No One Told Us Not To Sooo... We Can, Right?! (Candy/Auro Partnership; Monster Hunt; Rated E; Invite)

Aurora was nowhere near truly awake, functioning enough to maneuver around the house and to the table. The glaze from the cinnamon rolls helped to do the trick, however, and soon she was plating her food, groggy but excited. Rogue didn't say a word, setting a large glass of chocolate milk before her, some weird smoothie-shake thing in front of himself.

Candy was focusing quite heavily on her food rather than the two other people at the table. She was still worried about what Aurora might ask when she regained the ability to form proper, real thoughts. It was going to happen soon enough; Rogue was giving her the fuel to do it, in the form of sweet foods.

With an assortment of mostly fruit, meat, and toast on his own plate, Rogue seemed most intent to down his shake, not bothering with morning talk when neither of the girls seemed to be any semblance of morning people.

Idly, Aurora checked her phone, frowning softly before setting it on the table, waiting for texts. Saying nothing, however, she began drowning her entire plate --- eggs, meat, pancakes, fruit and all --- in syrup, her cinnamon roll already half finished, hanging out of her mouth.

The one moment that Candy looked up from her own food, she saw what Aurora was doing to her own. While she wasn't surprised, she still thought that it was weird, however many times she saw something like that happen with the other girl. Her expression reflected that though, before she went back to minding her own food rather than looking at Aurora's.

Drowned in syrup, the entirety of Aurora's meal soon disappeared, and she chased with her chocolate milk before opening a bottle of water. Humming softly to herself, she took her dishes to the kitchen, cleaning them before settling onto one of the living room couches, channel surfing in silence. Rogue looked to Candy, confused.

Candy returned his confused glance, though shrugged and did the same as Aurora had soon after, having eaten her fill. Maybe the two were confused about different things, though that wasn't of importance. Candy sat down on the couch she had used as her bed for the night, idly watching Aurora flick through the channels.

Soon, she handed the remote over, idly surfing the internet on the phone, bored, disinterested, and detached from the world around her. Rogue set about cleaning up the rest of the table, soon reappearing and settling in the living room chair, colors flashing up and down his form as his eyes closed.

At this point, Candy started getting concerned. Aurora wasn't behaving right, and Candy probably knew the reason. With a sigh, the girl switched from her own sofa to sit next to Aurora. She didn't say anything at this point.

She said nothing, closing her eyes idly as she waited for someone to say something, via it one of the two present or her boyfriend through text. Rogue continued to clean, silent.

Candy sighed once more, as she put her hands behind her head, looking up at the ceiling. "Are you going to help me eat the soul today?" She asked, unable to think of anything else.

Aurora's eyes opened, concern painted across her expression. Nodding, she got up from the couch, moving to the back room to pull the soul from her roommate's suitcase. In the kitchen, Rogue became increasingly more tense.

While Aurora got the soul, Candy went to find something to bite down on after swallowing the orb. In the end she ended up with a shirt wrapped up tightly.

Rogue's eyes went wide as he watched her, understanding somehow, though he could not explain. Swallowing hard, he watched Aurora bring the wendigo's soul forward, and the way it's energy vibrated and seemed to silently out at them terrified him. "What... what was that...?"

Candy waited patiently on the sofa to be handed the soul, and for Aurora to get ready, too. Candy was ready for this to be just as painful as last time, which would make it slightly less unpleasant. Hopefully.

Aurora settled down beside her, working to fall into resonance with the weapon, hoping to ease the process. The witch held out the soul for Candy, waiting in silence to see if she would take it. Rogue felt as though his ears were bleeding.

Candy took the soul in one hand and the shirt in the other. Without thinking about it too hard, Candy first put the soul in her mouth, promptly followed by the shirt. Not long after that, she was curled up on the sofa, clutching whatever it was that her hands happened to land on first; all this was underlined with a scream, somewhat muffled, but not by much.

Aurora fought to maintain some semblance of a steady resonance with her weapon partner, gritting her teeth as she clung just as tightly to the girl's hand as Candy clung to her own. Her mind fell into focus, despite the stress, and her soul fell into the steady rhythm that their chaotic partnership somehow pulled together. The bouncy ball's soul realm appeared and twisted just as it had the first time, the structures bulking and reconnecting until, once more, a double helix swirled amidst the center. As it had before, the structures wavered and flashed, flickering occasionally as the wisps left behind by the monster's soul dove about them, teasing, tempting, and corrupting fragments at its own whim. The witch's eyes followed these reactions, and soon enough, her body followed where her eyes guided, and she watched as her focused brought to life the images of these changes.

