The Search for a Weapon Partner (Finished)

Shizu was still exhausted and was very unaware as to what or where they were or doing. Her vision was blurry from sleep, but she could still make out shapes and colors. Unable to fall back into her seemingly peaceful slumber, the meister sat up and got a chill. When she saw that her weapon wasn't where he was supposed to be, she'd figured that he'd either been movedbor was just being escorted to the restroom or something like that. Though he was much closer than she'd thought. The girl rubbed her eyes and saw what scene had laid before her. Too shocked to scream, she covered her mouth with her hand and trembled. "W-what... d-did you d-do..?" She replied, stuttering from her fear. The blood... it was everywhere seemingly. Each red cross located in the room was mistaken for blood now, because that's what held her attention.

He was paralysed. He was staring directly at her, and could see the horror and shock on her face. "No... Wait , please I can explain! He was... Looking at your feminine parts! I woke up and started freaking out, and he started running so I stopped him and..." He was having a complete break down and got to his knees, "It wasn't my fault! Please stay as my meister! Please!"

No matter how hard she tried to stay calm, but no matter how hard she tried she kept on trembling. The meister slowly slipped out of the hospital bed and looked (from a safe distance) at the body. Luckily, Jeremy was the first being to befriend Shizu in a long time, so she had quite some trust in him. Even though she was still shaken up, the meister grabbed a towel from the nightstand and wiped some blood off of his hat and face.

He couldn't bring himself to look at her. He was still kneeling on the ground, staring at what he had done. The soul was hovering above the body, and Jeremy had finally figured it out . He killed a regular human. A living being. An actual person. He was a murderer. He started trembling. I am a murderer. He couldn't think of anything else to do, so he hugged his meister. "What am I going to do...?"

Shizu didn't know what to do, but she decided to comfort her weapon. The meister hugged him back a little and replied,"I-I don't know... since you were, in a sense,  protecting your meister I'm sure they'd understand." Though, she wasn't sure if that'd serve as an excuse in the Academy's eyes... ut she knew that she'd have to stay on her weapon's side. That's what meisters do.

"Yeah, they should understand. Definitely." He pulled away and looked at the body. "What are we going to do about him? Do we tell the hospital staff?" We paired up just this morning and we've already gotten our first soul, received several scars and killed a man. Shizu is one hell if a partner. He thought as he started wiping the blood from his arm.

"Uh..." she shrugged and looked at the body as well. "I-I guess we should... I'll do it..." Shizu finally decided, trying to act more confident than she really was. Though her efforts were failing. When she stood up, her legs wobbled and she could hardly walk and no, it wasn't from her burns causing her legs pain. The painkillers took care of that. "N-nurse! Nurse!" She called out and leaned on the doorframe that led to the hallway. Since she was still in a hospital gown, a few nurses and doctors alike came rushing, thinking that something was indeed wrong.

Jeremy had no intention of lying, so he put on his nonchalant face as the doctors and nurses came in and said, "I stabbed a pervert. I was only meant to tackle him, but I might have stabbed him as well." He pointed to the body with his clockwork arm, "He was peaking at Shizu while she was asleep." All the hospital workers were staring at him, seeing the blood on his arm. Suddenly, the largest worker tackled Jeremy to the ground and pinned his arms down. He shouted in pain because his burn hadn't healed yet, "What are you doing?!"

Shizu ran at he large worker to remove him from her weapon, but the other staff held her back. "Let us go!" She pleaded and struggled, her somewhat healed burns reopening. The wounds burned almost more painfully than when she'd first been afflicted by the kishin. When the meister saw one of tthe nurses going for the sedate, her eyes widened, but her struggle grew less and less affective.

"Shizu!" He yelled, the artificial arm itself heating up. The large doctor stumbled backwards, his hand burnt. The next thirty seconds were a blur of spinning, smashing and burning. By the time he was finished, they could have been unconscious or dead for all Jeremy could care. He only had one thing on his mind, and that was getting out of there, so he lifted Shizu into his arms and started running. He found a small prick In his arm and saw they had given him sedative. Goddammit... he thought as he slowly fell to his knees.

Shizu held onto the escaping weapon as if holding on for life itself. Though when he started to succumb to the sedative, the meister thought it was her turn to protect her partner. They were almost out of the building, just a little ways away from the lobby. "Come on!" She tried to motivate Jeremy and pulled his arm over her shoulders to act as a support, rushing them out as best as she could. "We're almost home-free...."

Jeremy started running slower and slower. His vision began getting hazy and his breath got heavier. More workers were appearing behind them, and the pair were so close to escape, Jeremy couldn't let himself fall unconscious. All the running I've been doing is probably why I'm fading quicker than Shizu. Jeremy thought as he reached the lobby. The guards behind them fired a taser at Jeremy's back, but the shock was conducted by the clockwork arm. He looked to his meister and said, "Hide in the forested area outside the hospital and wait for me." Jeremy collapsed, unconscious.

