncey wasn't worried about staying out of her way. He dashed along with her, right behind, and as soon as the egg was in the air he placed the blade of Aruna's form behind them once more, slashing one more enemy in twain. 

Some of the other eggs nearby dashed towards where Angela was headed, now that they saw that she had picked a target for herself. One threw his weapon at her, trying to predict her movement while another suddenly made an unusually large leap to try and slash her down from the air. "Look out!" was the only thing Chauncey could say or do to help, as two of those behind had dashed off after the two of them, only catching up once Chauncey dealt his blow. He was rather busy now backing up while deflecting their blows with twirling forms common to Scythe-meisters.

The pike wielder still watched, though now brought his weapon down off of his shoulder to a more ready position.

It seemed like Chauncey, Aruna and Angela were pretty good as a team - especially in the roles of a bomber, a distractor, or a flanker. Although, perhaps following after the witch into the battle wasn't the smartest idea? Hearing Chauncey's warning, Angela launched herself up, suddenly changing the direction of flight. That was enough to avoid the weapon flying her way. At the same time, she shot two of the fireballs that followed her at the ground causing the one that leaped at her to get engulfed in flame.

For the very first time, Angela didn't dodge the attack unscathed, however, as the corrupted individual managed to slash at her leg, causing it to bleed. In the fever of the fight, Angela didn't notice it at first, not counting for weird wetness underneath the cut and a stingy feeling. Assuming something bad happened she once again launched herself in a different direction - that time towards Chauncey. Her flight direction mixed with her speed caused to slam into the ground with her fist, engulfing herself, partially Chauncey and anyone near them in the flame caused by the explosion of all 3 remaining fireballs she had.

Chauncey was more than too busy to see that Angela had been injured, though he would certainly have been concerned. He blocked each blow directed at him, as blocking is about all that the two opponents let him do, while looking for any chance of a counter. Even with fireballs exploding around him, he focused entirely on doing the best he could to not get himself killed. Without his speed he was little better than average, if at all. At a certain point he couldn't help but smirk when he saw that he backed up past the soul of at least one of those that attacked her. Before Angela slammed the remainder of her payload into the ground nearby Aruna had managed to warn him, so he didn't instinctively place his weapon form in her way. It was a strange feeling to be engulfed in flame but to not be hurt by any of it, though he was glad, as he saw the fate of the two he was fighting. Their weapons thankfully were sent across the tent. 

The extra wave of attackers was starting to look a lot thinner now, with mostly weapons left, though a few that couldn't wield any of those present were around along with the few pairs that survived. All those that didn't have a weapon to protect themselves with were very hesitant to approach. As the fire around Angela and Chauncey went out, the one that seemed strongest lifted his pike weapon and spun it. He then started approaching, slowly, unfazed by the danger that the weapon-meister pair and witch posed.

Dodging the incoming few attacks, Angela once again started preparing her magic. "Fireballs!" She chanted similarly summoning two fireballs into her hands, allowing the remaining three to hover around her. Launching herself above the battlefield once more, she stayed near Chauncey, seeking for opportunities to support him in combat. Seeing one of the remaining hostiles try to flank him, prompted the witch to toss a fireball basically at Chauncey's feet, since he was being protected by her magical aura.

Seeing the "pike dude" finally make his move, caught her attention. Angela obviously noted how easily he was able to deal with her magic, making him, in her eyes, the most dangerous target. The witch landed near Chauncey slamming her fist into one of the dark weapons and glanced over at corrupted meister. "Chauncey! Watch out for the pike guy!" Angela warned.

Chauncey thankfully had Aruna to help him keep tabs on the situation. Aurora's fire burning around him, trailing behind Aruna's scythe form with each swing he took at those that yet survived and were willing to attack. The one that had been attempting to get nearby was focused on Chauncey, missing the fact that Angela didn't lose her focus on the situation when she took off. Soon, he was dead as well. Then, the other one that Angela had punched was so focused on the fireballs that he didn't think clearly enough to properly dodge a simple fist. Chauncey, being told that this enemy was vulnerable, spun Aruna around and took his head. The are around them was suddenly really rather clear. Most of the remainders were burned but alive or fearful enough that they would let their boss take care of things. The people were mostly done being filtered out of the tent.

