Welcome to the DWMA (Open Partnering thread)

Calvin thought for a moment, not knowing exactly what they could do, but did put his hands out for them to transform. "Now, remember kids, if you find somebody you want to partner with and when the weapon transform into your hands and if it feels almost impossible to pick them up, it usually means your souls don't connect. Meaning, you two aren't a good match." He explained, just giving a tiny lesson. He had to think of something real quick to demonstrate.
(Idoc can't nag me anymore. Also, sorry it's short)

The twins gave the cowd of gathered students a smile, before beginning to glow brightly and reshape themselves into the gunblades they were supposed to be, black-bladed Jasmin landing in Calvins' right hand while silver-bladed Alicia landed in his left. A second later, their refelctions appeared on their respective blades, grinning cheerfully. "How about we go through a few simple parry and counter moves before maybe inviting a few of the people gathered here for a showcase duel?" Alicia suggested, as the best to way learn something was to experience it firsthand in her opinion. "Sounds good to me. Calvin?"

Sid started to consider the suggestion to have a sparring match between them and a pair of new students. Sid was a little sketchy with the twins reputation he had heard about. Although experience was the quickest way to learn something. Besides, he was never a man to shy away from risk. If he needed to intervene he would. Although now he found himself searching for a pair that were at least familiar with one another.

Then he spotted a couple of good candidates. "I think we can allow a short match. Juro and Madoka, you two seem to be getting along. Why don't you two help with the demonstration?"

Chicory had to admit that Juro patting her on the head was rather comforting. More so was the fact that he hasn't said anything about what she said earlier. She was sure he heard her, maybe he just had nothing to say about it. That was, new for her to say the least. She smiled behind the cover of Juro's sleeve. He seemed like a very sweet person.

Chicory was surprised however when Sid had called them to take part in the demonstration. She removed her face from the sleeve, yet still hanging onto it. What should she say? Should she say anything? Could she even say "no, thank you" if she wanted? "Uh, yes Sid-sempai, as long as Juro-kun doesn't mind it... Juro-kun?" She asked looking up towards Juro.

Juro snapped to attention when the questions were asked and responded, trying to keep himself from getting distracted. "Oh yeah, sure. Although I question the motive behind having two newly acquainted people fight a certified Weapon Meister pair." He said as he walked forward, standing across from Calvin and the twin pistols.

He continued to look at the demonstrators, guessing they would have to have SOME battle experience to qualify for demonstrating, and doubted they would be able to beat them. He shot a question at Chicory with an easygoing smile. "Can you turn into a weapon to see if we're compatible? Now's as good of a time as ever." He was almost glad that they were being forced to see, since it seemed like they were skirting around that topic and would've continued to do so for a while.

As he glanced yet again at the Twins' souls, he couldn't even begin to shake off the feeling that something was wrong with them, and it was starting to give him a headache.

Calvin raised an eyebrow at the suggestion, and flat out gt wide eyed when Sid agreed t it. He, didn't get all too bent out of shape about it, but he did shoot both the twins a glance. "You know, i'm starting to think that, we, as in, the three of us, can not go out together without fighting at one point or another. You know what we should do next time? Go get ice-cream and volunteer at a orphanage. Their is no way we could get in a fight there." He told them both them, then looked up and started to look around. He, had, no idea who the two were, and, this time at least, it wasn't his fault. He didn't know anyone in the room. Thats when he heard a girl talk, and then a boy. Calvin squinted his eyes and turned towards the voices to see where it was coming from. And, it was the two from the doorway. Calvin bit his tongue a bit before saying, "Hey, Jas, other one," He started, not remembering Alicia's name at that moment in time. "Do you guys have a mode that is, less painful? For the fight of course." He finished, kind of speaking low.

