Nothing like a bit of spelunking...(open!)

Cali nodded at the bus driver and roughly shoved some money into his outstretched hand. He returned her nod, turned his vehicle around and began to drive off into the distance. Taking a moment to get a good look at her surroundings, Caligo really wasn't that impressed. Then again, she did ask specifically to be dropped off over here in the middle of nowhere, so there really wasn't much to look at. Just sand, sand and more sand. She did have a set objective of coming out here in the middle of the Egyptian desert though, it was to find a very specific building that had been buried underneath the sands over time.

The ancient Egyptians were known for the grand monuments and pyramids stretching off into the sky, built as moments for where their leaders and great pharaoh's were buried. Cali admired them in a way. Their empire stood for such a long time and achieved so much, but was broken apart by petty squabbles that turned to wars. Such a pathetic way to go. She could imagine something like that happening in the present. All it took was a few stupid moves from one country that made another angry enough to start a war. More countries would get pulled into because they were allies with the ones that were fighting, and soon everyone would be killing each other until there was nothing left. Stupid, weak minded pathetic humans.

Caligo began her trek down the long dusty road that eventually faded away into nothing, and soon she found herself kicking up sand as she walked over the never ending dunes. But she had not been stupid, she had planned out this particular trip and had made sure she had been dropped off as close as possible to the ancient tombs without causing suspicion, as well as making sure the hike over to it wasn't very long. Cali allowed herself to smirk for an instant with much satisfaction as she realized her planning had paid off. There it was, the staircase leading down beneath the desert just poking out of the top.

This mission was nothing to special, once more some damned witch thought it was a good idea to try out a touch of necromancy down in that place. Why couldn't they just learn that stuff like that never worked? Wherever the witch was, they had probably already got slaughtered by their own minions and now the dead were coming back to kill the living. Pausing near the gaping mouth of the tomb that lead down below, she fumbled around in her trench coat pocket and produced a wind up torch. The battery powered ones were so unreliable, and if you lost the batteries or they ran out you were screwed. But once more, Caligo had come prepared.