The man with the pike, seeing more casualties, sighed and spun the weapon. He got into a ready stance as he stopped the movement of his weapon, pointing it straight towards the pair. He didn't seem the sort to speak, like Jamblee, either, judging by the way that he charged straight towards the witch and meister without any warning. Fast.

Detonating her fireballs Angela wanted to get rid of anyone stupid enough to attempt to attack them again. They were doing pretty well. She didn't forget about the pike man though and the fact that he was about to attack them sparked some worry in her. However, her confidence, fueled by them dominating the battlefield caused her to smirk. Crouching she touched the ground - still not noticing the wound on her leg. "Wing, fire, firewing! Fire manipulation." The witch chanted. Two streams of fire shot out of her hands and went towards the pike man. Suddenly they joined and shot up creating a tall wall of fire in his path.

Angela launched herself up as if to get ready for an attack from him - she was ready in case he would just run through or get around it. "Fireballs!" Angela muttered, summoning another set of 5 fireballs.

The pike wielder kept charging even as the wall of fire appeared before him. It was of no consequence, and his eyes just locked with the very top of that wall. With a loud exclamation, the corrupted meister forced the end of his weapon into the dirt of the arena and using it like a pole vault launched himself right over it. He was still holding his weapon, and just as he was at the right angle in the air launched it right towards Chauncey. The pike trailed a strange, black, chain-like object from the man's wrist.

Chauncey, though he should have probably been the first to think of modifying his movement using his weapon, still missed the possibility that their enemy might come up over the top of the wall. As he was glancing to the left and right of the barrier that Angela had erected, his eye only just managed to catch the hint of movement as the weapon was thrown in his direction. He swept Aruna's form from the ready position to one side to intercept the pike but the weight of the weapon and the weight of the throw that had launched it were too much. He barely managed to change the trajectory, pushing it to slice past painfully on his lower left side rather than through the middle of his chest. Otherwise, the sheer force of Aruna's scythe-form and the pike colliding at the strange angle that the sweep had them meet at sent Chauncey spinning around and sliding back across the ground; the breath had been knocked from him at the impact.

To make sure that Angela couldn't hit him while in the air, the pike wielder tugged on the chain and pulled himself towards the pike weapon which was lodged in the ground even despite being deflected by the heavy-weight scythe that Aruna was. Another tug when he was on the ground and the weapon was free and in his hand.

A rookie mistake on their part - the pike guy went over the tall wall created by Angela. Angered that she didn't think of that she tossed her fireball the moment the guy's body found itself above the wall. That wasn't the end of their problems. Because both Angela and Chauncey made the same mistake, despite being in two different positions, Chauncey got himself caught in the attack of the pike guy. How could that guy so easily mess with a meister with a weapon and a witch?

The moment Chauncey was sent sliding across the room, Angela launched herself to the ground and landed to the side from where he was stopped. She positioned herself far enough that if the pike guy threw his weapon at her, it had no chance of hitting him in the process. Their opponent was good at dodging her magic and he'd probably learned from Chauncey's movement. If he was smart he would probably use everything he could against them. Angela grabbed two of her fireballs into her hands and changed her tactics. Slowly moving to the side further away from Chauncey, she finally noticed a weird sharp pain coming from her leg. She didn't look there, as her eyes were locked on their opponent. Finally, she tossed one of the fireballs hovering around her towards the pike guy to see what he would do.

As Chauncey slid to a stop, at about the moment that he felt he could catch his breath again, he folded his legs close to his chest and dug in his hands still holding Aruna into the dirt; the impulse of momentum and added friction made him tumble over and with a push of his arms flip right over and back to his feet in a ready stance. He'd practised enough recoveries to make the movement smooth even despite his injury. It was a superficial cut, but it was bleeding nonetheless and he could feel the war wetness of his blood steadily spread down his side.

The pull that the man had given himself towards his weapon had done it's job and he was unharmed again, once more sprinting right for his target. Apparently, he was targeting Chauncey first, reasons for such unknown.

Angela was having none of it. All she wanted was the fight to finally end. That guy going for Chauncey was annoying, prolong the fight and causing a dangerous situation. No, wait, what if he wanted to bait her into attacking him while he was charging at Chauncey? He seemed quite clever. Angela couldn't risk him harming the enchanter further though.