The Twins had done a similar thing and "looked" around the room as much as they could while in weapon form and spotted the two from the entrance as their supposed to be duel partners. After assessing them both it slowly dawned to them that just maybe the male one, which Sid-sensei had called Juro, could be having disabled eyesight. They however did not notice the same about Chicory, as they unconsciously thought that meeting one blind person was enough of a coincidence, they would never suspect a second. And while doing so, they ignored Calvin's comment about getting into fights too often, especially since he owed them a serving of sweets already. They however responded to his question about a more harmless form of them, or at least Jasmin was about to when Alicia cut in. ""OTHER ONE?!" You goddamned jerkass can't even remember my name?! I SWEAR I'm going to rip your balls off!..." She would have continued to insult him, but Jasmin speaking up stopped her. "I'll gladly join you in doing so, but first, how about we do what we were called here for? And yes, uh.... what was your name again, Meister-san? I can't seem to remember the name of my all-important partner... anyway, yes we can make ourselves less life-threatening. Blunt blades and weakened bullets should suffice?", she elaborated, while already making the changes to herself, visibly blunting her edge and regulating the bullets power output. They would still hurt and maybe leave some bruises, but that's about it. The still pissed Alicia followed suit with a loud and clearly sulky "HMPH!".

Chicory walked along with Juro, still holding onto his sleeve like a life vest. She was nervous, but not as nervous as she could have been, she wondered why. When Juro asked her if she could turn into her weapon form she looked up and nodded. "H-Hai." She said, once again going back to her Japanese roots. She let go of his sleeve and placed her hands together in front of her. Her entire body enveloped into a light blue hugh, no, it was different, it kinda looked like the sky. Soon her entire body had changed into a Bō that stood up straight on it's end like a flag pole. Chicory's reflection could be seen within the glimering light of the staff. An exact reflection of her human self looking out towards Juro.

She placed her pointer fingers together within the reflection. "I-I'm ready..." 'I hope' She thought to herself after she stated that. Chicory wasn't very confident in her abilities, regardless of everyone elses praise of them. In all honesty, Chicory was a skilled fighter, and could easily take down 3 people at once... if she had the confidence she could do so. She waited for Juro to take hold of her, extremely nervous. What if she was like the demonstrator meister said and wasn't a good match? Would she hurt Juro? She placed her face in her hands, bracing herself for the worst.

Juro watched their souls a bit more and saw that their was the slightest amount of conflict, which was good for him, maybe if he stayed on the defensive long enough they would mess up or get frustrated with each other... or both. He went to grab for the staff but missed. He stood there for a moment, comprehending that he failed to grab it. He started waving his hand out a bit and bumped the staff, then grabbed it and held it. After a couple of moments of holding it and getting a feel for it, he took a defensive posture with it, geared to dodge, and if they closed into melee, block. "Okay think I'm ready." He said, notifying his opponent and the teacher. it should be noted that he has no knowledge that he can telepethically communicate with Chicory.

(ooc: just planned on lurking and introducing Grey into the world. Maybe get Grey a meister. If there are too many people tell me, and I will back out.)

Grey stood at the edge of the group with the only thing protecting him from one really tall meister's exceptionally large, clammy, sweaty, cold hands and a couple of uncomfortable weapons that the meister had attempted to resonate with. He stood up straight, hands were in his pockets pushing back his trench coat a bit, and a smug grin that was beginning to crest his face. He was pretty sure a weapon and meister who had only just met could beat a meister with two gunblade weapons, but something seemed off about the demonstrators. These five were quite an interesting grouping, but he was still glad he hadn't been forced to interact with them they seemed a bit more eccentric than the people he had met so far. Regardless this will be a good opportunity to see if this academy actually had anything for him, and maybe just maybe a stray bullet would knock clammy hands over here unconscious before he got to Grey. He was ready to leave, but he was curious to see what this school thought having a meister could actually help him with.

