Without showing a single ounce of fear, the girl simply cracked her knuckles before speaking in a real slow fashion. "I. Fear. Nothing. Anymore." Her tone was extremely cold, which was mostly caused by the fact that she believed a battle was about to commence any second now, and she was fated to lose, but never the less, she was ready for it.

There was a shift in the man before her. His eyes closed for several long moments, and when they opened, as though he were the cause, a cold wind swept over the training grounds. He grinned, perhaps just a little too widely. "Deary, I'm going to teach you to be afraid..." There was a burst of soul energy, and then a black fog spread from him, rising until it blotted out the sun and the surrounding area, making it seem black as a moonless night. He was no longer visible to her, but she could hear him laughing, a maniacal cackle that would chill a normal person to the bone. "I'm going to make you fear me... and the dark... and death."

Naomi had to admit, such scenery and laughing would drive a normal person to the point of fear where they would piss themself, but she was not one for such fear. Instead, the female actually released a sigh, rolling her eyes as she patiently waited for the battle to begin. "Just try, weapon." She eventually muttered out, getting in her fighting position, letting the last bit of light twinkle in her dim eyes.

The blackness filled the area, and the laughing never stopped. Sylas launched himself at her back from the darkness, cackling, though the sound seemed to come from the air, not from him. His axe blades sprouted from his forearms, and he prepared a non fatal attack, intending to only wound her.

Because of the pure darkness around her, and the fact there were many misleading sounds about the area, Naomi didn't expect the attack, which meant she could only barely dodge it, jumping to the right to the point where the blade only managed to slice the skin on her left arm, making some blood appear. "Alright attack, I suppose, but don't you think you're acting like a coward? Hiding in the dark like this makes you look weak!"

"I don't need the darkness... But I like it." He approached from in front, beginning a series of slashes and thrusts, spears popping in and out of existence to jab at her arms. He continued to laugh. "You're weak. Pathetic. A disgrace. You think nothing scares you? I do. You're facing your death. I...am death." There was a new round of cackling with that, and he redoubled his assault.

Naomi, being only human, tried her best to keep up, dodging as many hits as she could by moving her body in every way possible. Though, despite her efforts, she got hit a decent amount of times, some managing to create a wound on her cheek, arm, leg, ect. Still, with each blow, her smile grew wider. Then, one of his swigs hit her stomach because of her attempt of dodging it changed where it was going to hit, causing the blade to slash her stomach and have blood splatter out a bit, but no to the point of stopping her. "Heh...who said I fear death?" She chuckled, sliding back a couple of feet before throwing 5 daggers, which she got from her many pockets, at various parts of his body. While they flew towards him, she came up with great speed attempting to hit him with an uppercut move. All of this was quite easy with her ability to adjust to the dark and use the little light she has to attack and aim.

Sylas only moved his shoulder so that it would intercept the knives, taking each one with a laugh. The night around her seemed to grow unnaturally darker, to the point where she would need to adjust just to see again. He took her hit before almost literally vanishing into the darkness, his spears striking her from various angles, always aiming for her legs or arms. Despite his nonlethal attacks, it was becoming very obvious that he could kill her.

Most of the spears missed her by luck, but one, just one, managed to hit her leg, even to the point of going through the part of pure flesh, creating a gaping hole the spew out blood. "Arghhhhhhhhh!" Naomi cried, falling to the ground, "Damn you..." Despite the aching pain she felt there, and many other places all over her body, she plucked out the spear before going back on her feet, barely being able to stand correctly without the help of a nearby tree.

OOC: They aren't throwing spears, they're part of his weapon abilities

The laughing grew closer to her, and then he was in front of her, clad in the darkness like a robe, a white mask, not unlike Lord Death's, but far more terrifying. "Don't you understand? I'm death. The true death. Not the fool in the Academy..." The shadows bent until he held the tainted version of his weapon form, leveling it with her neck. "Are you scared yet? Scared to die?"

With the force of a thousand nuns, Naomi pushed the weapon from her neck, throwing a punch at the man's face. "No. Death does not scare me. Death is unavoidable, so why should I fear something I can never escape." She splats with cold eyes, not letting him see the real pain expression that would be laying on her face if it wasn't for the fact that he was there.

The mask shattered, revealing an illusion of her face, broken, bloody, eyes vacant like one who was dead. Yet the mouth moved, and continued to speak with his voice. "Death should fear you more than anything. Nothingness. Nothing at all. You're gone. The void takes you." He swung the weapon at her again, trying to get her to flee the blow aimed for her legs.
