Appearance
Gray is quite a short young girl, only standing in at about 5'3" or so, with a non-shapely figure. To be more specific, she has quite a flat chest, but her hips and thighs are slightly flared to make up for that a bit better. All in all, she's pretty pear-shaped, but thin as well, only weighing about ninety five pounds. Slender, flexible and agile describe her well. She has lightly tanned skin and long, messy black hair that reaches down below her shoulderblades. Her bangs are also choppy and swept to the right side, obscuring her right eye completely at all times. What eye is visible is large and bright, deep blue in color, and always very expressive, as it's hard to hide her emotions. Her other eye is quite the same, though it's clouded and blind from a scar that goes through her eyebrow and stretches down her cheek. That's why her hair covers it, and rarely anyone ever gets to see it. Gray normally wears a flowy white tanktop that has thick straps and covers everything up to her neck, other than her arms. It's light blue in color, with a black heart on the chest. She wears skinny jeans underneath that, and brown combat boots on her feet. The only jewelry she wears is her four golden bracelets. They're thin, but have what appears to be silver leaves on them, and look like vines. They were given to her by her mother and are quite literally the only jewelry she'd ever put on her body. She sometimes wears a dark blue denim jacket when it's cold.

Personality
Gray is a very quiet girl who doesn't talk very often. In fact, she's used to being out of the spotlight, and hates to be anywhere near the center of attention. She is very smart, but very shy around people she doesn't know. She doesn't make friends easily at all, but once she does become friends with someone, she almost completely changes. She becomes quite a chatterbox, and loves to be around those one or two people more than anything in the world. She generally tends to steer clear of large crowds, however, whether she's in the middle of things or not. For this reason, she is usually out of the gossip at school, and definitely would not be a popular choice for a partner on anything. She is guarded, and has a thick shell that is very difficult to break. But once you do, you'd find a bright, happy, loving young girl who would be loyal to you till the end.

Those are only the first two parts of her personality. The third doesn't really fit into them. It's the way she is in a battle. When she's fighting, Gray is cold, quiet, quick and calculating, and rarely ever leaves room for error. She plans each step out quickly and precisely in her head, and executes the movements when she can. She does a lot of dodging and avoiding, but when she does hit, it's a pretty strong blow from a girl her size. Of course, she definitely relies on others, and she gets hit as well, but she has never truly been seriously injured in battle. Sure, a few cuts here, a bruise or two there, but no gaping injuries as of yet. She is quick, nimble, and strategizes well, which makes this part of her so much different than the others.

What most people don't know is that she is very sensitive. Little things hurt her and bother her, and she'll just let them sit there and try to hide the fact that she's hurting. She never forgets if someone says something mean to her, which is a flaw in itself, and doesn't operate as well when she has something heavy on her mind. She's very tenderhearted, even to a fault, and almost never allows people to see this side of her.

The last and possibly most important thing about Gray is that she is incredibly family-oriented, and while she doesn't have any family left, her friends are considered her family. She loves with her whole heart, and has an almost mothering, protective soul. If her friend were to get hurt, or be sad in any way, she'd do absolutely anything to make them feel better, whether it be doing backflips or just being there to hold them while they cry. She'd literally throw herself under a train if one of her friends was in danger, because if they died, it would be as bad as if she died, because she takes everyone into her heart. If one of her friends died, it would be like she just lost a piece of her soul, and she would blame herself until the day she died as well.

History
Gray hasn't always been so guarded. In fact, she used to be quite an attention hog. She used to do absolutely whatever she could to get anyone and everyone to look at her. As a child, all she wanted was to perform and live in the spotlight. She got into any and every play, musical, or dance she could possibly get into, and dreamed of becoming a famous actress someday. She lived a peaceful, happy little life with her mother, who was a Meister, and father, who was her mother's Weapon, in their quaint little home in Rhode Island, USA. That was until her father started his decline into evil. It was a gradual change. At first, he just started to distance himself from her and her mother, and then he started to leave the house for extended periods of time. He devoured a human soul one night, and immediately went for his wife when he got back. She loved him so much that she didn't even try and fight, and he ate her soul. Gray didn't see him kill her, but she did walk in right when he was putting the soul in his mouth. Her father had tried to come after her as well, and managed to cut open the right side of her fave before a Meister from the Academy came and saved her with his weapon. From that day on, Gray changed. She decided to defend the souls of the defenseless humans like her mother and father, and joined the DWMA to gain the skills to do so. She doesn't really have a true goal in mind, just protecting and defending everyone that she possibly can.

Miscellaneous
Gray has a few weaknesses that should be noted. She's absolutely terrified of thunderstorms and the dark, and could easily freeze up in fear if she thinks about it too long. She has always hated thunderstorms, but ever since the Kishin incident, she's been too scared to go anywhere by herself in the dark, and sometimes even when she's with someone. Thunder just always freezes her up, no matter what's happening around her. She'll just go stock-still and pale white without warning, which is dangerous if it were to happen in a battle. She also has nightmares at times, and has woken up screaming before over them.
