"I meant night vision goggles." Candy corrected, as she started to look around the circumference of the house again."I know the pain of GPS. How do you think I got around before I knew my way around Death City? Or how I even got to Death City?"

"Honestly, I'm starting to think you had a few escorts," she teased, finally settling for a particularly beaten up window that no longer held any real glass. She knelt down, setting up flashlights and turning them on as she went.

"What do you mean?" Candy asked, walking slowly as Aurora laid the torches out.

"That you had to literally be lead by the hand," she began muttering as the pile she'd constructed started to collapse, "in order to get there at all."

"Ah. No, I got there fine." She said, pausing for a moment after, as if remembering something or other. "Eventually."

Aurora looked over at her, smirking slightly. "To be fair, I probably had about as much issue. Death City is in the middle of a dessert. I'm from Australia. We don't have actual desserts. At least trees exist."

"I don't think I had an issue with the lack of trees." Candy said. "So, when the pile is done, how do we get them to come out? Do we just chuck a torch into the attic and hope they wake up? Smash a wall?"

"Wait until it's dark. It should catch enough attention on it's own." Saying this, she worked to make sure the pile was actually steady before stepping away from it. "If we have to, we draw attention somehow."

"Waiting. Waiting is so boring." Candy said, as she sat down on the ground a little distance from the pile. "Oh well."

"Well, they won't come out until dark, anyway." She said, laying back and looking up at the sky before pulling her phone out. "You can bug your boytoy if you waaaaant~" she teased, nudging her.

"Boytoy..." Candy mumbled as she fell backwards to sprawl out across the ground.

"Lie to me," Aurora said, looking over at her from the corner of her eye before going back to bug her own boyfriend.

"I'd never." Candy replied, pulling out her own phone. Though rather than bug anyone, she put on some music, albeit quietly to avoid waking the creatures at an inopportune time.

Aurora took easy note of the fact that she hadn't been answered one way or the other. Grinning to herself, she sent a Hey to Glyndwr.

A reply came a few minutes later, Hi, whats up? 

Candy on the other hand rolled over on her side to try and take a peek, though trying to be at least a little bit subtle.

Bored. She began, smiling dumbly at the phone as she continued to type. We're in Europe. Candy wanted to up her soul count and trigger her second power so we're hunting goblins.

It was still daylight; it would be awhile.

The next reply arrived significantly quicker, though whether because he already had his phone or whether it was because he was worried was unclear. Make sure to stay safe ok?


Candy really wasn't having luck with peeking at Aurora's conversation, so instead rolled herself back over and watched the sky. That didn't help her boredom much, but it was something.

Like I can get hurt? I heal, remember. She knew what he meant, of course, but she wanted to set him at ease; if she didn't use her magic, she'd be fine. Aurora could just throw Candy into the thick of it and let her do her stuff. Thinking on that, she looked over at the bored weapon. Smirking, she threw a text Rogue's way: Text her.

Several moments went by where he didn't even check his phone; several more followed where he just stared at it, unsure of why in the world Aurora sent the text or her she referred to. Knitting his brows, he continued to stare at the message for a long while before sighing, backing out of the text and into a separate conversation. Another hunt? He asked the weapon.

If you say so... Came the reply to Aurora's text, shortly followed by another, If youre fighting a group dont let any get around you.


He couldn't help giving advice like that, even if it was obvious...


Right after looking to see who had texted her, Candy glanced at Aurora. The other girl was probably the reason he sent the message. She did reply promptly, also. Yeah. Probably last one for a while. I want to get my ability and after that we don't need to do any more.

I'll fly. It's fine, silly <3 She smiled softly, thinking it over to herself before settling on the reply and sending it through.

Are you sure? He asked, looking at the phone; he typed almost automatically, fingers flying over the surface. Not a second later, another message followed. I want you home before you eat them...
just in case.

I guess you can. Dont leave yourself open just because of that though. His reply was testimony to how he wouldn't stop being worried. 

Candy, too, replied in no time at all. I wasn't planning on eating them where problems can't be deal with. I don't even have any idea about what the power may be.

Well, you can play doctor on me when I get home ;P She giggled at this, rolling on her side, away from Candy as she typed this, hiding her phone a bit.

They're little. I mean, a soul's a soul, but they might not do as much damage as the other two. He looked concerned after the message was sent, and he followed it up quickly. Will I need to come get you?

Itll be a thorough examination ;) Aurora's text didn't dissuade his worries, but it did a good job of making him think about something else for a little while.

Death said that these ones shouldn't be painful because they don't cause further mutations. They make the previous one surface. Even if they were super powerful they wouldn't hurt me. But it's better to be safe just in case. She posted that message and followed it with the reply to the other. I'd like you to.

Will it, really? She teased, trying to force his focus on flirting. The plan was by no means foolproof, and she wasn't going to lie to herself and say that it worked, but it was something, at least.

I'll be there. Came the instant reply, followed again, Do you want me to pick up anything on the way? Food?

Oh it will. Ill have to check everything to make sure you aren't hurt at anywhere you know? A distraction was always nice. Especially this sort.

I don't know... I think I'll probably end up eating on the flight. It is a long one. Candy replied after thinking for a minute. Just bring yourself and we'll see when I'm there.
