It's Been a While (Rackie & Lani; Invite)

When Nana got into Jasmine's embrace, she felt that tears appeared in her own eyes. These tears soon started rolling down her cheeks. She closed her eyes as her heart started beating faster. Nunally knew that Jasmine and Joseph are her best and only friends. They were too good for her. Nana felt that she don't deserve to have such great friends because she knew that she is not able to be as great as them.
"Y-You're so nice to me... T-Thank you... And sorry if I've ever caused you any trouble..." Nunally said, crying with happiness.

Instinctively, Jasmine lifted the girl, though she wasn't terribly much taller, holding her close and tenderly. "Trouble? The biggest issue is trying to keep track of you." She laughed idly, shaking her head against the top of Nana's. "Stop fretting so much..."

Nunally's face turned red once again. Jasmine's words and actions embarrassed the poor hybrid. "U-Uh..I'll try!" Nana murmured as she looked away for a moment.

Jasmine smiled, setting her down and stepping back, hands still on her meister's shoulders, "One of these days, we're going to have to educate you on pop culture." She made a gesture towards her tattoos, "Maybe then, you'll at least understand some of these."

Joseph's eyes rolled at this, and he scoffed quitely, looking away, "'Cause we really need her covered in ink..."

Nana tilted her head to the side and looked at her partners, giving them a slightly confused look. "Uhh..Pop culture? Uh..I mean, I've always been curious about your tattoos and their meaning. I couldn't understand why people make them. After all, you don't need them for your survival or anything. However now...I think some people want them, to look better or to show their nature. Am..Am I correct?" She asked.

Joseph scoffed at the conversation, slowly becoming disinterested, leaning against a wall with his arms folded and eyes diverted from them both. Jasmine smiled and nodded, though, working to explain, "It's art," she began. "It's an expression of thoughts, ideas..." she pulled her shirt to the side, slightly, revealing a heart beat tattoo and the top of script for another, "Memories." There was sorrow to her voice as she said the last voice, a haunted look that loomed in her eyes, though it disappeared as quickly as it came.

Nana stared at her tattoos remembering every little and single detail about them. Of course, Nunally wouldn't want to have one. However, she found Jasmine's incredibly interesting. The hybrid narrowed her eyes noticing a strange change in Jazz's soul and feelings. It didn't last for long, however, it was enough for the hybrid to understand, that asking her about her past isn't the smartest idea. The meister looked at Rogue. "I think it's time to go. We should stop wasting our savior's time" The clone said quietly with a slight smile forming on her lips.

Rogue chuckled lightly, a nervous sound that said he was both amused and flattered by her words, "Do whatever you want. I'm happy to help." He gestured towards the door, relaxing in his seat. "You can come by whenever."

Nana bowed with respect in front of the man she considered her savior and then she slowly started walking towards the door. "Thank you again." The hybrid told him as she left the apartment. The light outside blinded her for a second. Everything seemed so new. The meister closed her eyes for a second and took a deep breath. Using the computer in her brain she started to search for answers to her most important questions. Things like: "What is love", "What is the best way to listen to music" and "Types of music genres". So many informations, so much data. Nunally smiled in a strange way, like she was the most pleased and happy person on earth. It was a goofy smile. "I've got so much to learn! I've got so much to experience! I want it all now!" The clone said to herself.

Jasmine laughed beside her, watching the strange, unchackled hybrid as she took in the works with whatvwas basically a new mind. Behind them, Joseph kept his hands lazily in his dress jacket pockets, eyes obviously falsely distracted as he looked around. "Where do you want to go?" He asked before his phone buzzed again. Cursing softly to himself, he pulled the phone free and made a face before sighing. "Actually... Do you guys mind a detour to the airport? And probably a mall after?"

The clone started thinking and planning. She wanted the first day of her new life to be wonderful. Her fresh train of thoughts had suddenly been interrupted as she heard Joseph's phone. Nana stood silently as she started waiting for her partner to finish dealing with his phone. Nunally started humming quietly as she waited for him to explain why he quietly cursed. When Joseph finally spoke the hybrid turned to face the weapon. She was smiling from ear to ear. "I don't mind, let's go!" Said enthusiastically Nunally. However then she realized that she should also ask Jasmine for her opinion. With a blush filled with embarrassment she looked at her female partner. "Uhm.. what about you, Jasmine? Do you want to go with us too?" She asked quietly

Jasmine shrugged, seemingly fairly worry free --- as long as she knew where her meister was. With a grin, she bolted for the car, seeing if anyone would race along behind her. After all, beating her in a foot race was a feat in and of itself, with the amount of training that she was known for. Joseph, however, merely rolled his eyes, following after her at a leisure pace, hands in his pockets.