Aware of the dangers of her actions, Angela launched herself straight at the pike guy and flew to him as fast as she could. Her plan of action was simple - grappling or at least grabbing the man to give Chauncey a chance to strike. In her mind, she already started forming reactions to possible attacks though. After all she was the one charging at him - which put her in a disadvantageous position.

As Angela launched her counterattack, the man's eyes shifted ever so slightly to focus on her rather than his previous target. Whether it was his plan to bait her into making an attack or if Chauncey really was the one who was his target. Moments before Angela would have made contact, the corrupt meister shoved the end of his weapon into the ground and slid; the momentum made him turn almost instantly, dodging Angela's attempt at a grapple and putting him to her side. With the same movement as standing back up to his feet, he spun around and swing the bladed end of the pike at Angela's back. 

The hit was looking like it would land true, at least until the back of the scythe blade of Aruna's form caught his blow halfway. Chauncey had followed Angela, dashing straight towards the man as soon as he saw his attention shift. The blow made Chauncey wince despite him bracing for it and all his momentum was instantly sapped by the impact. He was about to turn his blade towards the adversary, but in the instant after the two weapons clashed the pike-wielder slid his weapon right down the curve of the scythe which had blocked him. Chance was forced to jump lest his legs be taken out from under him, placing the pike at his back and swinging right back up towards Chauncey's head. This was another blow that he was forced to awkwardly catch on Aruna's weapon form. Now in close quarters their fight continued like that, blow for blow, with Chauncey firmly on the defensive and unable to counter due to the sheer weight of each attack.

One would imagine how furious Angela was when that happened. She wasn't even given the time to have her own counterreaction - it was taken away from her. Regardless, now floating above the battlefield she watched the first few exchanges of hits between Chauncey and the pike dude. Bombarding didn't work, a direct strike didn't work. What the ever-living fuck was with that guy and his reaction time?

Angela attempted something completely different. A bait and switch attempt if you will. With the remaining 4 fireballs she flew above the heads of the combatants and dropped 2 of her little exploding projectiles at the ground and no matter what the guy did, he would have to react to them flying at his head, potentially giving Chauncey to get advantage on the attack. When she flew past the meisters, she spun around and sent one more of her balls at them. Since Chauncey was resistant to fire thanks to her she obviously didn't worry about him getting harmed.

Suddenly she also charged again at the pike guy seemingly doing the same mistake as before. However, when she was close enough for him to start reacting, she suddenly got covered in smoke, transforming into her hawk form and flew high up to the top of the tent. Where was her last fireball you ask? Well, the moment she transformed, it started falling towards the pike guy, like a bomb dropped from a plane.

In the middle of exchanging blows with Chauncey, the meister's eyes went wide at about the same time that Angela was dropping her payload from above. Quite suddenly he feigned an attack from above and once Chauncey moved to block it as he had been doing, holding Aruna above his head, in pulling the attack back shoved the other end of his weapon right against opposite side of the shaft. Chauncey had managed to start reacting but it was too late to do anything about it and with a massive shout of effort from the meister he was sent trailing behind the arc of the backward swing; his body swept the fireballs from the air, allowing the enemy to remain, once again, mostly unscathed. Chauncey thought to let go of one side of Aruna's form and also managed to twist in the air to land on his feet a fair distance from his enemy, using the momentum to finally pick up some speed, Aruna trailing behind him. 

The third fireball, thrown as he dealt with the other two, was dodged rather expertly by using another one of those black chains, this time thrown from the wrist opposite that which was attacked to his weapon beforehand. He threw it towards the edge of the arena and immediately tugged on it to pull himself away towards the edge of the area. As he slid to a stop and got the chain free from the barrier between the ring and the seats, either he or his weapon finally noticed the witch once again making a charge for it. He also saw that Chauncey wasn't close enough to interfere. He took a ready position. 

He only saw the mistake he made once he saw the red of the fireball appear through the cloud of smoke, split seconds before he would have thrust towards the witch. He pulled back, spinning his weapon once more just prior to impact. Once the fire cleared it was obvious that their adversary had survived, but the arm he was holding his weapon in was rather badly burned. There was a vambrace or something like one strapped to his wrist, though that too seemed to be in too bad a shape to use any longer. Presumably, the one on his other was still fine.
