Cher Ethel

Gender: Female

Age: 17

Weapon:

Love Interest:

Appearance:
Cher stands at five foot and six inches tall, her frame is considered thin or sometimes even called frail; it's not that she tries to lose weight she just never sees the point in eating when there is so much else to do. Her face keeps itself with a slightly more sharp and pointed angling to her jaw and cheek bones, this keeps her usual expression to something of no nonsense and completely serious, no matter how she may feel. It is rare to see Cher's face to contain a smile on it, she thinks it is way too much work to be arsed with the curving of her lips, usually just letting out a fake laugh when somebody attempts to joke.

Cher's red eyes can hold a multitude of different looks to them, the round red orbs giving off a plethora of emotions constantly outdoing what can be shone with her facial expressions. the casual look she holds is usually based around the current personality taking over her mind at the moment. While normally she holds a calm, almost caring look. This changes drastically when she turns to a more sadistic side. her eyes become as sharp as the weapons she fights with. While this personality is in control she tends to have a look that seems to be leering at others, be it on purpose or not her stare had enough ump to bring a weak willed man to his knees. Finally there is the last personality that takes her over, while in this one her face becomes much more rounded, her eyes become relaxed as she carries an almost worried expression in them.

Cher has red, flowing hair. The ponytail that she dresses her hair up in snakes down her body like a river of fire, not ending until it reaches her upper thigh. Her bangs are all brushed downward but aside from that she allows the hair to flow as it does naturally, not wanting to be bothered with styling that far. Cher will usually keep the ponytail in place with some kind of decoration such as a ribbon, or her favorite a small metal bell. She had a complete set of these bells, one silver, one gold and finally a rather dull bronze one.

While outside of her home she is usually only seen wearing a common school style outfit. Although some may consider it uncomfortable, she prefers it, not to mention it decreases the amount of shopping she is forced to do. While on a mission Cher will dress accordingly, if going somewhere cold she will throw a jacket, coat or cloak over the school outfit. No matter how she is dressed she will always wear some kind of Tennis shoes or sneakers, giving her a good grip for whenever combat may arise. Her strictly work dresser usually adds to the more work less play style that people associate her with.

As for more precise detail; Cher usually has some kind of ribbon on the front of her outfit, she prefers the color red but any will work, as long as its fairly large and frilly, some may say its weird and doesint fit in with her but it has become a habit to wear one for her. If Cher forgets to put a bell or ribbon in her hair the style of her hair will be oddly different as she tends to run her fingers over her head and through the red hair continuously as if a nervous disorder. Her breast size is a size C, or large B

Personality:
Cher has DID, or split personality disorder. Her normal self, or regular personality is a somewhat common high school aged girl, she thinks of how her day is going to go, what others think of her and even sometimes going as far as to think of a boy. Cher usually keeps a steady eye on people, she has never been one to trust others with easily. Depending on how the other person goes about presenting them self, she may go as far as to immediately dislike said person. In Cher's mind first impressions are everything, that's not to say she has to try to look or act appealing while first meeting somebody, she goes to the point of hypocrisy with this, judging other based on how they look and act yet not caring about her own behaviors. While in battle her already strict personality hardens into no joking around.

Cher's second personality is one that only appears while outside of combat. It is most often triggered when she remains outside of any form of conflict for a set period of time, be it physical, verbal or mental. This personality takes a much more Tsundere stereotype. Cher turns into a much more social person. While she does talk more she doesint come right out with what shes saying, she will take on a more shy personality, being a shy social, talking even when not needed but never really being confident in her words. While this Persona is active she has a habit of trying to impress, or just plain help others.

Chers final personality swap is incredibly aggressive. It is usually triggered whenever she is harmed, if its even a small scratch from an opponent or somebody calling her names. Once she enters this personality she will immediately lash out at the whoever caused her the pain, if no weapon is in her hand she will more than likely try and slap the perpetrator. While in this personality Cher becomes ruthlessly aggressive, often shouting out taunts to her opponents or just straight out mocking them. If she is in a group she will try to insult her way to the head of the group, in hopes of leadership over the party.

History:
Cher had grown up just like any of the other slightly insane inhabitant of Death City. Much like most of the others kids in the City she had always wanted to become a Meister when she grew older. She could hardly wait to go to the DWMA, it was just like any other little girl dreaming about being a princess, except Cher's dreams involved slicing horrible Kishin monsters into small bits and feeding her super dreamy weapon partner souls so that he could protect her. Of course no small child's dreams ever end the way they should, Cher's dreaming usually ended with her step mother waking her from her sleep. Cher's step mother's name was Sally, a very simple name for such a complex women. Her dad on the other hand was an incredibly simple man, he was tall, somewhat broad shouldered, yet surprisingly shy for how big he was.

