A new beginning?

A clicking sound followed after she slid the rod into position, followed by the circular  ammo clip like thing on the scythe's head flipping to the side. Forming a right angle between the clip and the blade.

"Ok, good you got it ready to reload. Quickly! Try to shove your wavelength into the round thing at the end! Uhh... I don't know how it works! Just... I dunno! Grab it and think hard or somethin. We can figure out a less lame method of loading it later!"

Kairi kept a tight grip on deren as kataro cut the branch she was on. She could try to use this to her advantage she thought. She did a flip, putting her hand over the clip and focusing on her wavelength, trying to will it to load the clip.
She landed lightly on her feet behind kataro, a few feet away. She still hand over the clip, her wavelength radiating strongly as she reloded her weapon.

"Good enough!" Deren shouted as he felt the clip almost completly reloaded. "Now slide the rod back and get ready to fight up close and personal again. This guy seems to be a multi-form weapon of some kind. Watch his hands and any kind-of spinning thing for the transformation. He'd be vulnerable after the star form, and we should be able ta beat him out if he uses the gun now. He'll probably attack with his sword and his crazy speed, so try using the hooked blade to get around his weapon and keep 'em on the defensive!"

Kataro smiled. "Crazy speed? They haven't seem anything yet." He thought to himself. "Seems like she's not as good as I thought. But she's still formidable. I'm gonna have to attack fast and constantly before I give her a second to fully understand he weapon." He thought to himself. He threw his sword at her then charged at her whille firing shots.

Kairi jumped onto a low branch again , both sliding the rod back and dodging kataros attacks.

She was only on the branch for a split second before jumping back down behind him, and very quickly swinging deren diagonally, so the curved scythe blade would go over his shoulder and pin his arm he had changed to a gun to his side.

"Hmm... I see a few way I could get out if this... But I'll just take the easy route..." Kataro slid underneath the scythe and grabbed his sword. Then he turned around and faced Kairi. "You two are pretty good together. But you could use your scythe a little better. Since the blade of the scythe is curved and so large, you're going to have to turn your body a lot more that you would with any other weapon." He said to them with a slight smile.

Kairi frowned, knowing they had lost. ¨ your pretty great yourself...' she said to kataro. She didnt want to be a bad sport about the loss.

' and thanks for the tip, to be honest.....im not used to scythes yet... ' she admitted wwith an embarrassed smile.

She held deren at her side, still prepared to defend if kataro attacked again.

"Well, that was... something...." Deren mentioned, scratching the back of his head. "I'd say he's done attacking now. If you're ready to try firing, then flip forward the hand-grip thingy partway down. Then, you just gotta use your thumb to pull the backwards trigger that flips out when the grip thingy's rotated forward. It's pretty awkward and unstable, but you'll get used to it. Also, you'll want to hold the scythe blade under your arm and hold the reloading thing with your other arm. The recoil's going to be crazy at first, but after we start ta sync wavelengths, it'll eventually get better!"

Kairi sighed, upset that she had failed.... horribly.... in the fight. She did as Deren said and flipped foreward the hand grip. She positioned Deren, holding the blade under her arm that Kataro's shot had grazed earlier. It stung but she didnt care.

" Ok..." she said as she aimed at a tree in the distance and squeezed the trigger. Surprisingly, she didnt budge as the gun shot.

A series of yellow blasts shot out of the barrel, flashing light and making a solid banging sound as each came out in rappid succession. Each round knocked the barrel off-target as many of then aimed either too high or at the ground due to the heavy weight of the blade and Kairi trying to compensate. In the end, the shots ended up mostly making a diagnol line of holes through the tree. It would be a while before she would be able to use the rapid fire of the gun with consistant accuricy.

Kairi looked at the tree. At first she frowned but then smiled at her work ' well at least i hit it right?' she said to her weapon. ' i just need..... a ton of practice with your type of weapon and then we can kick some kishin ass' she added with a slight giggle. ' you can change back now' she said as she set the weapon on the ground