Calvin laughed just a bit at that little scene. Not a nervous laugh, but a real, honest laugh. "Oh, calm down, tis was a joke." He told them as he listened to Jasmin talk. He nodded along with her, which, by now meant he was half-assed listining. But was it really his fault? He has ADD and they explain the simplest of things for hours on end. But, also as usual, he did in fact get the gist of it. "Okay, well then." He then looked at Hektor. "I guess, you get first move."

Disappointed in Calvin's meager reaction, the twins decided to let the matter rest, punishment would occur later. For now, they were to deliver a good show to the newbies and they sure as hell weren't going to mess this up over a little squabble. Seeing Juro and Chicory amused them to no end, seeing as they had the clear advantage here. They were even considering going easy on those two, but a good lesson at how a "real" fight worked would toughen them up for the real thing. "Okay, Calvy-boy, no slacking here, even if they're newbs." Alicia was still sulking a bit and kept her mouth shut, cheeks puffed out on her reflection. This didn't stop those two from sending a wave of energy crackling along their dulled blades, signalling that they were ready.

Xavier's eyes swept left and right as he strolled through the halls of the DWMA. Occasionally he checked the scrap of paper that was a map in his hands and nodded assuredly to himself. He eventually stopped at a door and checked the number to the side of it. Shrugging he shoved the map into his pocket, straightened his meister tag on his shirt, and entered the classroom head-first.

"Hello? Is this classroom for people without partners?"

Sid looked over towards the door when he heard it open. "You're in the right place, unfortunately you're late. Kindly stand by and watch the demonstration. " Everyone waited for the new arrival to take his place with the other students before he gave Juro and Chicory the go ahead. "Alright, let's get this started. Begin!" Sid waved his hand through the air to signal the start.

Chicory had felt an overwhelming calmness as Juro was finally able to grab her weapon form. Chicory became increasingly less tense as time past. It cleared her head and gave her strength to think about the situation. While Sid was talking to the late student, Chicory was talking to Juro, her reflection looking straight at him.

"Juro-kun, remember what I told you. I'm an extension of you. Use me to block their attacks and aim for his weapons. I have an idea of how we can disarm them. That should be enough to end the battle if we time it right." Chicory spoke to Juro through the link they now shared, meaning that only Juro could hear what Chicory was saying. Which was good because they would need to communicate to pull this off, and telling your moves to an opponent in battle wasn't the best thing.

At this time Sid had signaled the start of the match. "Juro-kun, overhead strike! It will make it easier to block their counter."

Xavier mumbled an apology as he quickly took his place next to the other students. Watching the demonstration with some interest, he looked around at his fellow peers. He fiddled with the map in his pocket as he profiled some of the other students, but he tried to not divert too much attention away from the demonstration.

(Ooc: sorry I was counting number of posts I wasn't fully paying attention and got ahead of my self. I will try and make sure it does not happen again. Thank you for your warning.)

(Ooc: Okay, I'd just like to state for the sake of future posts in this thread that THERE IS A POSTING ORDER!

(( Don’t sweat it guys! I screwed up the posting order when I was new as well! ))

Juro was slightly startled by the telepathic communication, but quickly accepted it and started to soak in Chicory's every word. Her strategy conflicted with his defensive one a bit, but he decided to trust her as he guessed she had more fighting experience then he did. "If you say so Chicory. By the way I like your weapon form, it's sleek." He conveyed. He added the second part to keep Chicory calm and relaxed (Not that he didn't like her weapon form), because a nervous or panicking partner is never good in any situation.

He exploded into action when Sid signaled the start of the fight. He immediately dashed up to Calvin and initiated an overhead swing aimed for his head (Naturally). He didn't put too much into the swing, as to leave strafing (For bullets) and blocking (for melee) as options. Besides, even if he did put all he could into the attack they would've blocked it anyway, as they were supposedly battle-hardened veterans (He still didn't believe it). He prepared to block or dodge, with the vaguest hope of the attack landing.