Cher's step mother was incredibly abusive to her. Before Sally and Cher's father had gotten married the women was sweet as a peach, a mask of kindness hiding a thick layer of hatred. It was not just Cher that Sally hated, it was all children, she had no real reason for such hatred. After the marriage Sally had moved in with Cher and her father, that was the point in which things started going down hill. At first Sally treated young Cher normally, she was around 7 at the time and innocent as one could be while living in Death City. After a month or so of living with Cher, sally began to grow bitter and salted towards her, she would go on a long screaming ramble over the simplest things, such as not folding her socks or wearing cloths that did not match. Cher's father would try to intervene, but he was usually met with the same fate as cher was, from his own wife. the punishments escalated quickly, Sally began to stop wasting her time with word and solved all the issues she had against Cher with a simple and swift back hand across the face. again, Cher's father would try to step in, the only thing he had to show for him holy intervention was a red cheek and a cracked ego. Months continued to go on, Sally reverted to primal use of weapons, basically anything that was in her reach or already in hand, including but not limited to: Newspapers, lamps, chairs and of course cooking utensils.

This pattern continued on until Cher had reached the age of ten. Instead of spending her days playing with friends or dreaming of becoming a Meister like she used to, she now spend them cowering in her room, things shoved in front of the door as to keep the psychotic mother out.  She would waste time by drawing with the fews pencils scattered through her room, or rereading old books. Of course she was forced to leave sometimes, such as for school, food and the bathroom. Walking through her house and sitting at the dinner table were her least favorite parts of the day, as they were usually spent trying to dodge various items being thrown at her. One day Cher had walked into her house to see her mother already standing in front of the door, having awaited Cher. Sally held up a piece of paper, it was lined paper with hastily scribbled wording on it. The paper itself had been folded into 3 sections, her Sally's other hand was an envelope, the previous home of said paper. Cher had gotten a bad grade in one of her classes, there had been a group project, and nobody on her team had wanted to work, so the teacher promptly gave them all F's, of course it was nothing Cher would be able to explain before the now already moving hand found the side of her face. Instead of trying to explain herself to her "Mother" Cher ducked to avoid the hand, instantly after the open palm flew by her head Cher had darted, having run under Sally's legs she was dashing towards her room. Having reached her sanctuary Cher had slammed the door shut, the young child began to shove anything she could find in front of her door before diving into her bed and throwing a thin layer of blankets over her head. She sat there for a minute, complete silence. Had her mother left her alone? Was she safe? A smile began to cross her mouth, happiness filled her as safety was realized. Her happiness was ruined. The door shook as Sally threw her shoulder against it, the garbage blocking the way into Cher's room shuffled violently, it was obvious the fortification would not hold. Sally pushed again, and again. Finally the door gave in, slamming against the wall as flew ajar. Sally slowely made her way over to the shaking white pile of cloth sitting ever suspiciously on the bed. Cher could hear her mother getting closer, she jumped out of the covers and slammed her back against the wall, veins of water ran down her face as her mother neared. Upon reaching the bed Sally ruthlessly reached across, grabbing Cher by the hair as she yanked her closer, the mother raised her other hand, a large metal pan raising up to strike. Cher threw her hand out in defense, she was more than surprised as she felt her knuckles hit flesh. Sally let go of the child as she raised her hand up to where Cher had just punched her. It was a weak blow yet her face turned red in embarrassment, she dropped the pan and began to slowly walk out of the room, as if mesmerized that she had just been hit.

Thus was the rise of a new Cher, well, sort of. The young girl loved the feeling of defending herself, she adored the fact that her mother was just punched by her own hand. Yet she did not want to treat everybody like this, thus the two conflicting Personalities split from each other, one of them was made simply to protect herself from a monster. And it did just that, Cher's mother had quickly learned the errors of her ways. Multiple times Sally would raise a hand at the girl, only to be met with a swift jab to her gut, or a poetic slap across the face. This was the epitome of Cher's life at this age, she felt free, and she loved it. From this point on her life was increasingly amazing. She soon got actual friends, and her grades shot up.