"Jeremy!" Shizu gasped and tried the help him up, but to no avail. She whined and looked from him to the workers. I'll be back for you! she whimpered and dashed outside, listening to what her weapon had told her to. When the meister looked back, she saw the workers picking up Jeremy and taking him away. Once I get an opportunity, I'll either take him out once he's released or break him out if they refuse to release him. she decided and dashed into the forest.

Jeremy woke up in another hospital bed, but this time his legs and left arm were strapped down. Now that's strange, why would they not strap down my- Oh Instead of any sort of artificial arm, he had no arm whatsoever. Don't worry, Shizu, I've got a plan. He looked for a closet like the one that the nurse got his arm from, and, sure enough he was in the same room as before. There were several sharp instruments next to him, so he took the closest scalpel with his mouth and threw it to his hand. He cut the bonds on his arm and legs and thought McGuyver it your heart out as he approached the closet. He looked inside and saw his and Shizu's clothes and noticed the closet had wheels for transportation around the hospital and had an idea.

Like Jeremy had asked of her, Shizu waited out in the forest. She had climbed up a tree in order to avoid any attention or detection. I hope they didn't report us... at least my meister card wasn't with my clothes. she thought and sighed. A soft creaking noise caught her attention and she looked down.Fwoosh! The branch that the meister had been resting on had gave-way and down she went. "...Ouch." she muttered and grumbled as she got up from the ground. Lord Death I hope Jeremy gets out soon..."

Go go go go go go STOP He quickly hid in the closet again while more staff passed him. Go go go go go go STOP The genius plan he had five minutes ago wasn't looking so genius anymore. At least he had gotten changed into his regular clothes in the closet. Go go go go go go go YES! He thought as he made it to the elevator. The bad thing was, someone else was getting in. He reached out and wrapped his arm around his throat and held him like that until he was unconscious. Ezio doesn't have anything on me. As he reached the ground floor, he had another realization. The security guards would probably see a walking closet. What have I gotten myself into?

Shizu slowly stood up and winced as she felt some pain coming from her lower back. "I think I landed on a pinecone..." the meister whimpered and rubbed the pain-source. Her hospital gown was worn and tattered, barely serving as a covering. Okay, it's getting dark... maybe I'll check on him? As she started walking, a few thorns poked her feet and arms but she didn't stop until she saw the hospital lights.

Okay, I'm very close to the exit now, just one final sprint. He fixed on his top hat and clockwork arm and grabbed the coat hanger with Shizu's clothes on it with her shoes. Is that strawberry? Why would there be strawberry in a clo- OH RIGHT. 3...2...1... Jeremy burst from the closet and sprinted for the exit. He was so relieved that he made it to the exit until he saw that he had dropped one of Shizu's shoes. Right past a security guard that was chasing him. Shizu, you SO owe me for this. He ran straight at the security, yelling.

Shizu peeked from behind a rather pokey bush and scanned the area for a sign of her weapon-partner. Oh, where is he?! She held her knees up to her chest in an attempt to warm herself. It was getting colder at night and day alike since winter wasn't too far off. Its so cold... it got to the point that her own breath was visible, like a white mist. "I hope he remembers to grab our clo-" A faint yell was heard and the meister peeked from behind the bush again. "Jeremy?"

Jeremy came bursting through the doors of the hospital with a large cut above his left eye and Shizu's clothes in his hand. He managed to dive into a fairly spiked bush in the forested area to hide. "Oh hey Shizu. I got your clothes." He said, half blinded by blood in his eye. He rolled out of the spiked bush and handed Shizu's clothes over.

Shizu jumped and held her clothes close. "You escaped!" She cheered and smiled excitedly. As soon as the weapon had handed her clothes back, the meister slipped on her stockings, obviously freezing from the cold and from being so skinny. "Come on, let's get you out of here and get cleaned up. Okay?" She used some of the cloth from her shirt and wiped off the blood dripping from her wound.

"Yeah, we should probably get going." He picked himself up and started walking in the general direction of his apartment. However, he was quickly stopped by a tree, since one of his eyes were still blind. "Fricking depth perception." He muttered as he rubbed his blinded eye. He saw Shizu wiping blood, "Are you hurt? Give me a look at the wound."

Shizu shook her head and replied,"N-no! I'm just fine..." She grabbed his arm and started leading him. "You, on the other hand, will be needing some guidance." A small grin shone on her face as she leade him closer to the city. "So, er... Where's your apartment exactly?..." the meister asked and looked up at him.

"Er... We'll it should be... " a Jeremy held up his arm, "Wait a second, I don't know how to get to my apartment from here!" His arm dropped to his side and asked, "Could I crash at your place for the night?" He was trying to act like it wasn't a big deal. "What are you grinning about? I just don't know how to get to my apartment from here..."

Shizu twiddled her thumbs and nodded. "Er, I guess that's fine." She replied with a shrug. Soon enough, the sound of the city was heard. I guess we're almost there. she thought and looked at the ground. "I just think it's funny that you don't know where you live! Silly." She started skipping a little and slipped on her shoes when she finally realized she was only wearing stockjngs on her feet.
