Appearance: Lean and muscular. He typically wears clothing made of soft, black leather, including a long-sleeved tunic and long pants. His skin color is fairly light with a slight tan. His eyes are bright green, and his hair is long, shoulder-length bright, metallic gold hair. He stands at 6'6" and weighs 250 pounds. He has a large tattoo on his back. The tattoo is of a sword, following his spine, with the pommel at the base of the neck and the point at the small of his back. The sword's hilt is dark green with a thin golden helix, simulating a wire-wrap. The blade is silver. Wrapped around the sword are two golden dragons, Eastern style. Their tails start on the back of his hips, and the dragons follow a double-helix pattern around the sword. Each dragon has a pair of wings that sprout from their backs, near his shoulder blades, and stretch around to his chest, two on each side, one high and one low. Basically, both dragon's top wing reach around to his pectoral muscles, and the other wings reach around to his abdominal muscles, one on each side. At his shoulder blades, the dragons diverge from the sword and go over his shoulders, coiling down his arms until their heads rest on the backs of his hands. The dragons' back claws grip the sword blade near the middle, while their front claws grip the hilt.
He also has a thin scar stretching from the middle of his left eyebrow to the opposite corner of his jaw.

Personality: Outside of battle, Kodai is very quiet and calm. He tends to stay away from other people, especially younger ones. A refined individual, he can usually be found with a glass of whiskey in his hand. If approached directly, he will respond politely but succinctly. He tends to speak in an old-fashioned dialect, even in light, funny situations or tense battle situations. Ever suspicious, he will gather intellect and information on a person before approaching them.  He never smokes, and is heavily disdainful to those who do. He is known to sever cigarettes with a knife, whether or not they are in someone's mouth, and saying very quietly, "Smoking is bad for you. If those things don't damage your health, I might." Despite his closed-off personality, he cherishes friends and is always looking to make more. One thing he is desperately looking for is love. He is very lonely, which is probably the cause of his standoffishness. Kodai can be romantic, even though he is extremely jealous and overprotective. This makes it rather difficult for him to find romance.

Inside of battle, he shows no emotions, not even fear or joy. He will always attempt to win the battle in utter silence. He will do his best to defeat his opponent, even when it is clear that they have the upper hand. When with a team or a partner, he will encourage, rebuke or give them orders as quietly and succinctly as possible. He tends to avoid positions of leadership, as he does not like being in the spotlight. However, when he is forced into one, he resigns himself and really lets himself shine. He never gets angry, even when a team member makes a potentially dangerous or deadly decision. Even if he is hurt, no matter how badly, if he can stand and hold his weapon, he will fight. To make him stop fighting when he is dangerously wounded, it is often necessary to knock him out and drag him away from the battle. If any of his friends or teammates are wounded or hurt, he will instantly fly into a rage and begin attacking the enemy ferociously without any regards to his own safety. He will not rest until the enemy is dead or he is physically dragged away by his other teammates. He will also ignore any attempt to surrender from the enemy in his battle rage. He will only calm down when he is forced away from combat or shown that his injured teammate is alright.

History: Kodai Venator, under the birth name of David Scott, was born to a witch and a human male in Vienna, Austria. His father was an American who moved to Europe twenty years previously. Early on, he showed signs of his inheritance: magic. His own special brand seemed to be that of dragons, so his mother began to train him, as she was the witch of drakes. His father feared his son's power, and so began to abuse him secretly. When David's mother noticed the scars, she knew what her husband was doing. Enraged, she killed him in front of their son. Traumatized, David ran away. He was scarred mentally by his mother's cruelty, and decided to never end up like that. He grew up in a forest, teaching himself how to use magic to help people rather than hurt people, how to use weapons and fight, and how to survive on his own. At the age of sixteen he got his tattoo depicting the dragons.  At age eighteen, he used a spell his mother taught him to suspend his aging, effectively becoming immortal. He could never die of old age, but he still can succumb to other causes of death. At the age where he would normally be 21, he walked across the country, living off the land, until he reached Rome, Italy. He spent about a decade there, learning the language and culture, adding it to his knowledge. At the age when he would have been thirty, someone noticed that he never seemed to age. He was chased out of the city, which had mistaken him as a witch. Forced to leave the country, he caught a ship going to Greece. It was a journey that lasted about a month. He spent another decade there, repeating the process he had done in Rome. Again, someone noticed his unnatural age, and he was forced to leave again. This time, he walked out of Greece, making his way across the continent to China in a trek that lasted ten years. When he finally made it to Hong Kong, he began what was now routine, learning the language and the way of life for that particular area. As usual, someone noticed that he never aged, and he had to leave the country. This time, he made his way across the Sea of Japan by boat. He landed on the northernmost point of the southern island, and made his way by foot to Kyoto, a journey that lasted two years. At the point where he would have normally been 42, he arrived in Kyoto. He spent ten years there repeating the routine before he was forced to leave again. He made his way across the Pacific ocean to America by boat, a trip that lasted about five years. Once in America, he spent several decades living in the Redwood forest of what is now California. There, he adopted the moniker of Kodai Venator, 'kodai' meaning 'ancient' in Japanese and 'venator' meaning 'huntsman' in Latin. He felt this was fitting, since he was indeed ancient, and he felt it was his job to 'hunt' witches. Once he grew tired of the scenery, he trekked across the west to live in what is called the Rocky Mountains. He spent several decades there. He traveled around the continent for a long time, bouncing from one landmark to another, never spending less than ten years at each site. Finally, upon reaching the age of 110, he caught wind of the witch-hunting organization known as Shibusen. He was living in what is known as Mexico then, and he spent ten years making his way to Death City. He spent ten years living in the area, learning the way of life for the city. When he was 120, he enrolled in the EAT class of the Shibusen.