Of course, as with any form of popularity, the poison of other people began to spring into her life. By this point it had been a few years, she had just recently turned 16. She had spend most of her spare time learning how to control her separate personality, it sat inside her, waiting for its chance to pounce like a starving tiger. Cher believed she had finally gotten a grasp on the thing, she was actually able to keep herself from smacking somebody if they said something rude about her, while it did take most of her willpower to do, she was proud to have come that far. Every now and again whilst in school Cher would always hear somebody spouting some kind of gossip about, she was more often than not able to ignore it, but the bulling continue to build. People soon saw her as weak, assuming that if she didnt stand up for herself they would be able to continue making jokes about her, some even became rash enough to speak dishonest things to her face. Of course like any stupid school drama, her friends started to believe it, even the ones who didn't stopped hanging out with her just so their own. One day Cher had been walking to the park with two of her close friends, both of which had stuck by her through all of the gossip and name calling. It was a fairly nice day, the sun was high and it was warm, the few clouds that did litter the sky had produced a nice cooling shade. On of cher's friends, Genevieve had pointed down a narrow street. In it was a small plaza, mostly deserted aside from a short and thin man lounging lazily on a pastry cart. Cher allowed Genevieve to lure her towards the pastry cart, she wasn't planning on resisting, the sweet smell of freshly baked treats filled the air with its hook like aroma. Once the two had broken into the plaza the sound of multiple people could be heard from the main road, a group of people, all talking over each other loudly and laughing boisterously began walking towards the plaza. Cher had turned around just in time to make eye contact with one of the other girls from the school. the girl, who was naturally pretty, yet her face was spoiled with a gallon of makeup. Makeup girl pointed towards Cher, acknowledging her existence to the rest of the group, of maybe nine or ten people. The entirety of the group turned at the same time, as if it was a single living creature. The crowd squeezed itself together to fit into the plaza, they hastily made their way towards Cher, a few of them shouting out rude things as they slithered towards her. As if a natural reaction the group made a semi circle around Cher, her back against the warm stone wall behind her. The group of teenager began to verbally attack her, the lies that they spoke stung like a nest of hornets. They questioned her existence, asked her why she was still alive, one or two even went as far as to tell her to end her own life. Cher couldn't take it anymore, she had broken into a cold sweat, tears welled on the edge of her eyes as she struggled to keep them in, and then, the tears disappeared. Cher lifted her hand, swinging it towards the girl directly in front of her, a satisfying smack echoing through the plaza. The crowd fell silent, the girl who had just been smacked starred at Cher in awe. But Cher didnt plan on giving her too much time to react, she jumped on the girl, pinning her to the floor. Cher raised another hand, this time punching at the girls face a multitude of times. By the time the group of people around her had time to react Cher had already gotten off of the bloody girl booked it. She ran, and ran, making it all the way back to her house before collapsing onto the floor, a puddle of tears beginning its decent off of her cheeks. The next day Cher had gotten a letter from her school, it had told her that she would be suspended from the school grounds for a few months on behalf of her violent actions, Cher was sort of happy about that. Once she had gotten back to school Chers Social skills had completely shut down, she buried herself into books, or simply slept through classes, the only time she would talk was if it was with Genvieve, but even then it was obvious that the other girl did not completely trust her after what had happened.

Combat Style:

Up until a point in which Cher is harmed she will always take a defensive stance, her weapon raised relatively high and ready to block. If the opponent attacks in some unblockable way or their barrage of attacks is to much for Cher to take she will be more than happy to dodge with a jump or roll back. Once she sees a moment where her opponent is open she will unleash with a swift, yet strong attack before taking the defensive stance back on.

As soon as Cher is harmed she will switch to her more destructive personality. While this is going on she rarely blocks, relying purely on taking her opponents off guard with an endless onslaught of attacks. On occasion, if she notices the opponent attacking in time she will jump back only to be back on the opponent immediately after. She will usually have tunnel vision while this personality is in control, not paying attention to, or much less caring about anything going on around her.

Miscellaneous: She has a strange and utterly random dislike for anything larger than the DWMA. She has the ability of Soul Perception, but only when her normal personality is in place, if any other personality is in control she cant keep her emotions in check long enough to use the ability.

Strengths:

  • Fast: She is light on her feet and more than eager to dodge an attack.
  • Unreadable: As soon as any form of damage is done to Cher her combat tactic changes entirely, making it difficult for an opponent to get used to her fighting.
  • Fighting: Cher has a fairly good handle of how to use a weapon effectively, for instance she knows when to hold a sword closer or farther from her body for a defensive or aggressive stance.
  • Souls: Her multiple personalities makes it easy for others to form a shallow linking with her.

Weaknesses:

  • Hard to work with: Her constant change of fighting can make it hard for her allies to trust her in battle, at one moment she could be happily dodging a blow, the next she may be lashing out with a constant motion of sweeping attacks, disregarding her team mates completely.
  • Fairly weak: Cher has fairly weak upper body strength, meaning while weaponless she will have to rely completely on dodging or kicks. This also causes drawn out battles to become less in her favor as she gets tired out.
  • While switching personalities in combat she tends to take a minute, to either say some odd one liner, or for her other side to gain its bearings as it is randomly thrown into a battle.
  • Souls: On the flip-side to the strength of it, her multiple personalities cause it to be much harder to link on a deeper level, unless she is close enough to her weapon for all three to link, in which case this could lead to the weapons insanity.