Nana wasn't sure what to do, so she just walked beside Joseph. He was the driver after all. The hybrid suddenly realized something. Biting her lips she looked at her weapons. "Uh... Wait..I've just realized something... I probably need to find a job, right?" She asked them. Nunally knew so little about life. With her control unit, she didn't need to worry about anything, because her computer would always somehow find a way for her to survive in the world. However, now she was on her own, without the guidance of her A.I system. "Yes...Definitely... I can't wear the same clothes every day... also... It'd be a better idea to move into the school's dorms... Dear Lord, now that I think about it, the A.I of the control unit was actually a little bit stupid... instead of living in the dorms, it decided to find an abandoned ruin and start living there..! I can't believe I've actually managed to survive for two years with such stupid A.I!" The more Nana thought about it, the more shocked she seemed. Then a blush appeared on her cheeks, she knew that without help, she'll be like a child lost in a fog. "U..uhm...Hey.. Jasmine, Joseph..? May I ask you for help.? This one last time? I, I know you've already helped me a lot... But, could you help me a little more? I have no idea how to live in this world. Could you maybe..show me how to survive? You know, until I learn everything I need..?" The hybrid asked them with both hope and fear in her eyes.

Jasmine turned where she stood, already at the car, a smirk dancing across her face, the deviance of it sparkling in her eyes, "Oh, I do believe brother dear has that sorted out-"

"Quiet, you," he said, pressing his hand down on her head, rubbing the top of it a bit forcefully in a somewhat playful, though mostly annoyed gesture. Jasmine just laughed. "You don't have to worry about it," was all that Joe muttered in reply, holding the door open for the girls to enter the car once more.

Nana sighed in relief. She looked at the two with gratitude in her eyes. "Thank you...For everything..." The clone said quietly with a blush on her cheeks. Nunally approached the car and quickly got into the car and on the seat. Though, she couldn't understand the strange smirk and the spark in Jasmine's eyes. The hybrid started wondering what evil thoughts were clouding the weapon's mind.

Beside her, Jasmine seemed in a world all her own, phone out and fingers flying across the keys, music playing too loudly from the earbuds that she wore loosely. Joseph couldn't hear it, himself, between the sound of the wind and the engine. His on-board computer, a bluetooth system hooked into the car itself, read off a single text message from a "Lilian Foster," saying simply "Landing soon."

Nana, who noticed that, started wondering who may Lilian be. After a moment of searching through social media using her computer, the clone decided to ask her weapon. "Hm..Joseph? Lilian is your relative, this is obvious, but... hm.. Is she your aunt, mother or perhaps a grandmother?" Asked Nunally, trying to guess like a professional detective, she was not.

Joseph didn't respond, instead commanding the computer to disconnect to his phone. Jasmine grabbed Nana's hand, squeezing softly in a light indication to request that the questions stop.

The meister sighed very quietly. She closed her eyes and started thinking. The atmosphere in the car... Nana disliked it. Why couldn't everyone in the car at least try to be less moody? Of course, the topic of the mysterious Lilian probably caused the change in the mood. Nunally clenched her teeth, fully aware that any bad feelings between them, cause troubles during resonance. She definitely didn't want her weapons to desynchronize with her wavelength because of misunderstandings between them. What did Nana decide to do? She decided to secretly hack into Joseph's phone.. because why not?

What she didn't realize was the sheer idiocy of her actions, and why would she? The second there was unauthorized interference in the device, it went off like a siren before cutting power to itself immediately. Joseph glared through the rearview mirror at her, but remained silent. Jasmine squeezed the girl's hand again, her expression hard as she looked at Nana.

"He doesn't talk about his family for me." She clarified; they had never explained the dynamic of their family to Nunally, and now was... well, actually the perfect time to start but no one was willing to.

Nana only crossed her arms on her chest and mumbled something quietly. She had such a funny idea, but Joseph ruined her plans... Not everything was lost, however. The hybrid quickly downloaded a text to speech converter app on the phone she had in her pocket and used it to... tell a joke...
"How does a crazy person travel through the woods? They take the psychopath." Said the unnatural female voice like from google translate. Nunally looked through the window with a sad smile on her face. She only wanted to brighten up her weapons's mood, but she worsened her own in the process

Jasmine found herself snorting out a laugh at the words, covering her mouth and look out the opposite window. Joseph smiled softly, though the expression was lost as it went unseen. Soon enough, though, the airport sign could be seen, and the planes could be heard even sooner than that.

Nana smiled softly and closed her eyes. Telling stupid jokes was her only idea for making the weapons smile. She wished she could do more, well, perhaps in the future? The clone started watching the planes landing and starting from the airport. Nana definitely preferred staying on the ground, it seemed... safer and more natural for her

Silence relatively consuming the vehicle for the rest of the drive, Joseph finally stopped, parked, and escorted the girls out. Locking the vehicle up, a new feature showed itself in the form of plated sheets coming down over each of the windows, shielding the content and glass within. A secondary set of locks seemed to pop into place, and the lights beneath the vehicle faded to darkness. Saying nothing, as though it were all normal, Joseph began to lead them towards the airport's baggage claim.

Nana looked at all the security Joseph's car had. She quickly analyzed it, but was unable to understand why Joseph needed such security. The hybrid started following the weapon in silence. In such situations being an A.I controlled idiot was a lot more pleasant, at least for Nana, who had this some sort of naivety, which fueled her imagination. However, when Nana's imagination was becoming too beautiful, it would get crushed by cruel reality in which everything is too overwhelming. Come one, she was only 2 years old and yet she experienced more than some adults, so of course she had troubles with almost everything around her, because she didn't understand the world
