Sylas nods. "We'll do what we can. It's a promise..."

Sylas pulls away from the door, looking up at the sky. "I find it hard to look up at the sky and not remember that night...The sky was filled with red clouds, lightning struck the city from the orbs over the Academy...They became three Kishin eyes, you see..."

He continues to stare up at the sky, seemingly entranced. "I got seperated from my parents. They were there for the party, but left early because of myself and Rose. We started to leave the city once those flying witches started attacking...then it happened. I got seperated, started roaming through the streets, crying and trying to find them.....He crashed right in front of me during his fight with Lord Death...It was like a nail in my skull, the aura he gave off."

Sylas nods. "I collapsed in pain, and the battle moved elsewhere. But the entire time he was in the city, my head felt like it was being split open..."

Sylas turns to look at her. "I'm telling you this because if he does succeed, it will be worse. My madness, it's slowly...developed over the years. I sacrificed a lot, but I did gain something. My eyes, for one. These let me stand up to Reaver when we fought...But if Asura is revived, You'll have to contain me or kill me."

Dowan knocks on the door quietly. She opens it up a crack, "Is everything okay?"

Sylas turns to Asuka. "I think you should tell her....and I have a bit of a request when you're done."

Dowan steps out, "No, he hasn't."

Dowan lets a few tears fall, "That's horrible. What a bastard. I will do whatever it takes to protect your daughter." She sobs a little, rubbing the tears from her eyes.

Sylas nods, wrapping an arm around Dowan. "It'll be fine...Now, I have a request..." He walks Asuka a few feet from the house, turning away from Dowan. "I-If I do...lose control, make sure Dowan is safe...and make sure, i-if it comes to you having to....kill me, don't let her see..."

Sylas breathes a relieved sigh. "Thank you...I-I...I couldn't...If something happened to her, and I was the cause..." He turns away, a few tears welling in his eyes.

"Sylas?" She walks up to him, touching his arm, "Its time to come inside. We've had enough for today." She nods to Asuka, "Have a good night."

Sylas nods, wiping away the unshed tears. "You're right, of course. Goodnight, Asuka."

Pulling away, she pulls him inside. Closing the door, she whispers, "I need you." She pushes him up against the wall, her lips barely far from his, "Make me forget, tonight," she said quietly.