On one, a sort of sonar pulse resounded from the weapon form, silent but visible through the soul's eyes, shooting out and revealing what else was around her. As a sugar glider witch, this was unnecessary for Aurora; she could see in this way, already. Moving beyond it, she followed the ghosting of the spirit's movement, quick and inhumanly fast as it fell to another rung on the ladder. The images she saw there could barely be detected, just as the wendigo's had been; a speed so quick you could miss it without blinking, and doing so could spell your doom. Watching, she saw the ability extend not just between both human and weapon forms, but for the space in between. As quick as it came, the images left, and the spirit moved on to a third rung, before returning back to the first. At the third, she watched as a tear shot across the ball's seemingly rubber surface, but the rip sealed just as quickly as it came. Before she could reach it, it sprung to the first, and, determined, the witch met it at the second. Gripping the rung tightly, she watched as the corrupted, otherwise white soul all but solidified into place, sealing itself into the speed-oriented rung she'd selected. Hardly had it done so before the whole helix structure stilled. In a sudden bustle of confetti-hued light, the realm returned, and Aurora fell from it, returned to reality in an instant hardly beyond when she had left it.


Nearby, Jarek's senses were overloading drastically, a maelstrom that resulted in the rainbow hues of his soul flashing about the apartment, not so much to be detected elsewhere, or even without the proper Perception, but enough to harm them otherwise. The initial consumption of the soul resulted in the worst of it, but somehow, everything about the room seemed to calm, though not quite to still, as Aurora's eyes snapped open, all glazed pupils, and determination painted her face. Not seconds later, the chaos that was Candy's soul appearance seemed somehow to relax, further put together, stronger, if not normal, monstrous as it was.

The torment of the changes caused by the mutagenic soul having stopped, Candy sat up on the sofa. Her eyes glistened quite visibly and tears that had escaped during the ordeal were quite visible in the corners of her eyes, threatening to spill down across her suddenly rather tired looking face; regardless, she wasn't crying but taking deep, slow, steady breaths. Having been ready this time, she wasn't going to let the whole thing traumatise her, even for the short while it did the first time around. Following one, final, deeper breath, Candy cleared her slightly blurred vision by rubbing her eyes with the palms of her hands. "I'm okay." She finally said, smiling in Aurora's direction.

The witch smiled at her softly, her soul protect falling back into place, bringing with it the return of her more visible irises. The purple rims were alight, but tired, adding to the worn-out, but determined expression that still painted her face. Widening her grin slightly, she gestured openly to the room, seeming almost not to notice Rogue within it, her other hand's grip having loosened on Candy's. "Why don't you see what you can do?"

"Alright." Candy agreed, before jumping away from the sofa. She walked around the outside the space she had, slowly, at first. When nothing happened, she looked around to see if she could see or hear anything she couldn't before; she was thinking of the wendigo, now, trying to think of anything. She sniffed the air, even, though nothing really stood out at all. She wasn't really up to do any flips or other such gymnastics. At least not with Rogue in the room. Not while wearing so little... She shook the thought away as she shrugged and sat herself back down on the sofa. "Nada."

Aurora furrowed her brow, pouting in annoyance the way that she often did. Shaking her head, she sighed in defeat, deering back to their lessons on souls and advancements of power in weapons; maybe she needed to eat more souls before the new power could activate? But then, she thought, why did the first one activate at all? Thinking on this, she seemed to space out, and not even Rogue's clearing of his throat for attention could rouse her from it. The meister, however, was focusing his attention on the weapon in the room, scanning her up and down, still both fascinated and appalled by the apparent state of her soul.

Candy sat with her hands behind her head looking predominantly at the ceiling, at least until Rogue's attempt at getting some attention. She dropped her arms to her sides as she looked at him and made a questioning sort of sound to say that she was listening.

"What do you see?" He asked, starting out with the somewhat hesitant question before clearing his throat once more, shifting in his seat before clarifying, "When you eat them, what do you see?"

"Black. Because my eyes are closed shut very tightly." Candy replied, before going back to her previous position of looking at the ceiling and wondering about why this soul didn't change anything.

Rogue fowned, clearly disappointed in the answer, but sighed in submission to it, resigning himself with looking for some sort of busying task.