Grey noticed the new guy walk in and made quick eye contact with him as he was apologizing for his tardiness.  He hadn't interacted with this person yet, so maybe they were pleasant to be around unlike clammy hands. The over-sized meister had made his way closer to the end of the line  of weapons that seperated Grey from the giant. Taking advantage of the newcomers arrival Grey made his way over to the newcomer casually avoiding the giant (who actually isn't that bad of a guy) while he was talking to a weapon. He looked at the makeshift ring made of chairs down at  the area where Sid normally taught that contained the five fighters.
He watched as the first fight began he was excited to see that the new pair was taking the first move. In his head he played out the moves that he thought the pair would start with; a punch with the end of the strike, a disarming strike to remove one of the guns, or they maybe might ecen sweep the legs of  the opposing meister's. They didn't take any of those options though they went with an overhead strike. He noted that there was a large hanging light that hung behind the bo-staff duo that he thought would be an advantageous area for him to start the fight, so he could utilize his abilities the most effectively. The smug grin on his face became an assymetrical smile. Maybe he could get a shot next, he looked over to the newcomer next to him again  to see if he had a name tag pinned on his shirt also.

Calvin squinted his eyes at the move. Immediately when he saw any signs of movement come from Juro he immediately put up his left hand, but didn't shoot quite yet. Was he the only one who found it weird to have a fight in the class room? Calvin quickly shook that thought out of his head, he really had to focus on the task at hand. He closely looked at what he was actually doing, which, wasn't anything much. Actually, if Calvin could choose a word for it, he would say it was a stupid move. But alas, when he saw that he immediately went down a bit and charged straight for Juro, going to try and avoid the hit by just going straight passed him, hoping he swung too hard and wouldn't to be able to randomly change it to swinging to the side. Once he was going to the side he also slashed at his side, really just trying to cut his shirt more than anything. Once he was passed him he would also turn back around and pick up both pistols to go back on the offensive, and going to shoot six times, three from each gun.

A light scratching could be heard in the hallway. It was almost therapeutic. Graphite rubbing off on thin wood, etching thoughts into a blank space. The empty notebook slowly being filled to the brim with thoughts, thoughts that were private. Thoughts of a recorder. Thoughts of a writer. Thoughts from Dominic Quinn.

'The DWMA, a new fall, a new year, a new group of hooligans and'. Dominic thought for a moment. 'maybe a few Heroes. Today is when students get assigned partners, then have a physical demonstration in the room of Sid Barett. Sid, a zombie instructor, who, while good hearted, is somewhat'. What's the right word? 'misguided in his attempts. I will be surveying the room momentarily to make sure nothing gets too damaged. This school is constantly under construction from the damages that fights can cause on the building.'.

Dominic closed his leather bound journal and slid it into his dark blue messenger bag. The pen slid easily into the jean pocket at his right. A black t-shirt and a gray vest indicated the title of 'School Guard' as Dominic quietly opened the door to Sid's room and slid in, keeping to the wall and awaiting the action soon to follow. He nodded a welcome greeting to Sid from across the room, then turned his attention to the children, scanning them for details. He had read up on the new students so he could protect them to the best of his abilities and could name most of them by their picture lining up with their faces. He also noticed the 'demonstrators' preparing and decided to stay silent for the time being. Dominic stood by the door, against the wall, watching quietly as the scene continued to play out.

"Partner... Partner... What the hell... Why would one need a partner here... I bet it has something to do with that weapon thing those two girls had explained."
Yui grumbled softly to herself while going through the halls. She had been talking with some people around DWMA but was directed to a certain partnering class. She wanted to ask things, but they assumed she was a new student, lost on her way. Heck whatever. She would join this school if she had to. Maybe she would learn some new interesting things. But she felt a bit annoyed that nobody listened to her. Perhaps for the better. She had to contact the higher-ups somehow, like those twins had recommended that night. She looked at each door sign looking for the correct classroom.

