Chauncey was content to enjoy the milkshake for the moment, while also enjoying Angela's enjoyment of her own. Thinking about it, it was a little fast to be so entranced with her, so he wasn't entirely convinced that she wasn't casting some charming hokus-pokus on him despite the clear 'fire only' theme and Ana's denial of such the day before. Ah, whatever, he thought, I kinda like it.

Angela's head was clear of such thoughts. She was just really happy to finally go on a date and with someone as cool as Chauncey too. While it was a little bit weird in her eyes that she managed to get so attached to someone in just a day, she didn't complain. On the other hand, she was willing to go on another date or two with him, just to make sure her heart was right to pick him as a potential romantic partner. "Now that I think about it there's one weird thing in my family. I mean, it's weird when I compared it to yours. So, your family seems mostly focused on one... uhm... branch of enchantments, with you taking your work in a different direction. Meanwhile, in my family, most witches are specialists in completely different fields of magic. For example, my mom is good at creating illusions, my sister focuses on healing and protective magic and I'm the only one specialising in fire magic." Angela suddenly said.

"So similar magic doesn't run in the family then, huh?" Chauncey was a little surprised at that, though not for any reason that should have made sense thinking about it. Since he was taught rather than simply being born with enchanting, he erroneously took that view with magic too. Putting a little thought into it, though, made it make sense that family members would have potentially different magic. "Since enchanting is taught and magic isn't, I think it makes enough sense," Chauncey summarised his thought process in fewer words and punctuated it with a shrug. "I mean, any of my siblings could go and study with some other enchanters and they'd end up with vastly different skills too."

Angela rubbed her chin, definitely interested in Chauncey's take on the topic. Witches' powers were bound to them, but yet it was still possible to learn new spells, even if the process seemed quite difficult when a spell was taken from a different area of magic. "Well, magic itself isn't taught, but spells are. Soul Protect is a good example of such a spell. While this is considered to be a High-Level spell, it's also one of the most important ones nowadays. After our powers had started to awaken, my mother spent lots of time to teach us to use it." Angela said. "Still, assuming that magic type runs in the family wouldn't be wrong... I guess." She added, not entirely sure if she was correct on that assumption. After all, being a magic-user didn't necessarily mean possessing all the knowledge regarding magic itself.

Chauncey listened to Angela's take on things. What with her being a witch herself, he definitely took what she said over his, fairly baseless, assumptions. "So, basically, it's complicated?"

"Yeah, it is. I'd need to ask my teacher about it. She's been studying all things magic-related for years." Angela said, before proceeding to empty half of her milkshake. "Still it's amazing how diverse people can be." She summed up.

"Mmm," Chauncey agreed with that summary, returning to his own milkshake, in silence once again.

"It's a shame this annoying rain had to interrupt our fun..." Angela said, still sounding a little bit bitter about the sudden weather change. "Speaking of rain..." She mumbled before looking towards the windows as if to check whether the rain had ended or not.

The rain was still coming down, though not quite the downpour that it was before.

"Yeah, it would be today, huh? It's not done, yet," Chauncey said, shrugging. There was more milkshake to be had, and he wasn't complaining. It was delicious. "We can always do something else in the meantime, if you have any ideas besides the milkshakes."

Angela didn't even notice the mysterious figure passing by the cafe. Well, at least she didn't consider it important. "I dunno. It's not like there's much to do in the cafe. Aside from drinking and eating. We could use the fact that were in the rain-free area, but I don't know how. Alternatively, I could borrow an umbrella from our staff room so we can go somewhere." Angela said.

Chauncey gulped down the remainder of his milkshake, almost like he had in idea, but after placing the glass down on the table again, he slumped down along with it. "Where, though?"

Angela had high hopes for a moment, but when she was asked for ideas, she sighed and rested her head on her hand. "I dunno... We could go anywhere? There are so many places in Death City..." She said, before making a short pause just to finish her milkshake. "We could go to an arcade, to a mall or something."

Chauncey slowly sat up, stretching. "That sounds like an idea, but I think we'd need to stop by my place so I can get some shoes. Skates and games don't mix all too well, y'know?"

"Ah, right! Sure, why not? So, do you want to go now, or relax here for a little longer?" Angela said and then asked.

"My shake is done, so is yours, so I see no reason to stick about," Chauncey said, reaching under the table to pull his skates back on.

Angela put her shoes on instead. She didn't want to skate on wet streets. "Sure! I'll go grab an umbrella or two then." Angela said as she ran off into the staff room and returned a moment later.

By the time she returned, Chauncey was already standing by the door, waiting with skates on and bag slung over his shoulder, hands in his pockets.

Angela tossed one of the two umbrellas she'd brought with her towards Chauncey, expecting him to catch it. "Let's go then!" She said as she approached him.

Though fumbling with the umbrella projectile for just a moment, Chauncey did get a grip on it in the end. Wordlessly, he opened the door and opened the umbrella up. "Follow me, I guess," he said.

"With pleasure!" Angela said before she walked out of the store. Outside she immediately opened up her umbrella, since with his skates on his feet, going side-by-side and shoulder-by-shoulder would probably be a little too difficult.

Once out of the store, Chauncey rolled forward while trying to figure out how to open the umbrella, not exactly used to using one what with the prevailing climate of each of the two states that he has lived in. Once he had it open, he rested it loosely on one shoulder, holding up only the bottom end. In silence, just like that, he headed towards his place of residence, first of all.

Angele simply followed him on foot. Since just holding her umbrella was too boring as a concept. she started playfully twirling it around, letting all the accumulated water go all around her with accordance to the laws of physics. The witch had surprisingly a lot of fun with that, combined with jumping over small puddles of water that were everywhere at that point.

Chauncey glided along paying sparse amounts of attention to what was going on in front of him in favour of observing Angela's playful antics at the edge of his vision. He thought about how endearing it was. At least, he did that up until he reached a certain alleyway. He folded his umbrella as he stood at the entrance to it, since it was just a little too narrow for an umbrella to comfortably fit between each wall that sandwiched the unassuming, dark space; it was also mostly dry, besides.

Angela stopped right next to him and curiously looked into the alleyway. "Mmm! Dark alleys! My favorite!" The witch said jokingly, folding her own umbrella to hide from the rain in there. After whispering some quiet incantations, she opened her hand and a small flame appeared in the middle of it. It seemed unphased by how wet everything was around them. Angela tossed it up playfully before tossing it into the darkness. Instead of falling to the ground, it simply levitated there for a moment, before getting extinguished by a snap of her fingers. While seemingly it was a pointless use of magic on her part, she did it because it was fun and the harmless fireball looked somewhat cute in the dark.

"Yeah, I live down there," Chauncey said, pointing into the gloom with the tip of his umbrella, rolling forward until a door became visible on the side of one of the buildings. "Getting post is a bitch, but nobody tries to sell me anything," he said as he unlocked the door, behind which was a set of stairs leading upwards towards another two doors, and a door to the left at the bottom. "Garage," Chauncey said, tapping on the latter door with the umbrella, before moving up the stairs. You can step in for a bit if you like, but I won't take long," he said once he was at the top, moving along the small landing. "My place, that belongs to my eldest brother," Chauncey explained, tapping first the door straight ahead of the stairs and then the one to the right of the landing. He then opened the unlocked door to his part of the apartment and disappeared inside.

Inside, the apartment opened up straight into a long corridor. The only doors were to the left and straight ahead. First there was a living room, followed by a kitchen and then a bathroom. Then, the last door on the right and the one straight ahead were both labelled. 'Aru' and 'Chance' respectively, decorated with childish drawings to boot. Chauncey, obviously, made his way to the one labelled with the diminutive of his name.