When she reached the right door she hesitated. On the other side she heard a lot of noise. She was uncertain if she should enter at this moment. People around her already told her she was late and she should hurry or might miss partnering class. Perhaps people were just testing out their new partners and their compatibility. She slowly and quietly opened the door to have a peek inside, and hoped nobody noticed the door opening.

Inside she saw the guy she had seen at Puerto Rico. And immediately shut the door.
"What is he doing there!?"
She whispered. Leaning against the door. She could just leave. It was not like anyone would notice. She was not a student here anyway. So why would anyone bother to check if she had been to partnering class? The idea of ditching class made her feel uneasy. She never ditched class at home. Why would she ditch now? But this class. She was not expected to be there. Nobody would care. Right...? The thoughts in her mind got her stuck in place. However... That guy was there too, and he would probably recognize her and... and... Probably point out she was a suspicious person. And then people would start thinking. She was walking back and forth in the hall near the door.

Chicory's reflection blushed and shuffled a little when Juro complimented her weapon form. "A-Arigato" She replied nervously. Chicory didn't always get praised for such thing, so she was unsure how to take it. However she needed to focus and she took in a deep breath as she placed her hand on her heart. 'The Bō is an extension of the body, the weapon is a part of the Meister, I, am a part of Juro-kun.' Chicory then had all her focus concentrated on the opponent, as well as the area around Juro. As Juro went for his attack Chicory could easily sense every move, every vibration that came into contact around Juro.

This was what it meant to be a part of the Meister, to feel what they feel, see the world from their perspective as well as yours. The opponent made his move, launching forward to dodge Juro's attack. Only he was just dodging, he was coming in for a counter strike. As the blade came close to Juro Chicory's weapon form seemed to move on it's own. She adjusted herself so that she was in Juro's hand on the side the attack was coming from, and then her form shifted it's position so that the blade hit her instead of Juro, successfully blocking the counter as the blade ran down Chicory's shaft. "Turn." Juro could hear in a calm echoing tone, telepathically once again.

Upon turning to face the opponents Chicory could sense Calvin's movements and feel a shift within the air coming towards them. "Projectiles" Chicory then shifted her form so Juro was holding her in front of him, and as he opened his palm, Chicory would start to spin rapidly in front of him, causing vibrant waves to move through the air, and as the bullets came towards her the wavelength would reflect of of the air and dissipate somewhere in front of Juro. After the blocking of the bullets, Chicory moved back into Juro's grip. "Juro-kun, sweep attack." Chicory stated, trying to get Juro to sweep the ground under Calvin.

Juro was surprised when the weapon seemed to move on its own he supported it in its actions and did what he was commanded to do right up to the point where she asked him to turn around. He was facing the enemy now, and was absolutely amazed at how she blocked the bullets. "Chicory that was amazing! How awesome are you?" He asked mentally with a smile. He dashed forward and with surprising speed slid forward on his knees. He made a fast and wide swing at Chase's knees in an attempt to get Calvin off his feet. "Whatever you say Chicory."

    Grey's mouth dropped a bit and he raised an eyebrow. Grey leans over to the the guy that he came in late as as he watched Juro go for a block that surprised the weapon meister." A skilled man with a stone can beat even a kishin egg if the difference in skill is too great. Chicory, the staff weapon, is quite good, but do you think the two newbies will win." The fight quickly was beginning to get progressively more interesting.

    Grey doubted that there was a person in the room not absorbed on the fight. Chicory was amazing there was no question about it, and she had at least surprised Grey. Then there was the demonstrator, he moved quite fluidly while also holding back his weapons to protect his sparring partner. It was a bit dosapointing that this was only a sparring match. Then the bō staff blocked bullets, and he began to realize why polearm meisters were considered to be so terrifying. He realized that just because she was a bō she was not to be counted out, but Grey still wasn't convinced that they would win. He waited for the guy beside of him with the map in his hand to answer so that he could get some insight on him and hear his opinion.
